Hello, thank you for the useful information! I have one question, as a high school student here in Canada (specifically Ontario), what would be an "ideal path" for a high school student who is wanting to become a physical therapist (ex. what undergrad degree, what to do next etc.)? Or just any general advice?
@PTExamPrep
@PTExamPrep 2 года назад
I am so sorry for the delay! That is a great question. I think there are many routes you can take. Kinesiology, Anatomy and Physiology and Biology are common routes. My best advice would be to look at the pre-reqs at the Universities you plan to apply to. Then, compare it to programs at the undergrad level. I completed my degree in Business in sustainability and innovation, and took all my electives in Anatomy/Physiology etc.

Hi there! I’m asking for a family member. He did not complete the Physical Therapy course(5years) in the Philippines. He only completed for 4 years before flying to Canada because he was petitioned by his mother. He enrolled for PTA course in Canada. Currently working as PTA. Is there a chance he can still become a PHysical Therapist in Canada? How? Thanks in advance.

If he'd like to pursue a career as a physiotherapist in Canada, he will have to complete a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) in Canada or equivalent education in an international country. After that, he'll then have to pass the different licensing exams in Canada. Here's equivalent Philippines PT education programs to the Canadian MPT programs: www.alliancept.org/scp/ph/

Thanks! It was very helpful. I am planing to apply for Physiotherapy schools in Canada and also in Australia. Is there a list of all the 15 Canadian Schools, that offers the Master degree? and From where I can find the pre- approved international schools by the Canadian Alliance? Much appreciated! Thanks~

What degree would help the most with Becoming a physio therapist?
@PTExamPrep
@PTExamPrep 3 года назад
It depends on a candidate's country and university. Students generally have a MPT (masters of physiotherapy), DPT (doctor of physiotherapy), or BPT (bachelor in physiotherapy). There's a great resource on the CAPR's website where you can search precedent credentialling cases. Here's the link: www.alliancept.org/becoming-credentialled/source-country-profiles/

It's hard to answer that question without having more facts. Here's a good website where you can determine if your education is equivalent to a Canadian MPT program: www.alliancept.org/scp/

Awesome video, what is the salary range for physiotherapists? is it possible to make over 150k in this field?
@PTExamPrep
@PTExamPrep 3 года назад
Thanks, we're glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it's totally possible if you work in a private clinic (revenue split 65%+) or if you own your own private clinic. There is always a balance of work / life; especially in physiotherapy. You don't want to burn yourself out.

Hey! You would need to look into the specific requirements of each University in Canada that provides a Masters in Physiotherapy. It takes a bit of work, but worth it! If you have already completed your Physiotherapy training, then the process is much easier!

Hello! I am not familiar with the system you are speaking about. I can tell you that in Canada you have to complete your Masters in Physical Therapy in order to sit the exam. If you have more questions, please contact us at info@ptexamprep.ca

Thank you for your kind comments! In Canada, students earn a bachelors degree (sometimes in a related field like kinesiology) and then apply for a MPT program. There are a lot of factors to consider in your decision like cost, ease of immigration, and ultimately, what option gives you the best chance at passing the PCE! If you decide to do your BPT in India, check out our video How to Become a Physiotherapist in Canada by PT Exam Prep - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VZLntYpH77A.html

The best place to contact is the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators. They are responsible for evaluating and approving international physiotherapist's credentials: www.alliancept.org/considering-canada/ We also have a RU-vid video that you may find useful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jWfjYtTKuH4.html&ab_channel=PTExamPrep

Is passing the Written and Practical PCE enough to work in Canada? .. Are the exams taken in Canada or my country?
@PTExamPrep
@PTExamPrep 3 года назад
Great question! Normally they have to be taken in Canada, but since the pandemic, they allow students to take them from their home country. Once you pass the exams you can apply to get your license from the province you live in and work as a PT :)
