My wife works in senior care, many of who have dementia. On dreadnaughts you should try the HD lights from Elixir. Bigger strings are lights and changes to mediums at the smaller strings. The opposite of the customs. Less flimsy on my D35. My J45 lights rule though.

Polywebs are awesome on electric! Acoustic true... A set already lasted me close to 10 years. Had to change because they were not staying in tune anymore.

I’m wondering what your views are on the 5 string Stelling banjo?

I have several Yamaha’s and my two top tier are an LL16 and FG5. Phenomenal guitars, however their customer service in Canada sucks. The go ahead to get replacement parts is annoying as hell and takes months to get….even bone saddles and nuts. Also I believe that Americans have and will always buy American from American builders. Martin, Gibson, Taylor etc. Nashville guitarists especially. Also I must admit I bought a Martin DX1AE from L & M in Brampton new for $700 all in about 5 years ago and it is a gem and sounds/records amazing and one of my favourite dreds. Yamaha at the time had nothing in that price point that sounded as good or offered a great Fishman in it. I know you hate Martin’s X series but think your off the mark on that a tad…lol…I recently picked up a Yamaha LS6 and an amazing guitar…they all sound good from any maker if ya git da one’s dat ring…😊

You nailed it! Don't put all your faith in mass produced guitar company! Yamaha! They make awesome stuff and some dogs. Especially the chinese made stuff. Play it before you buy it or at a minimum buy it online from someone who gives a 100% refund! GET IT CHECKED OUT BEFORE YOU CAN'T RETURN IT!

Oof. Tell Jonny St Cyr, PAPA Charlie Jackson, Sylvester Weaver, Sam MGee, Rev Gary Davis that the 6 string banjo music they recorded isn't real. It's not 4 or 5 string banjo music, it's 6 string banjo music: ragtime, jazz, hokum, folk, singer songwriter and it's been performed by outsiders for a long time.
