Lol right I really enjoy RLM and Space Cop was fucking awful. Nobody enjoyed Space Cop. THEY fucking hate Space Cop. Rich was the only halfway decent part of it and even that got old quick. Nobody liked that shit lol
+Malchik Blue What? You're glad Mike rarely stays away from what shit show? You're right about Jack though; him and Rich are progressive dipshits. Thankfully, I've gotten the sense that Mike and Jay are redpilled. For example, they called Hillary a criminal in the Doctor Strange review, mocked Collider progressives in the first Nerd Crew episode ("in this age of Donald Trump, what we needed was a dark Star Wars film") and ripped on 'Sensiive Joss Whedon' in the Jurassic World review for being an SJW..
you're missing the point of RLM entirely. The whole point is that it's just a funny movie review channel, and for the overwhelming majority of the time, they keep political bullshit out of it. Thamkfully, their fanbase also is one of the least politicized groups of fans on the internet in my experience. Shit like this irritates me; bringing the toxic interent politics and innane specualtions on their personal views into a channel people just want to unwind and watch while getting a break from all that. Seems as though you're very keen to do mental gymnastics to ensure you belive that Mike and Jay agree with you, because if someone who's work you admire didn't agree with you, you would find it impossible to carry on enjoying their work, and assume they are 'dipshits' when you don't know them in the slightest. Does this stimatization and irrational hatred of the political 'other' sound similar to any other group of contentious internet psuedo-politicians to you? I'll gice you a clue, starts with an 'S' and ends in 'W'
You did not watch the video. He clearly said it was awkward but he found it funny. He admited he overblowed the situation and didn't know what way to take it. He clearly did not cry either, he admited he just woke up and has shitloads of editing and filming to do. Man is tired. He all good i remember this controversy back then and it was a dumb goof and they both admit to it
Ace Zachrocks no, he’s clearly upset. Who tf makes a 6 minute video over a harmless banter jab. Why couldn’t he use Armoured Skeptics response as an example. He insists everyone overblowing this and making a big deal when really, he’s the only one doing so.
@@bothi00 Do you not know how the internet and toxic fans work? He made this video because his fans and braindead edgy RLM fans were going at it on Twitter and comment sections. Hell, there's a whole new situation now with William Shatner because of RLM fans on Twitter; RLM themselves put out a video much like this one (in message, not tone or production quality) to try and settle their fans down and stop trolling a stubborn old man on the internet.
@@LiGohan This video by Chris is not the same nor in the same manner as the RLM video for the William Shatner thing. It seems it's Chris that does not know how internet and toxic fans work. There will always be stupid reactionary toxic fans across all sectors. The best thing he could have done is just leave it, don't feed the trolls and move on. Instead he exacerbated it by giving fuel to rabid stupid RLM "fans" and people who generally just shit on Chris for being a pussy (because in fairness, he was being quite pathetic here). And again, none of this happened with Armoured Skeptic or even JeremyJahns. So that negates your whole "it's just the internet/toxic fans - that's how it is".
Chris reminds me of the time I was a sexual philanthropist in jail and I tomb raided a ginger who cried afterwards. I felt disgusting with myself. The Golden years.
@@8LiterallyJustTheNumber8 I get he's your favorite RU-vidr but like come on you can't deny he was clearly bothered they called him a prick even though 80% of what they say is hyperbole
I mean it's one thing for a person's insecurities to cause them to make something out of nothing, and it's another thing for a bunch of people to pile onto someone because of a joke, which is what I'm assuming happened?
@@8LiterallyJustTheNumber8 same. I mean I barely watch his videos and I still agree with you. Ya he was bothered slightly, but he knew they didn't mean anything they said, and he downplay dhís emotions if anything.
@@ValehassNo they initially used to watch his movies off camera on movie nights, then they decided to review one of his movies, and then he came on the show and was a good sport about it. Idk about the timeline for when he joined the Space cop project but they didn't know him before they reviewed his movie.
He should feel good about being mentioned man, even if my hero or idol told me I sucked at my dream career path I wouldnt cry about it, I'd go out and put better quality product out into the world, look at fucking tommy wiseau, dude made a ginormous p.o.s film and a decade later you have (basically) the whole damn internet watching your film and sharing that shit with their friends and pewdiepie sharing as well lol
It’s one of the reasons I don’t like him, he’s such a pussy. Shows in his reviews, doesn’t get too deep and won’t be critical to avoid any hurt feelings. Don’t worry about it, it’s professional, not personal but that’s not Stuckman, he’s a pussy.
I'm not and wasn't mad. I just made this video, unsubbed, tweeted them for verifocation and still look confused about the whole thing. Totally not mad or bothered, all is cool.
@@Snagprophet I think so. Sincerely. Maybe not a sperg but something on the spectrum. That and/or the fact that merely making a RU-vid review channel necessitates a large ego and need to be liked. That in itself isn't special or crazy but like any form of entertainment it draws in those with massive personality issues. So much so that another RU-vidr making a joke about you causes such an intense feeling as he clearly had.
