And toxic work environment.

Been eating all natural from a very young age and have continued the same into my retirement years. Most people think I'm 1/2 my age. Ate very little procesed foods, fried and starchy carbs. Been exercising since highschool and continued into adulthood always concerned about weight gain. Do occasionally have a glass of wine or 1/2 beer. Get 1/2-2 hrs exercise 7 days a week. High plant based and green teas, nuts and seeds. Planning to eat 30% more ground meat and Liver for more collagen production and better overall longevity. Feels young and energetic, always doing some activity and love the outdoors.

As a person suffering from multiple rare genetic conditions, longevity to me means the possibility for a better quality of life. How come
@WorldUHproblumzSTEAKS8ONE
@WorldUHproblumzSTEAKS8ONE 4 месяца назад
Methylation generally is NOT a way to activate genes/transcription factors. Adding methyl groups SILENCES genes in most cases because it makes the DNA more stable/non reactive to RNA polymerase or transcription factors. Conversely, adding acetyl groups to histones is how genes and associated proteins are activated. Inhibiting this essentially makes the region of DNA more densely packed, so inaccessible by RNA polymerase and transcription factors. The more a cell differentiates for example, the more methylation it has because it should only express relatively few genes appropriate for its cellular identity.
@LeapOfFaaaith
@LeapOfFaaaith 4 месяца назад
I'm read this 5 times, barely understanding. Silencing genes to allow the cell to do it's specific job, that's a good thing, right? Struggling to understand
@WorldUHproblumzSTEAKS8ONE
@WorldUHproblumzSTEAKS8ONE 4 месяца назад
@LeapOfFaaaith yes when genes are silenced the cell is becoming more specific to do only its designated job if you will. Stem cells on the other hand are not yet specialized to be any given cell such as a muscle cell or liver cell. Stem cells are less methylation and so have the potential to express a grander array of genes which are eventually turned off when the cell becomes more specified. Tumor cells also have less methylation which is bad because then there can be inappropriate activation of genes involved in cell division, hence faster tumor division and growth. Acetylation is essentially the opposite, it acts to promote certain genes that are favorable
@graceg3250
@graceg3250 4 месяца назад
@@WorldUHproblumzSTEAKS8ONE I'm confused. Acetylation is the opposite of methylation? Or acetylation is the opposite of tumor cells and tumor cells are the opposite of methylation, so acetylation is the same as methylation?

And you still could include beans in this if you used low carb ones like soy (tofu, tempeh, unsweetened soy milk) or lupin flour. I have been considering doing keto for a while now, but I wasn't sure if it was healthy for longevity, as certain studies have shown that it can shorten life. But if you keep the saturated fat low using lean meats only and getting lipids from olive oil, nuts, seeds etc... this could negate any of the negative effects associated with keto. Dr. Eathan Weiss, is a cardiologist that does keto, and he eats similar to this, but he uses fish almost exclusively, I don't think he eats any chicken or red meat.

3 servings of a 4 oz peice of liver per week is 50 times the Rda for copper. If you keep eating like that you may experience copper toxicity. A short term study like this is dangerous misinformation. Anything in the short term can provide positive results. If you followed this diet for a year you stand a good chance of being anemic, getting diarhea and damaging your kidneys. Copper toxicity is also implicated in neurological and psychiatric disorders. Some people cant handle copper very well. In one year you would eat 600 times more copper than you needed and thats not including copper from other meat and vegetable sources. You would not see any adverse effects in such a short study.

I sincerely doubt that the impact is linear like that. It’s likely that at least half of the people in the study would test out older methylation than their chronological age. Far easier to reduce the age of someone who has aged beyond their years due to bad habits than to continue to reduce the age of people who eat healthy, exercise, sleep well, etc

So one main component of the diet… and it’s huge (I know this because I read the book on this diet) are adaptogens. If it would be only nutrient rich diet without the adaptogens, the results would not have been the same. These adaptogens are able to guide the nutrients where they are needed and turn on beneficial genes while turning off non beneficial genes.

