Saying "I don't know" when you do not know is actually a sign of strength. Lying is a sign of weakness.

I think he was referring to those people who when asked to make a decision or asked what they want always say I don’t know.... I used to be like this. It displays a lack of confidence. But I agree, saying I don’t know in response to an actual question being asked is a sign of strength and vulnerability.

When I say I don't know its usually one of two reasons 1. I honestly don't know 2. I honestly don't give a shit. E.g "go left or right it doesn't matter"

The best way to define a person's true personality is... who are they when they think no one is looking? Some people are natural born actors.

Happens to me a lot. When I'm around people I know, I am completely shy, to show my true self. But on parties with just my friends, who I know would not judge me, I am a different person. Sometimes I just see myself changing, like from a third person perspective. It's like a switch inside me.

"Person" originated from the word 'persona' which in Latin means mask. So in some countries once turning a certain age you denounce your title and go to the woods for like a month and find out who you really are...because we are only what others tell us, and words separate things, so if you can see what the world looks like without labeling with words then that is true enlightenment. These "actors" figured out the God-drama. Really, they are all you and without your perception they wouldn't exist.. like do you breathe or does it breathe you? So everything outside of your physical self is technically you, and your physical self just a way of experiencing ones self. So rather than thinking a person is the same person because that is who they are look at it rather another way the universe is trying to express itself to you or itself persay..theory of relativity is we are the environment we are in, so, really it's all you. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk...

I love that you mention it's so important to read multiple signals and not rely on just one. There are so many generalizations when it comes to body language, with truth to them, but to get a true reading of someone, it's essential to keeping mind one's baseline behavior, the context and watch for multiple signals. Thanks for contributing to the body language conversation!

With saying "I guess" or "I don't know"... that can be a sign of emotional intelligence or honesty, not necessarily a lack of confidence. Sometimes adding "I don't know" lightly after a strong statement allows that statement to be better received by others. Or sometimes you ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW and admitting so shows maturity and courage. This video is full of presumptuous generalisations.
@blazepyre4870
@blazepyre4870 5 лет назад
It comes down to how you say it. If you say it in a way that shows that you accept your inexperience in a subject, you will be seen as more confident. However, if you say it in a way that indicates that you aren't willing to own what you say, or are otherwise insecure of others perceptions of your statement, you will look less confident.
@blackspiderman1887
@blackspiderman1887 4 года назад
saying "I guess" from my experience usually shows lack of confident. It's not saying the person isn't confident but maybe the question he was asked makes him not confident about making that choice. For example, If my girlfriend ask me "Do you want to watch 'The Notebook' with me tomorrow"? (Assuming I never saw it) And i respond, "Sure, I guess"..........................I'm not really confident about watching that movie. I dont' think i will find it interesting but because my girlfriend likes it I will watch it for her sake. Now if she ask me "Do you want to go watch Avengers Infinity War tomorrow" (assuming I never seen it before)I will respond "Heck Yeah"..........................See the difference. The first one I wasn't confident about watching the movie while the second question I was more confident because I expect based on my past experience that I will enjoy the movie. So there is some truth to what this youtuber is saying.

Being able to ready body language accurately is an incredibly helpful quality/skill. People rarely verbally tell you exactly what they really think but the truth will always be revealed very precisely via their body language, unless they've been trained in the CIA to manipulate it lol. I"ve tested out my housemates numerous times with various things by recording their conversations when I'm absent using a digital voice recorder,, and what I hear them say has ALWAYS reflected their body language (when I'm present)) exactly and I mean exactly. You have to be careful to interpret things in context and of course take into account a person's age, gender, state of being at that moment (tired, exhausted, angry, emotional, happy, etc etc), even ambient temperature, all of which affect their body language. Once learned, you can always tell exactly what's going on in a person's mind without them saying a word. It's basically like a superhuman power and it's well worth learning and practicing. One little facial expression given by someone for a fraction of a second can speak volumes about what they actually are thinking/feeling at a given moment, despite what they may say. And one thing I've learned is this. People generally speaking, are polite to another persons' face, not out of kindness and altruism, but through self-preservation. Historically, if you were horrible to the wrong person - in person - you might get a knife to the throat or similar. But being polite and kind always maximised your chances of survival in a cruel world full of dangerous people. Over time, we as a species have developed 'manners' to help us survive, it has nothing to do with caring about the other person necessarily. And so we see people being 'kind' when directly in front of another person, and yet super aggressive and mean when sheltered/protected, for example, by their vehicle. This is precisely why this is the case and is something I've learned through watching people and analysing their body language and behaviour. When in your vehicle, your survival is more dependent on another's approach to driving than it is on your own personal behaviour, and so we get angry when someone 'endangers' our well-being. This is why manners go out the window, at least much of the time. There are no hard and fast rules, of course there are many exceptions and a person may 'let someone in' however they're not actually doing it because they care about the other person, they're doing it because it makes them look 'good' and 'kind' and others are more inclined to then be 'kind' to them. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING boils down to survival and reproduction. From manners to falling in love, to emotions, to friendships and relationships, to money. Everything revolves around our own survival and the passing on of our own DNA to the next generation. It's inherently built in to every single thing we feel and do in life. It's all absolutely fascinating and when you truly understand what is going on and why, it makes life pretty easy actually. Good luck to you all in life. And happy people watching! Love and peace!

