A demonstration of the one core strength exercise I do every morning when looking to run sub 2:30 in the Montreal marathon aged 50. @global-runner #marathoner #marathonrunner #marathontraining #injuryprevention
Nice one, short and simple! Will certainly give it a try. I'm very happy with the 5x30 sec sprints with 90 secs recovery that you adviced me to get faster, by the way 👌🏻. Part of my routine now. Did one this morning as warming up, then I started the easy jog and it turned out to be marathon tempo 😲. So made it a tempo / thresholdrun 😀. Finished by doing another 5x30secs sprints. Works very well 👍🏻!
Exactly! Short and simple. No equipment required. It takes 60 seconds. No excuses not to do it! That’s great to hear that you’re progressing! Another one I like is 15x1 minute on, 1 minute off. That’s a session in itself but it’s great to mix things up a bit!
Thanks for that tip! I really appriate that. You keep me accountable for doing the speedstuff 😄. It is fun too. I'm already about 10sec min faster. Hope you are doing fine with the running too.
Great exercise. I also recommend doing back bridges aka wheelposes. Great for posterior chain but also really good for core en overall mobility. Hope everything is going well with your injury..if you need time you can always do a fall marathon in october right?
That’s a great one too!! Yeah I’m taking each day as it comes at the moment. I’m running my key sessions and then cross training the other days. I’ll see where that leads me…! :)
Thanks for your comment! I don’t have an ab roller and I always find if I have to go and get equipment, I’m less likely to do the exercise. The thing I like most about this one is that I can just get up and do it!