He’s the guy who said the Podrace is boring because the shots go left to right only, showing that he doesn’t know how editing, visual storytelling, or continuity works. If it went left to right and then right to left, that would mean they’re turning around.
He has a such a high opinion of himself that he thinks he should be the one person exempt from their mockery/humor. It’s insanely narcissistic and lame
@@Alfonso88279 yeah but they’re not the same kinda reference. Most people reference RedLetterMedia as quality content and the gold standard for reviewing movies. Chris is kinda just a meme
@@alosim1541 Not at all, he is referenced with a lot of respect, even people in the industry have his reviews as a good reference. Chris never offends anyone and he always brings good points, he uses his personal knowledge about movie making and apply it, and when he is wrong he comes and tells you in later videos without any pride or shame. Redlettermedia is, on the other hand, well considered by youtubers, but not so much by the industry, because they do not care about offending people, and that's ok, I think that people should be able to speak their minds, to a certain degree at least. There is a red line somewhere and redlettermedia is often close that line. I think that redlettermedia is better in general because they are a group. Quite often I disagree or think that Jay or Mike or Rich brings a really bad point but then some of them intervenes and adds his own point or correct his partner. In Chris' review that can't happen because he works alone, if he is wrong, there's no one to argue with him. In the other hand, Chris' reviews are something much lighter, he never tries to cover every aspect of a movie. In Redlettermedia they can take one hour or more to speak about one movie.
@@BaronVonBielski Ehhhh... They have different niches. I mean, not everybody likes to watch bad B-Movies. In the same vein not everybody likes seeing a Jewish kid destroy a nazi zombie fetus. I just so happen to like both, but if South Park were to do something about bad B-Movies they wouldn't be able to capture the magic of RLM, just like RLM can't capture Indiana Jones getting raped. They're different but they're definitely not talentless. Just a different niche and a massive budget difference.
Maybe watch his Jehovah Witness video, and this would actually make a lot more sense. I can understand why he’s so sensitive. He doesn’t like being mocked in anyway and I don’t blame him
Like jay said in their response " we can joke about 9/11, but we cannot call another youtuber a prick, that's crossing the line" chris has such a huge issue w criticism he's in the wrong field of work, the batman v superman ordeal, and this was the icing on the cake. Next will be when his movie gets released he will collapse when the reality sinks in that his opinion and films are completely irrelevant
That would be a blessing. This video really cemented my hatred of him. If RLM was really his favorite RU-vid channel, then he’d be deeply familiarized with their sense of humor and all the people they’ve poked fun at on their program, but Chris thinks so highly himself that in his ideal world he should be the one person exempt from that criticism
His eyes are bloodshot Either his mother just got hit by a car His father got diagnosed with Lung Cancer He smoked a fat doobie, man Or he’s been bawling uncontrollably over Rich Evans, which no man or woman should ever admit to doing
@@cinematastic1814 Dude are you dumb ? Because his not literally crying waterfalls like spongebob doesn't matter. It's the fact he take that joke seiously and 'cries' about. Also his eyes are red and watery if that's what matters to you
Ugh. . . why wouldn't he just film this for himself, watch it once, then delete it? It's so uncomfortable. . . If I get whiplash from cringing so hard, I'm suing.
Len Kabasinski I think is a prime example of how Redletter Media can simultaneously insult a person's work and respect the person. They've done a few collaborations together and Len even helped with Space Cop. Of course they're all jokes. That's kinda the point. And I think Len himself said that he didn't care if his movies were made fun of because at the end of the day the viewer found some enjoyment in it. People are just different I guess.
"Or we should teach children not to pick on each other" Bruh, that's not how children work. They can be very cruel and they can say spiteful stuff without realizing it. The whole "we can teach kids to never be bad" thing is a fuckin joke.
Things n' Stuff I work with children for living. You can and should at least try to make them behave. I have even seen the worst roughnecks become best friends. With your attitude, kids will grow up to be assholes and bullies even as adults
All I said was that you can't stop all children from being cruel. Of course you have to try to make them behave. I never implied you shouldn't. But being realistic helps too.
I think he seems like a nice guy but like all nice guys there is a penchant for over-sensitivity when it comes to jokes at their expense. He seems too self-conscious to say it upset him, but still upset enough to make a fucking video analyzing it all.
Mike and Jay grew up in the savage days of the internet. They don't give two shits about anyones feelings and certainly dont care about being "internet friends" with other youtubers. If they want to roast you they will and if you roast them they wont give a shit. None of this, "can't we all just be positive" crap. The internet is a no holds barred, take no prisoners, bloodbath, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
@@Carlosdreamur Jeremy Jahns is a more comedic presence but has much more of an average movie goer fan point of view compared to Chris’s Roger Ebert esque take that analyzes the filmmaking
" I'm not upset. I'm not even mad. I act in impulse and think way to much about how people perceive me. I donated to them twice. I wasn't hurt...nope...I act out in impulse. I spent 6+ minutes brown nosing my FAVORITE channel to deflect the fact that I wasn't mad and hurt. I only tweeted them to see if things were cool between us. I messaged people who I never met, to see if they liked me. They said it was a joke. I thought so. Just checking...I didn't dwell on it for days. Nope. not even mad. " -Chris Cuckman
this is a prime example of why you should never EVER make any content while emotionally compromised about a subject or incident. Also, content creators, this is what happens when you read all the comments and take everything personal. I like this guy, and I can tell he was bothered by this, but I feel like this was made worse by all his fan blowing it out of proportion to the point that he felt like making this video, that he should had never done. If he was that bothered by it, all he had to do was skip to the private conversation, "we cool?!?" and then tell all his followers: "hey I am cool with those guys, stop trying to start beef where there is none". good rule to live by so you don't end up being embarrassed in front of the whole internet like collider.
