Sulfonamides show some structural similarity with PABA thereby they compete with it and inhibit folic acid synthesis in bacteria. In order to enter into bacterial cell they show better therapeutic activity at pKa range of 6.6 to 7.4. Here in this video we will discuss various SAR related to sulfonamides.
