Sam when you make that kind of connection, if you want a real secure fit, on each side of the connector cut two slices on it and if you can take the little sliver of metal out so it provides you a gap. Then when you tighten the clamp, it has room to squish down around the pipe. Though of course, great job.
I love your videos, they are a pleasure to watch. I appreciate your effort. Plus bonus for me today, this video reminds me of my much younger days working on my cars. Happy days 😂
Samantha, you are a special young lady. You remind me of myself. My stepfather taught me that if you are going to own a vehicle, you need to know how to work on it. Leana wants to learn also. Thank you for sharing this for other young women. ❤ 😊
I had never changed the cabin air filter on my wife's 2015 Camry, much easier than yours. When the filter was pulled out an obvious mouse nest and acorn debris was on the filter, reminding me that several years ago we had found a dead mouse in the car. Agree cabin air filters need attention every few years. Hope your inspection went ok, one of the gambles getting old cars is the inspection risk.
Love your videos. Watching a young woman do the things that has traditionally always been a mans thing is awesome. I hope you keep doing all these things you do and don't ever stop learning. Your dad is amazing with how supportive he is. Keep it coming Sam and can't wait to watch the next one!!!
Any part of an exhaust pipe near a bend is going to be a huge pain to fix. Perhaps some insulation/patch foil could seal up the gap on the aft facing part of the patch? You would need to sand the existing pipe back to clean metal, however.
great work samantha.. not bad for a 300 dollar subaru.. my father always said, rust never sleeps no matter what you do! keep up the awesome videos my friend. you're so talented too.
Great job Sam. I come from a time when females didn’t work on cars and had no idea how to fill a car with fuel. Haha I think it’s amazing that today women have taken an interest in doing their own auto repairs or construction work, I love it!❤. Your dog Lena is unbelievable, why did you hog her blanket? I also love it when you and your dad work together, that’s real family love and your dad was willing to help you as soon as he arrived home from work. That’s great. I am 64 yrs old and could do just about anything however, my low back and knee replacements prevent me from doing any work at all. I hate hiring someone when I know how to do the work myself. Keep up the great work Sam. ❤❤
I'm in the same boat at 81 but I still try to keep busy with things that I can do, full right knee replacement and lower back surgery 28 years ago and possibly again soon.
@@jmwarden1 I’ll bet if you heard me talk about my low back and knee pain, you would think that I read your diary. I hear others talk about what they are going through and it sounds like I told them what to say word for word. lol I hope you are feeling ok today, I just got back home from Costco and I’m about ready for my pain meds. Good luck to you and God bless.
hi, i think you needed to cut some slots on each end of the insert piece. As you have it, it cannot tighten up. no big deal to fix though. I like your vids a lot Sam. Nice one.👍
Sam, I hope that the new Outback to you will keep you in transportation for a long time, nice going on the minor repairs, hope that it lasts for a long time.
Well, sleeving that exhaust pipe made a huge difference in the noise level! Good job as always. I need to change my cabin filter. Not looking forward to it!
I'd examine how debris reaches the air filter. Should be just air. If debris gets into the filter chamber what's to prevent mice and baby alligators from getting in? Okay, the alligator things is a stretch. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Really like how your dad is all in on helping you. 👍👍👍
Hi Sam. Congrats on your new- to- you Subaru. It looks to be in pretty good condition overall. At minute 3:50 on the video it shows moderate rust on the under carriage . To prolong its life a good application of some kind of undercoating would work wonders. In Canada I've used "RustChek" product and had a 20 year old Malibu with very little rust . If something isn't used here the salt sprayed on highways eats the metal away in a couple of years.. Very creative exhaust repair Sam which should last as long as the rest of it. 👍👍👍🔧🙏🏻❤
Good job Sam!..... Awesome!...... Can i make a suggestion after running hot on a 1 hour run or more Re tighten all the nuts. Just a heads up Sam, there are video's on respraying interior plastic parts with can spray paint. or join a hot rod club they have great info!....i'm in one here on Vancouver Island.
Hi Samantha, a few years ago I went to my local Subaru parts dept to get a cabin filter for my 2000 Outback. They mandate that I give them my VIN when buying parts. They looked up my car and as it wasn't a dealer installed option when originally purchased, they refused to sell me one. I bought one from O'Reilly, no problem.
Rust converter Rust Oleum paint on the brake booster couple of small pieces of brake line with the proper fitting for it. the same thing as bleeding the brakes a little bit of that brake hose go right back into the master cylinder to bench bleed it
There is something really sexy and special about a woman who is capable of tackling some of the things I've watched you do! I have to respect it .. and an additional note .. I like your YT profile photo! 🙂 ❣
When bleeding brakes its advised to go from longest to shortest line. So pas aft/driver aft/pas front/drivers front. Unless editing deleted this. Secondly, glad you go for safety first😂.
Sam, you know lots of stuff, so I can’t question your methods, but I don’t think Subaru meant for you to take off ALL those dashboard pieces to change the cabin air filter. On everything I’ve owned in the last twenty five years, you pushed in each side of the glove box dropping it down to access the cabin filter- your Forrester did that I’d imagine. I can’t remember changing my kid’s 95 Suby Impreza filter - or if it had one, but the dealers service guys would give the manufacturer’s reps hell for a design that needs all that tear out. Great job on the exhaust pipe fix!
❤🐶🌼Lena su frazadita y sus miradas mas linda atenta a lo q haces Sam !! Abrazo grande !! Me encanta ese modelo de subaru y q lo arregles a disfrutarlo !!!
Hey samantha, in the future to save you sometime. They make exhaust band clamps that wrap around the pipe , you can order once you know the pipe diameter. Keep up the good work
Hi Samantha, Dennis here july 17th. I really love watching your channel. You are very smart and a pretty beautiful woman. I cant wait until you post a new video. Thank you