His review of Drive is why I subscribed to him, his, "reviews" since then ... good grief: 1) Thumbnail of him making an exaggerated reaction face 2) A video of him almost saying [insert text here]
@@Turtleproof wth are u talking about 😂. Most of his thumbnails arent exaggerated its usually a smile or a bored look or maybe somehwta exaggerated but that rarely happens
What do you mean? Isn't it common for a reviewer to spend only 6 minutes on the subject by discussing the creator's past works for half the video, saying that you liked said works, then spend the rest saying that you had a good time with the film you are reviewing? That isn't a robust and detailed analysis to you? 😂
@@Max-nh2jc No. A good reviewer breaks down all of the objective mechanics of the story and how they do and don't work when it comes to inner world logic (the world of the film), character consistency and arcs, and how the film works to provide its theme in a manner that fits within the story and character journey's presented. A film can succeed or fail at these things based upon the writing, and its pretty important that a critic/reviewer is able to articulate these elements and provide supported arguments about them that cite actual mechanics of the story. Just saying that you liked it is pretty lacking in any sort of worthwhile content. Anyone can like or hate anything for a myriad of justifiable and/or questionable reasons. It's more worthwhile for the reviewer to be to actually breakdown the elements of the story and backup why they have concluded whether it is demonstrably good or bad.
After watching his recent video about growing up as a Jehovah's Witness, leaving the cult and all the trauma's it caused him, this video makes a lot more sense now. I can understand why he would be very sensitive.
Never understand why the RLM fans hate him for this, even without Chris being once in an isolated cult aside, he is just kinda cringe at times? It wasn't like Kristian Harloff who is just being a prick.
Apparently it’s a crime to be sensitive on the internet. No empathy. No understanding. Just shitposting. It’s kinda fucked considering how intensely people will flock and obsess over someone’s personal decisions.
@@britneyhochman5204 If this was a makeup channel you might have a point but RLM’s fanbase is that of almost entirely ironic and satirical shot posters. If you have a problem with that, you’re hanging out on the wrong side of RU-vid. And no amount of condescending comments on third party channels is going to change that
I can understand why you might see my point as nonsensical and pointless, so lemme try to clarify some things. I left that comment in a reply section where the other commenters would probably agree with me, and we could share our feelings on the topic to get some cathartic resolution. And even if I left that comment as just a regular public comment, it’s still possible that I could get some affirming responses from people who agree with me (though I’d probably get a lot more people who disagree with me lol). Speaking of disagreement, I wasn’t necessarily trying to change anyone’s minds, I rather was just frustrated at people bullying someone and wanted to vent about it. And yes, as someone who’s been a fan of RLM for over 3 years, I used the word “bullying.” Despite some of their jokes occasionally going unnecessarily far, the people at RLM would not repetitively make fun of a personal video that somebody shot real quick for Facebook. Does that help clear up some things?
Does it tho? I mean, for a guy that critiques films and is pretty savage to certain ones, (like superhero films or the prequels for example), he's pretty thin skinned. If you dish it, you should be to take it. In my part of town you'd be called a bitch for it and rightfully so.
"Did I say or do anything about it?" *proceeds to remove them from the channel box, cries about not wanting to promote them, messages them on twitter and makes a 6 minute video about the so called "joke"* *CRYMORE*
I don't understand how you can be a fan of RLM and then get offended over it. He should've just commented on the video with either a laughing face or something witty or something.
Chris Stuckman is out there every day, working hard promoting RLM. And he doesn't get an invitation to the grand opening of the Plinkett amusement park? Fucking bullshit.
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why Chris will never be as cool as anyone from RLM. You're great Chris, but the fact you even felt the need to address this says so much.
Really tho? RLM is like word of god around here. Barely ANYONE disagrees with him, and usually their fanbase takes the criticism to heart. He had to say something or else his channel would lose subscribers from RLM's fans (who take them too seriously).
We all need to vent sometimes and that's one thing, but to rewatch this and still be able to upload it is absolutely beyond me. The cringe is so intense.
A perfect example of this is Len Kabasinski. The RLM team made fun of his movie during one of their Best of the Worst episodes and even insulted his filmmaking etc. Len, who doesn't mind criticism, even guested on their Best of the Worst episodes. Now there's Stuckmann who starts complaining over a single joke. Could he not have talked to RLM, like "hey guys I'm a big fan, could I appear on your show" and then joked around with them on their turf?