For decades, I have attempted to mask or mute my emotions and microreactions, because I noticed people get offended by my expressions or that they were gunning for my reaction. It strongly annoys me when people try to read my face or emotions, as I am proactively neutral or stoic. I imagine your methods work on a majority of non self-aware people, or those too in their feelings. It's too bad those types make it the norm behavior.

@MrURBETTA
@MrURBETTA 5 лет назад
So traits can definitely be weak. By weak I mean not good for anyone. Arrogance, stubbornness, lying, depressed, mad, all traits that can go into someone's personality that do not help them in life. Remember were all human, every personality trait exists in all of us, it's just up to us to let out what we want. We have to learn to control our own personality. I know this to be possible because I used to get mad super easy, didn't like it, so I thought to myself(because it's all in your head, your mind), what can I do to stop getting so mad. Everyone has their own way, same thing can be done for any emotion. Knowledge is power, knowing how to control ones emotion makes an extremely powerful human. Not knowing can lead to being very weak, probably a good person, nice person, but not strong. Btw every heard a woman say she doesnt like nice guys because they are too weak?
@greyrock928

Everyone has the capacity to be weak. It's not strength u Exhibit by ignoring your weaknesses and presenting them as a strength. Delusional and not self aware is the label I would call a person who thinks like that. Everyone has weakness somewhere. Nothing to be ashamed about. Know thyself and work on self improvement
@shivunplugged9675

Not looking someone straight in the eye isn't always a sign of weakness. I totally look through people sometimes because I don't want a deeper connection with them, especially if I have cause to have my guard up. I'm highly sensitive to other's energy and will limit our contact, including physical.

kris so i do my best to be mindful because life experiences made me humble, (hey that rhymes lol) but I am also confident. Many have noticed my walk and my ‘talk’. The generalization that a humble and kind person is weak has it’s exceptions. It helps to truly know yourself. Listen, psychology is a very diverse field. You have to realize that these types of videos NEED to be taken with a GRAIN OF SALT. Psychology is a proven science, BUT it's based around theories. It takes EXTENSIVE research to truly understand when to apply each bit of knowledge on body language to another person. These can be referred to as "clusters". Body language clusters need to be looked for when assessing a person based on their microexpressions. Again, if you can't grasp theories, psychological analysis will be hard for you since psychology isn't based on concrete facts, it's based on knowing what to look for and in what condition it is taking place.

You talk about this like you properly know what you're on about but the fact is that this school of psychology fell out of fashion in the early twentieth century. It's Freudian Psychoanalysis and does have some good points to make but issuing blanket statements about someone's personality due to the colour of their clothing is simply wrong. Take for example your man in the gym. What other reasons are there that he would wear all black? The behaviourist may say that he looked up to his dad, and when he used to work out with his dad as a kid, his dad would always wear black, so the behaviour is replicated. The cognitive psychologist may say that his school's sports kit was always black, so when he thinks of sports kit, the schema he has built up in his head of what a sports kit needs to look like will include that it is black. The evolutionary psychologist may suggest that because this man feels that the gym is a scary place, he instinctively wears colours associated with distance and power. The humanist psychologist would hug him and ask why but humanists aren't very god psychologists so we'll overlook them. The point is that you can't make huge sweeping statements about a person's character and past from something like clothing. Much more digging is required to figure out why a person acts like they do, and while the Freudian interpretation makes sense on the surface, without the introduction of other psychological techniques it's simple armchair psychology.

To be honest, semi of this stuff is true but what you stated as well is also true. People started giving colors meaning since the Boston Tea Party. Purple was all the rave in the rich and wealthy department; as for white was a sense of purity. As for now Red represents being a blood and blue a Crip, which I find ridiculous. All these colors are owned by the color wheel. I like red cause of it being a nice color, doesn't mean I'm associated in a gang. Same with wearing certain clothes that get passed for you being a fan of team or something in school this is very common.
@blazepyre4870
@blazepyre4870 5 лет назад
To test if these statements are true in others, you need to see multiple patterns of behavior which point to a certain kind of thought process. So you are correct in a sense, but the information can still be useful.

This Video helped me to understand a basic concept of life... In the last two years i took a deeper look into spirituality and the hermetic principles. Currently I´m thinking about the principle of cause and effect. Although I have already seen similar videos in the past, I was able to fully understand the cause of body language and behavior. Thanks for making this video!

I feel like a lot of this is only accurate some of the time. People aren't always as consistent as this suggests. Also, he talks about being able to read people, when really its more about making assumptions about people. I think the part about people's eyes dilating is probably fairly accurate, but there could be a lot of reasons someone is walking or speaking a certain way given whatever they are dealing with that day, the topic they are discussing, or whatever else may be having an effect on them.

