If you are struggling to compress the golf ball at impact like a pro, look no further and watch this video!
⛽️🔥 Milo’s Favorite Drill to COMPRESS the Golf Ball: milolinesgolf.com/compress
In this episode, Henry and I will walk you through the steps to creating a more dynamic golf impact position where the hands cover your lead ankle. In our coaching, we often see students that throw angles out from the top depriving themselves of distance and compression. The ball tends to go very high and not very far. In these cases we see their hands falling well behind the lead ankle at impact, essentially causing them to hit off their trail leg. This can create contact issues, loft issues (dynamic loft too high), and low point problems. Let's look at how we can get the ball going out instead. We hope you enjoy this video on producing a tour like impact!

I've watched many of your videos. What i liked about this one is the slow motion of Milo's actual swing (hitting the ball) through impact (P6 to P7). What i see there is not only what you comment on (the rotation while hands remain in front) but also the release. So the actual swing is less "severe" in terms of the holding off of release than it appears when you are shadow swinging. In other words the demonstration may be more one of "feel" (what we should try to feel when practising) than what happens through impact on an actual swing. That's an important learning point as if one holds off the release too long (even while rotating etc) one won't connect properly with the ball. The release still happens as is seen in the slo-mo. Thanks again.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Год назад
Correct, however the release is more of a byproduct of the movement. I typically am not actively releasing it, only letting it go instead of holding it on. Depends on the shot a little, but hopefully that makes sense.

Very advanced, well done. Also praise due for mentioning the “ unload “ of wrist angle through strike, these demos showing 45deg of shaft lean often lead us hackers down the wrong road. When my wrists unload the angle at the correct time.. it’s as if someone else hit the shot.. it’s so pure. 😀 Rarely happens ..

@MiloLinesGolf

We like to think that the swing we lay out is safer on the body, but each person may need their own specific modifications. Therefore I always suggest working with people online through our academy or in person so I can best help. Offering advice through a RU-vid comment is tricky.

Can you do a video describing the pelvis going back and its relation to the right thigh? Its a general tip to say that the Pelvis goes back and you "Squeeze" the lemon. But how are the legs reacting? Is the weight put into the left hamstring in a squat? For someone trying to adopt this pattern but needs a more in depth analysis. I feel like the right shoulder still goes out in an over the top.

Milo, that Michael Block PGA Top 15 story should be an inspiration to all you blokes at Superstition Mountain. You all need to be competing and teaching. Your effort a few years ago when you had the most birdies and 3 doubles and 6 bogeys because of the grass should have driven you onwards. I haven't seen anything regards competitive golf from you and Michael Block proves it can be done.

Most times when people transition to this method and begin shanking it, it's because they still power the club from the top with their arms pitching the club out as they lower and turn.

Thank you for the video, this is PRECISELY the part of my "swing" (I use the term loosely) that I have been working on. I have (almost) literally been wearing out my iPhone taking videos trying to get into the positions you are talking about. It is maddening to try as hard as I can to keep rotating my body through only to look at the video to see my arms slowing down and the shaft turning from forward lean to leaning backward, somewhere at my right hip. Even if there is pronation coming into delivery my arms will slow down, resulting in that ugly shaft lean backward. This does NOT happen without a ball, and I've read that it can be due to the head being open as you approach impact; i.e. your "little golfer" FORCES you to slow the arms down to square the face. I realize your Academy is the proper venue to discuss all this and try to find a solution, just wanted to chime in that this is a very useful and welcome video.

Is the thumbnail a static position or a snapshot of an actual swing. Looks like a flip. The club head gets to the ball quite late and it’s flipped last second. When I watch the best do it they release way earlier than you are explaining here. The rehearsal swings you guys are making here are pretty extreme. The guy hit a thin one, he was holding too long. As you said “it’s tough to synchronize it all”. Of course it is if you try to hold everything like this. The club is above the ball. My back hurts watching this method.
@MiloLinesGolf
@MiloLinesGolf Год назад
First that still was an action frame from an actual shot I hit. Second the amount of lean is generally proportional to the speed a player has look at Brooks DJ Finau Champ and you will see something similar to this still shot. I create quite a lot of lean and have a fairly late release but I also have plenty of speed to launch it nice and high. Third rehearsal movements generally need to be exaggerated to help create change. If the rehearsal feels normal you will do nothing new. Last drills are designed to create change in our movements so we don’t worry about the results in the drilling phase. The best allow the release to happen and don’t force it. What we explain in this video will allow the player to do just that.
