I was expecting a spectacular save. As understated as it looks, it is a close call, and deserved the title of near crash. Looks like you kept a straight line through the bend on the road. It just happened to be grass under the car. Nice driving. Great flow through traffic, without being an ass (pushing, waving arms etc.) Well done.

Nice lap! The car is quick and you also have a good driving line. Glad to hear your working on the hand position though as that will help you get faster, but more importantly it will improve your reaction times if the car ever steps out of line. Shuffle steering can get you into trouble quick.

You have a lot more confidence in the other drivers around there than I do, especially at the speed you are travelling. I find the driving standards/ability varies greatly around there so try to err on the site of caution. Nice drive all the same.

the car does seem beautifully balanced, and when paired with your driving skill this thing is scary fast! i must however ask that you take it easy when going through traffic. you literally had me on the edge of my seat... i damn near shit myself at 6:15!!!

Nice driving , i love it how you fully use the 4wd exiting the corners . Tis is a tru lesson in how to drive a sub . Really want to know your setup of the car .

Great lap, you were flying and and taking all the right lines (well obviously as you were overtaking evrybody and nobody came past you). Much better than most of the laps I've seen posted on here where some are so off the racing line it's scary to watch them go round the bends. Have to say the car looks a bit uncomfortable for everyday driving though.

The speed you take some of those corners is quite astounding to me, and I think I would have probably shat myself if I'd had a moment like you had with that Nissan Tiida (at least I think that's what it is). Also, just ignore Mr Jonsound. He may have a 455hp Impreza, but he aint got the balls of steel that you've got.

That part of track is tricky, it is wise not to overtake on that spot. Good thing is you kept your head cool and did nothing stupid at that speed in that situation. I'm sure you will remeber this chicane from now on :D

Really nice driving. I don't think you were forceful at ALL, just a whole load of people either not moving out the way/not seeing you or just trying to stay ahead of an obviously faster car. Good to see some people got out your way (like you should for a faster car) but everyone else made it look like an open day for people's first time.

@anarky277 Thanks for your constructive criticism.You are right my hand positioning on the wheel is bad but I'm looking at it now I've just started racing. Its never that bad when I drive my other car which is a modded 306 but the Scoob delivers its power like a modern diesel with a narrow power band so I'm alway between gears. It may also be down to having limited movement in my left wrist due to a bike accident. Anyway keep watching to see if I improve! PS your vids are great, love the DC2.

Why all the complaints about how he held or used the steering wheel. He has proven his own technique is a good one and works for him, he was also fast enough to avoid the hire car. I was taught to drive a certain way like everyone else, but there are better ways and you find them as you gain experience. People complaining don't really have much experience and probably have a much bigger engine in their little car! I enjoyed watching that lap, but wouldn't risk taking my car there!!!!

It's that at most, the short gearing makes it sound quicker perhaps, it wouldn't give out to a GT3 in a straightline with 465bhp.

ive had a tyre blow at were you had to avoid that corsa and i can tell you that my mate was clenched and i was a bit because when we came to a stop there was bout 2 inches between my car and the barrier good lap considering the traffic

I've been in this car at Cadwell and it is extremely capable - despite being a quick lap it's probably not in its element at the Ring. Most people with never see low 8mins, they may talk about it but unlikely to do it.

Sounds like you've got a lot of bolt on stuff there, my car isnt a road race set up its a race set up, everything is bespoke.For example I've moved the front wishbones 20mm and there running on spherical bearings front and rear The top mounts are also bespoke. As i'm running the wishbones in a different position i'm running a relocated purpose made anti roll bar (i think you call them sway bars). the camber is adjusted by dowls front and rear which again is manufacured by ourselves.

We run -4 front and -3 rear. All spring rates have been calculated with the weight of the car and the all mods and corners weight/set up has been done or overseen by Nick heart chief engineer for JHR racing (one of the top TOCA teams in the UK.

No DCCD and at that piont after market TMIC which worked great when cold but couldnt cope so I'm just in the process of fitting FMIC as I race the car as well and we worked out that power dropped to 320ish in a race situation. Also fitting F/G doors and plastic glass, want to loose 100kg's and get the car down to 1200kg without loosing any of its road orientation, as i still like drinving to the Ring. I like the way you've caged it with the interior, sort of a clubsport, the car looks very easy to drive by the way, real point and squirt. I know people are mugging off your hand positions a bit, but at the end of the day it's still a quick lap. The lack of heal and toe was annoying me more than the hand positions, I think you were just trying to counter for the slow steering rack of the impreza.

I was watching and enjoying up to the point of the incident, then noticed your hands, I don't want to get in to a slanging match but you know that is less than ideal. There must be a reason, is the steering lock really bad or is it very heavy? Or maybe the gear ratios aren't great for the Ring so need changing mid corner?

Yea they are reliable but watch out the rings though. That is the only setback if you wanna beef up the HP, you need to replace those ringlands. They tend to bust easily under high pressure. But if you just wanna drive for fun then it's ok, they will last as long as you keep the maintenance in check.