Hey Thomas. You said in the takeaway that the micronutrient like fiber has the highest impact. I thought fiber was a Macronutrient.

What tells us that grains and legumes beinig low in this diet had any positive effect? Thre were so many variables, it's impossible to know which ones contributed and which ones didn't or even were detrimental. As a matter of fact, legumes and whole grains both have been associated with increased life expectancy. I would not expect to see positive effect from excluding them.

few suggestion or what i do: 1.) a smoothy (2-3 servings): 1 orange, just cut off the peel, easy n fast; 1 kiwi, some eat the peel i dont; few spoons blueberry; lil bit water, i filter it and 1-2 spoons psyllium husks; stevia drops to sweeten it - use a blender and you can remove the worst of the unsavory fibers (orange) from the blender cutouts. [warning too much psyllium husks or letting it sit for too long and it thickens] 2.) get an airfryer and look for frozen broccoli and sprouts ofc good quality to my experience the taste can be remarkably different so maybe you need to find out which brand. -sprouts: olive oil and salt while still frozen into 240°C 460°F or max for about 12 min, you want them lil burned outside and tender inside, remove and immediately while hot add pepper 1 spoon balsamic vinegar and 1 spoon raspberry or any other enhanced vinegar, stir so the vinigar evaporate and what you left with is kinda glazed. i hated sprouts now i cant get enough of, but only one brand satisfied me, im a picky eater tho. -broccoli : the sprouts recipe kinda works (180°C 360°F time differs a bit cut-size related), but there are lots of recipe you ll find on YT, many im sure to your liking (search for: broccoli air freyer). for both key is the "burned/crisp outside and tender inside" experience!!! so put in frozen. 3.) salad: ofc some salad; red onions, paprika, sunflowers and pumpkin seeds get dehydrated barberry; optional: chives, parsley, grated carrot,.. dressing is key! dont be afraid of lil bit of sugger here! either use enhanced vinegar and olive oil, or what ever fits your taste, i add in honey-fermented-garlic (super easy done, just put garlic in honey and let it sit for 1-2 weeks). 4.) liver (for those woh dont like the taste): remove some of the tatse by putting it in milk, but not over night or for too long (disolves the vitamins) 1/2 - 1 h is fine. cut in small pieces and remove all parts not easy to cut (where you feel resistance), also the big blood vessels. fine cut onions, garlic and an aple same cuts size as the liver. fry (mid-high heat) onions in ghee/clarified butter till first browning occurs, add gerlic and give it 20-30 sec., shove onions and garlic aside (or remove), add the aple fry for about a min. or less just caramelize one side is enough, shove aside (or remove) and add the liver on max. heat dont stir one side fryed is enough for roasting flavor! about 1 min depends on cut size, now while the liver is partial raw add everything backor mix it up, sprinkle 1 tea spoon flour over while mixing up, add tomato paste or lil bit t.-sauce, deglaze right away with lil bit red wine (nearly all wine should evaporate), add soup/-fond after that or water and instant soup. just as much to have a thick sauce, now add salt, peper and a bit of marjoram or spice to your liking keep it simple tho! [if necessary add ghee at any step] if you made it all the way here a lil bonus ;) my 3 principles: -it needs to be health, or you dont need it! -it needs to be done fast or easy, or you dont do it! -it needs to be tasty, or you dont eat it! (for every day meals)

You just have to get used to being relatively fatigued and bored and a bit depressed. I say relatively because it's reletive to people who are eating cheese burgers, cakes and energy drinks all day, then having a few beers every night all just to get their high! We're getting programmed more and more through social media that we should be happy and high all the time and that 'life is for living' or 'you only live once' type of mentality! I'm not saying never treat yourself, but we need to lower our baseline of happiness so it takes less to make us happy.

I wish for results, feel good, manage issues from not having a thyroid, lose weight, have energy and strength. With autoimmune diseases there is so much information to look into it becomes overwhelming. Thank you for sharing information it is much appreciated. I have lost a lot of weight but need to lose another 60 to 80 lbs. Goal 160 to 180 lbs. At a stand still going back and forth a little. It is frustrating.
