My mother had the same complaints and reported them to her doctor who brushed her off. She discontinued use when the pain and weakness made it dangerous for her to walk and saw an immediate improvement. They called me and threatened to knock her off disability (shortly after a major stroke) for “non-compliance”. We got it all straightened out after multiple discussions - none of which included my mother, the actual patient! Now imagine if I didn’t have a good relationship with her and hadn’t known what was going on. What if she was a patient without any family?

Heart patient here. I had huge arguments with doctors over Statins. Aside from the constant pain they made my legs weak and so they'd collapse under me with no warning. The doctors couldn't understand that collapsing while crossing the road is a more serious risk than a possible future heart attack. As far as they were concerned Statins are a wonder drug and I was a heretic for speaking against them.

My Repatha injectible prescription is currently $500 month and thankfully my insurance covers it with a $25 co-pay. I have the familial hyperlipidemia type of high LDL cholesterol. (In simple terms, it's hereditary and my liver doesn't properly process cholesterol, so now amount of healthy eating can get this condition turned around.) I have been on all 5 statins and they all caused muscle pain over time so I stopped them. Sadly, over 15 years I've had angioplasty 3 times and now have 5 stents in my heart. My cardiologist talked me in to trying the Repatha alternative to statins and I again developed muscle pain however it is less. Also, I've learned using Repatha can bring on diabetes. I'm in a very difficult position and want to stop taking it.

Red yeast rice (if you can get the real untampered thing, preferably by making it yourself starting with stuff you buy at an Oriental grocery) in fact contains a statin. Oyster mushrooms do also (but don't overdo them, half a mushroom per day is probably ballpark target). Back 15 years ago when I didn't have any insurance and I'd run out of Lipitor, I ate one oyster mushroom per day. My blood tests later that year showed that was too much. The drawback of these natural solutions is that it's hard to know what actual dosage you're getting, and it probably varies from batch to batch.

Those meds are statins and thicken the mucus in your lungs, that's why you are much sicker than you were two days ago. I thought I was having some kind of attack, or maybe had blood clots in my legs. I was furious when the doctor was nonchalant and said no problem, it’s just a statin side effect. No surprise that the big drug companies finally publicize this and play like they just discovered these side effects when they have brought new, extremely expensive substitutes to market. In 1986 I was diagnosed with lupus and the docs were happy to put me on long term drugs and ignore me. After a year and a half I stopped the drugs, went with alternative healing and started having an immediate "spontaneous remission." A fairly recent 20 year study proved that the majority of damage was caused by the drugs and not the disease. I stayed away from doctors for 30 years and now when I bring it up I am dismissed as ever having it exactly because I don't have the damage caused by long term drug use. I had a single by-pass in early 2000, and have been under the care of a cardiologist since then. The last time I saw him, he was going over my chart and said, 'I see you haven't been getting your simavastain filled.' I told him that was right, that I had been doing a lot of research and didn't like what I read, plus, I told him about all of the side effects I'd had over a decade. He just gave me that 'look' and said I'm going to call you some in. I took them for a few days and stopped again. He'll probably confront me again tomorrow, but I'm telling him that I have to advocate for myself, since no one else will and if he wants to drop me as a patient, that will be fine too. Plus, I've known him since he was a child. Our families went to church together and he was friends with my sons in school, so it's not like we're strangers. I have a list of symptoms if he wants to go 'there.' Since the 'plandemic' I don't trust anyone in health care anymore.

I agree. I've been doing the same and I feel great. I have so much more energy, a better mood, a clearer mind, more focus, no more inflammation in my gut, and improved digestive functions. People are demonizing Keto because they think it was eating lots of butter and bacon, lol. No, the right keto is the clean/healthy keto. No refined carbs, sugar, and inflammatory (Omega 6) oils like vegetable oil, and canola oil. Replace them with healthy fats like avocado, animal fats, and nuts. Eat lots of cruciferous vegetables for fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Eat good protein like grass-fed beef, lamb, venison, and fatty fish like salmon, cod, and sardines. Replace vegetable oil with olive oil, grass-fed butter or ghee, avocado oil, and coconut oil (MCT). Replace milk with almond or macadamia milk. Replace wheat flour bread with almond/coconut flour versions. Eat walnuts, almonds, pecans, pistachios, or macadamia nuts, and not peanuts and cashew nuts. Drink lemon water, ACV, green tea, and black tea (has bergamot). Take supplements from trustworthy manufacturers for Vitamin A, D3, E, and K2, nutritional yeast for Vitamin B, cod liver oil, milk thistle for liver support, and tudca for gallbladder support and bile production. Eating grains and carbs for decades results in the fat build-up on the liver and less gallbladder function since the food industrial complex has been promoting a low-fat high-carb diet. Well, bile is mostly made of cholesterol and the gallbladder squirts out bile when the body senses that there is fat intake. If you don't eat enough fats (healthy fat of course), the bile will not be squirted out from the gallbladder, circulated in the digestive tract, dumps 5-10% of it out of the body, and recycle 90-95% of it back to the liver and gallbladder. The bile will turn into sludge and eventually, stones. One important thing about cholesterol. A very small percentage of it is from food intake. The majority of it is made by the liver as ordered by the brain since the brain is mostly made of cholesterol (the brain loves cholesterol). Most of the hormones and digestive enzymes are synthesized from cholesterol. Disclaimer, I'm not a doctor. Info based on RU-vid research and personal experience following a clean keto diet.

Everything in moderation. Too much saturated fat can't be great but the real culprit is too much sugars. And not just from sweets. A more high protein, moderate fats and moderate healthy carbs is the way to go. Its ok to have bacon sometimes. And after all of this, the original studies calling LDL the "bad" cholesterol were funded by Pharma back in the late 50s/60s. Studies have shown that people who have high LDL but moderate all the other markers inc blood pressure, weight, triglycerides live for a longer time, THERE IS NO DIRECT EVIDENCE THAT HIGH LDL is what causes arteriosclerosis.

@@Stewmade64 Plaque builds up in response to cardiovascular disease. It's trying to repair damage to the artery wall. If you are not eating foods that cause the inflammation that leads to CVD then no plaque will build up. Human beings have only been eating grains for 12000 years, before that we were hunter gatherers eating mainly animal protein and only ate carbohydrates for very limited times of seasonal availability. There is documented research about the poor health of civilisations that ate mostly grain based diets. Egyptian skeletons show dental decay and bone disease even in relatively young mummy's and they ate a grain and corn based diet with very little animal protein. Look up Arteriosclerosis sometime. Look at our teeth compared to another carnivore. Our teeth were not meant to eat meat. But comparing prehistoric “hunters & gatherer meat to today’s mass produced industrialized meat farms, you are getting hormones that don’t belong in humans, your getting allowable amounts of antibiotics, far from “nutrient” you can get. I’m not talking just grains, I’m talking a whole plant based diet. The same beneficial blood work and health improvements will occur without the worry about bacteria poisoning, hormones, or antibiotics. The meat and dairy industry also produces studies that you are most likely following in order to insure survival of their industries. I work with 5 cardiac surgeons that also agree with me. Reference ranges on lab tests for substances found in the human body are determined by statistical analysis with 95% of values being inside the normal range. Cholesterol is the only lab value that isn't done this way to make more people abnormal. Forty years ago the normal range for cholesterol was 150-300 mg/dl which is the proper way of determining the values. Today a proper statistical analysis of cholesterol would be lower due to intake of statins. Drug companies got labs to make the range below 200 so they could put most people on statins. I am a retired laboratory medical technologist. Most hormones are made from cholesterol so if you get your cholesterol too low you will have hormone deficiencies like low testosterone.
