unfortunately I lost half of the material, I can only show disassembly. but if you are interested in how the reassembly and lubrication look like. I have a second such omega watch in the workshop for full service, I can do this material, write what you think about it Regards Karol
Thanks for sharing this video Karol, it's the first time I see the co-axial escapement in real life, very interesting. Do you know the history of this watch? It was very dirty around the barrel, my guess is someone with insufficient knowledge of the calibre had a go at the inside?
this is customer's watch, i asked for service history, customer bought this watch used, service history unknown. but evidently someone was doing something in watch Regards Karol
I think so, generally it is an extension of eta 2892a2. I think it was supposed to be as cheap as possible, the next generations of co-axials are much MUCH better. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good mechanism, but I feel the same way as you. The finish could have been better
Hello. I have the same model 2201.50 and noticed that the date change is not snappy. It moves more gradually and doesn’t snap from one to next. Is that a reason for concern? The watch works great otherwise. Thanks
when was the watch serviced? should be cleaned and oiled every 5 years at the latest. maybe it's just dirty and dry, or it's already damaged. so that's a cause for concern regards karol
Rolex is definitely more expensive. I personally do not like Rolex, I will not be objective in my assessment. all new omegas are co-axial escapement. rolex no. very popular 3135 automatic with date and astronomical prices. whatever you like, for me Rolexes are not worth their prices. But that's just my opinion. if you want the price-quality ratio. omega wins. they are cheaper and have fantastic mechanics
definitely, your watch is definitely completely dry. Mechanical watch should be serviced every 5 years maximum. greases and oils dry out over time, and the watch runs dry. after years of dry running, the barrel may already be completely destroyed (friction clutch) and the main spring, bearings, etc. regards karol
