I just wanna say I love your dancing while you're talking about each coordinate. Not only is it adorable and fun, but it actually helps to show off the movement of the pieces and how they look in slightly different lighting.

hanging your dress and petti (upside down) in your bathroom and taking a hot shower is an easy way to steam your dress and re floof your petti if they aren’t too worn

It’s so interesting that you say you’re used to working with patterns and are biased towards them. As someone who has been interested in Lolita since I was like 12 (maybe??) I’ve always been reluctant to start because I see prints, even brand prints, as overwhelming. They’re such an integral part of Lolita, but quite frankly, I’ve never been interested. Monochrome OPs that play with the shape of collars and the texture of fabric, as well as JSKs that highlight a beautiful blouse kind of suit my tastes more. I’m curious to see how many others feel the same.
@b.6441
@b.6441 4 года назад
I don't hate all prints (there are actually quite a few I like) but I do agree that often prints can be way too busy for my taste. I can see why people like them but so many prints, especially the very pastel sweet ones are quite hard on my eyes. I wouldn't say prints on dresses are an important part of lolita either! A lot of classic and old school dresses are printless, and I find that the fabric on them tends to be better than some prints too, since there isn't a busy pattern for it to hide behind.

probably late to comment, but i agree. I wish there were more variety to non printed dresses rn, but i do like some prints
@winsomejacobs7548

same, there's just something about a lot of prints that just totally turn me off. i don't mind some less-imposing patterns (usually florals or baroque abstractions), but actual scenes and food prints are really unappealing to me

Finally video on how bodyline can look good! My first ever Lolita piece I got a few months ago off Lace Market was the Carousel JSK in the black and pink colorway. It was the first piece I saw that was in my price range that made my heart skip a beat. When I finally got it in April and put it on I felt so cute, it made me feel so confident which is what fashion should do. With that said I haven't posted to any communities yet because I'm afraid to say my dress is Bodyline even though I love it.

Me watching this video, Lor starts making dances in the coords, I'm dancing on my chair. Really like the ideas, as a goth sometimes its hard to start mixing solid pieces since 50+ shades of black, so i use grey, white and purple to add some more visual interest at times, instead of instantly going for lace, so even though this is about lolita coords it will help me look at some stationed pieces of my wardrobe and give them some more try outs with stuff i usually ignore with them.

This was an excellent video! The only criticism I have is that the blue in the second look is focused on your upper half, and there's no blue below your blouse so it feels unbalanced. Maybe blue shoes would work?

Hey I just wanted to say that if you aren't a fan of all the little bows around the bottom of the dress they come off really easily! They are just held on by a couple of threads. I am a gothic lolita and this was one of my first dresses back on 2012. I have used the little bows for other projects and I think it gives it a more classic/gothic look without them. Just thought I'd let people know in case they are interested in cutting them off! Sorry if this is a bother!

I've started wearing lolita by wearing brand on the weekend, but this year i started wearing casual lolita at work once or twice a week and i have to admit Bodyline has come very handy for me so far. Their dresses are very cute but cheap and sturdy (i mostly bought the more classical pieces) so I'm not too scared to wear them when I do a lot of physical work. So far I've been wearing 4 of them (2 op and 2 jsk) but i think I'll get 2 more jsks

I loved the video, your coords were so lovely and cute!! I've had my eye on this dress for years, it always seemed like one of the best on bodyline's site. I'm really happy to see that they lowered the price, as it used to always be more like $60! (I just bought my first second-hand brand skirt and I'm so excited to put together a coordinate for when we can go outside again!)

Loved this video, super informative and a lot of fun! I liked the coords with the patterned tights- usually it looks too busy to me, especially when paired with other patterns. I think the placement of bold color and and the restrained accompanying patterns that you used gave me some ideas as to how to pull that off in a satisfying way for me. I don't think I'll ever get tired of these videos with multiple coords based off one piece, it's super fascinating to see what you'll do next.

Thank you for posting this! I’ve been struggling with mixing & matching pieces and making coords feel more individual and unique. Plus this way you can make one dress feel like so many different outfits! Great when you’re just starting out & don’t have a ton of $$ for multiple dresses (I’ve found tops and accessories are often way cheaper than dresses themselves)

If you're looking for places to buy more wrist cuffs, I'd like to recommend Peacockalorum on Etsy! They recently added a bunch of (customize-able !!) wrist cuffs to their store, with loads of different options, from colors to charms to extra types of lace. I just bought my first three pairs of wrist cuffs from them, and they haven't arrived yet, so I can't attest to their comfort or quality, but the photos online look gorgeous!

A good place to get cuffs are to search "pet play cuffs" there are a bunch of websites and Etsy shops that make adorable lacey creations. I know some people are uncomfortable shopping on sites associated with bdsm, but just because something is labelled for one use doesn't mean it can't be used in other ways.

I have this dress in 4 different color ways it’s a nice and versatile piece for my wardrobe and one of the nicer quality items they sell, that being said Bodyline literally used to sell straight up replicas and costumes so their reputation wasn’t just gained because of a prejudice against cheaper lolita options.
