This is from "The Christmas Episode" featuring musicians from New Orleans(led by Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews) not long after Hurricane Katrina. Simply beautiful.
Gosh I miss Studio 60! This is the BEST Christmas episode I have ever seen and I bought the track off itunes the day it was available. It is my favorite version of Oh Holy Night ever. Amazing!
The show as a whole was navel-gazing at its finest, but the Christmas episode? No one could deny them a second season after that. Play it again, Shorty. *wipes tears*
Magical! As the scene went to credits, I just uttered "Crap that is high-grade television!" - of course four months later, its canceled. Sad, so happy, though, that this survived on youtube!
Networks: "A television series that has intelligent dialogue, and is emotionally uplifting. This cannot be allowed... cancel it, and order more mindless reality programs."

Kudos to the musicians. Its the best version I have ever heard of "Holy night" - nothing less than sublime! It sucks that they cancelled this show - I agree with @isl1551, that its soooo much better than 30Rock!! Bring back Studio 60 NOW!!
One of my favorite scenes from on of my favorite shows of all time - this still brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful arrangement, perfectly played. Kudos to those who made this happen! Cheers!
This had to be the most moving thing I have ever seen in a TV show. I remember watching the episode and had tears running down my face. They really should get this show back on TV but it probably wouldn't be the same. My favorite Christmas song of all time now.
The best four minutes of episodic television...ever! The music alone makes this clip worth viewing. Aaron Sorkin's amazingly underwritten scene woven moves it into the stratosphere.
I keep coming back to this. What a superb TV show, so of course it was canceled. I've had the mp3 for years and used it many times as Christmas music. Even better knowing its origin with the New Orleans musicians.
This has always been my favorite scene from that whole series. Thanks for posting it again. It's a real classic--the arrangement is fabulous, and the performance really memorable.
Thanks for making this brilliant series available. PLEASE make more available. I'm a Aaron Sorkin fan - can't get enough of his work - even loved the whole Sorkinisms - supercut - sketches!! PLEASE - entertainment in Australia has closed down for the summer!!
Clearly a lot of Studio 60 fans here - could anyone please point me in the direction of a copy of the main show theme? Really want it as a ring tone - love the music.
public.me.com/ocontrair/OHolyNight.mp3 is the link to the file for "O Holy Night" without the Studio 60 dialogue. One of the intentions of including this music on the show was to encourage support for New Orleans musicians through *Tipitina's Foundation*...still a good idea: tipitinasfoundation.org/
Thanks, Susan. Same to you. As a former New Orleans resident, I still have many musician friends back there that have benefitted from programs such as Tipitina's Foundation and Music Rising.
@gsmookler don't know if you've already found it but if you haven't search "o holy night studio 60" click second vid, the one with the picture of lots of candles
