I know this was a first time, but they really should have had a camera on every one of the dancers and posted that online so viewers could see everyone. They also should have given the judges more time to talk to one another (it all looked very rushed). Maybe do a commercial or an interview with all the dancers. Aside from that, it was a really fun idea and really enjoyable to watch! Again, wish I could have seen everyone (maybe just one video that shows everyone), but really fun an energetic!

ashley and faye are really starting to piss me off, no shit that trained dancers will score highest, there should be a novice handicap mark which is added to novice dancers, so the least amount of dance background will get the highest handicap added to there score and the more dance experiance will ge gradually lower until zero, at least until people have got used to learning dances just my opinion, also i dont think the judge factor in novice dancers enough, in joe was up against ashley for example in the dance off he would stand no chance as her dance background would mean she has a far better chance at being flawless

I know they're trying to show that the marks are spontaneous by giving them straight away, but they should give the judges a bit more time if they're gonna do something like this really.

Even though this is over a year old I'm going through old stuff anyway because, like so many here, I'm a Joe and Dianne fan. I've never seen this before though, and actually thought most of the placements ended up being very fair. Here's why. 7th and 6th: Lauren and AJ, Graeme and Oti- These bottom two placements are the only ones I would've switched, tbh, based on what I could see. However, both pairs were closer to the judges table, so maybe they saw something I didn't (camera work is veeeery shoddy here.) What I did see was similar choreo that wasn't at the same level at the other pairs, but Graeme did fail that lift dismally and would put him behind Lauren in my opinion. 5th: Charles and Karen: Honestly, I was at first mad that no one in the comments was complaining that they were underscored! Their choreo was really good, had solid beats and an even mix of lifts/tricks and footwork that other pairs didn't balance and Charles nailed almost all of it that I could see... However, when I watched them really closely, I saw them fail a lift at 3:43. Graeme failed a lift too, but at least Oti was already on the floor and he just messed up the timing-- Charles's mistake was a lot more dangerous and could've ended really badly. Despite the rest of their routine being 1st place material this brings it down A LOT. 4th: Stacey and Kevin- Their routine was good, involved a lot more movement and risk-taking than the other couples who mostly stayed in their designated spots. It's hard to tell because of all the cuts, but it looks like she and Kevin both forgot the steps at one point? I'm looking at 4:10, and maybe 4:24 as well but I can't tell, it looks like Stacey is unsure but she might just be backing away from Kevin for a lift and just not fully committing. She just seems a little hesitant. Personally, I also don't really like the piggyback bc it just cuts into what little time they have. She has good technique, though! 3rd, 2nd, and 1st: Honestly, I'm stuck. I remember when watching the dances come out week by week it was SUCH a huge deal that Faye and Ashley were trained dancers and it was in the comments of every video. Yes, their dances were better here as well. Does that mean either of them deserve the "win" though? Their routines were much more well-choreographed than Joe and Dianne's, who mostly did tricks, and actually show off technique and timing. Should we detract because Ashley and Faye were trained and Joe isn't, though? Is that fair, either, to penalize someone for something out of their control (previous training)? If all three dancers were on equal footing, then it would be perfectly fair to score Ashley and Faye 1st and 2nd with Joe at a distant third, but they're not. Their experience allows their routines to be more well-developed because it takes them less time to get the simple things down, while Joe and Dianne are working from scratch, which is what the point of the show is supposed to be. However, since "leaderboard" scores on Strictly don't mean that much anyway I'm not upset at all that Ashley and Faye scored higher, because they were technically better in every sense of the word. I guess that what I'm trying to say is that they shouldn't have been on the show in the first place (Ashley in particular, as much as I like her she's got tons of experience and even more than Faye) but you can't technically penalize them for it once they're there.

Loved this, watched it so many times and always makes me smile. Perfection is boring, things going wrong but handling it with humour is so much more entertaining :)

What an absolute shambles

The one part of this great series that needs dumping or, at least, its impact on the overall result. Throughout the dance it was clear the judges were so frantically trying to create the list of results that they weren’t even watching the dancers. And when they finally did produce the list, surprise surprise, it basically mirrored the general pattern of the main board. Yes, it’s fun but the shambolic, flaky scoring shouldn’t be allowed to affect the seriously considered scores of the main dances.

For FS, this had NOTHING to do with Lindy Hop, this was sheize..no swing outs, no anything, that reminiscent of "real" swing dancing. This was more likely some joke "jive" dancing with elements from Charleston and lifts from Lindy. Lindy Hop was a "street dance" with no real rules , but still, some basic elements are the same over all the world, among them are: Swing Outs, Circles, Tandem Charleston etc. This was indeed and utterly shambolic. Look up Lindy Hop on RU-vid and see, what a great dance it is.

It was such a fix to get Ashley back on top of the leader board.

Yeah that scoring situation was a bit awkward! Darcey and her gift of the gab and general loveliness managed to smooth it over a bit though :D Ashley and Faye don’t piss me off at all, their dances really were *that good* and that should be celebrated in its own right. I hate this Tall Poppy Syndrome thing in our country where people feel threatened by others doing really well and like they have to bring them down. Charles and Karen should have got some props I think though for being very good still (as ever) and Stacey and Kevin were probably more like 2nd place than 3rd when you think about it. I’m not really won over by Joe but he is a good dancer. Graeme & Oti and Lauren and AJ are lovely but I think their scores were fair and right.

what i didnt like about this, was when Ashley was announced “last”, she pulled a disgusted face almost as if she thought she didn’t deserve to be last. It’s fine to think this because everyone needs a bit of self esteem, etc however she didn’t need to show it and make the rest of the cast feel uncomfortable. Idk, but this whole lindy hop a thon was a complete waste of time for me as it was a mess.

Ashley may be a trained dancer, but she didn’t use it in what music videos was she dancing like a professional.... never! Everyone can do those moves she’s hardly trained! Ashley was the most in time get over it xx

I don’t feel like they were looking at the best dances, I think they were choosing favourites “it’s quite obvious” Ashley and pasha always scoring so high , followed by Faye and Giovanni and etc

As a beauty therapist is it just me or was the make up actually terrible for this Dance? The dance was fantastic and love them all. Yet so frustrated with hair and makeup 😟