Passivity doesn’t mean you have a weak personality at all. Passive people are usually calm under a lot of situations, and portraying a serene mind state during challenging circumstances is a great power to have that a lot of “active” personality people can’t practice because they are either subject to their emotions or passion

The argument could be made that your actions and decisions throughout your life determined which posessions that you currently have. I can play the blame game all day, but when it comes times to face reality, it was ultimately my choice to be where I am today. Of course there are other factors like upbringing and genetics, but i believe that in MOST cases, it is our own free will that shapes our lives.

Walking style plot twist: im in a wheelchair
@Skitdora2010
@Skitdora2010 6 лет назад
Someone could read you by how you use the chair to get around if someone else isn't pushing you around. They can see if you make jerky movement, many starts and stops, or if you move smoothly and confidently. They will read you by how you sit in the chair slumped, scrunched, rigid, relaxed ect as well. A confident person in a wheelchair will sit somewhat erect but still relaxed and they will move the chair in fluid purposeful movements, making eye contact and smiling at times.

My middle and youngest sisters were taken care of emotionally and financially. Even tho I was the ONLY obedient and responsible child in the family, bringing in excellent grades, no boyfriends to distract me... I only received criticism, and no help financially after high school. HA! Very interesting. I learned as a child that this world is extremely complicated and if you want to attain your goals, you need to concentrate on it day and night. By developing a concentration level which is very high, I always get what I want in this life. Another secret that has served me well is that nothing is ever what it seems to be and women are subject to change at a moments notice, which is also cool because by women in my reality changing, it gives me something to always think about because I love a challenge.

Love is what allows you to move millions of people, to rally them, to inspire them, to give them a vision to do something, love is what allows you to land someone on the moon, love is what allows you to tackle slavery or oppression of other sorts, love is what allows you to care about the environment, clean up the environment, to create better schools and that's ultimately all that people want. What do people want in the world? They want to be able to love. To love their family, to love their children, to love their nation and then to go beyond that and smoke DMT. Then we made love. Or rather we had an experience that vaguely related to making love but was a thing unto itself. We were both howling and singing in the glossolalia of DMT, rolling over the ground with everything awash in crawling, geometric hallucinations. She was transformed; words exist to describe what she became - pure anima, Kali, Leucothea, something erotic but not human, something addressed to the species and not to the individual, glittering with the possibility of cannibalism, madness, space, and extinction. She seemed on the edge of devouring me. “Reality was shattered. This kind of fucking occurs at the very limit of what is possible. Everything had been transformed into orgasm and visible, chattering oceans of elf language. Then I saw that where our bodies were glued together there was flowing, out of her, over me, over the floor of the roof, flowing everywhere, some sort of obsidian liquid, something dark and glittering, with color and lights within it. After the DMT flash, after the seizures of orgasms, after all that, this new thing shocked me to the core. What was this fluid and what was going on? I looked at it. I looked right into it, and it was the surface of my own mind reflected in front of me. Was it translinguistic matter, the living opalescent excrescence of the alchemical abyss of hyperspace, something generated by the sex act performed under such crazy conditions? I looked into it again and now saw in it the lama who taught me Tibetan, who would have been asleep a mile away. In the fluid I saw him, in the company of a monk I had never seen; they were looking into a mirrored plate. Then I realized that they were watching me! I could not understand it. I looked away from the fluid and away from my companion, so intense was her aura of strangeness.²

There is no such thing as heterosexual male and female friends. If she really friend zoned you she thinks she’s above your caliber of women. If you’re trying to build a relationship it’s gone, unless you want to wait around for her to settle after being turned down by the guy she really wants. If you’re simply trying to smash. Start dating women above her caliber, and seriously be into them. She will get jealous of the attention even if she’s not really interested. If she lets you in make sure you can please her and then YOU friend zone her.

I also spoke quietly for the same reason so ppl would underestimate me. I grew up in a hostile environment and moving and talking like this led me to win many fights. kids would start with me thinking I was an easy target for them to make a name for themselves. It also worked in sports acting slow and uncoordinated.

I’m an introvert that can read most people and people have trouble reading me or telling if I’m serious by my tone in voice and nonchalant demeanor. So when I’m actually angered or become worried it looks so out of character being that I’m always calm or collected. @blackspiderman1887
@blackspiderman1887 4 года назад
it's not just eye contact you know that shows you're lying. It's tone of voice, body movements, etc. For example, some people think no eye contact means your're lying and that's true many of the times, but there are people who practice their lie before hand. Therefore they will make full eye contact but what they say sounds so rehearsed that a perceptive person can tell they are lying despite making eye contact. It's usually easy to fool those people because it's almost impossible to prepare for any circumstantial question that may be asked so once they run out of rehearsed material they will start displaying the usual tell tale signs of a liar.

Griggs McCoy It was necessary because it’s true. Women need to understand they were created less powerful than men, and for a very good reason. If women cannot realize that, oh well. I will continue to preach that I belong in the home, rearing my children to walk wisely in their lives...eek....yaaak...I’ll probably move exclusively to Reddit to receive my downvotes.

Bro your videos are awesome don’t get me wrong . But this is very subjective man . So much Half truths , sounds like your just having fun and talking . I️ get the message but make sure to mention that what your saying is from your own experience, research, or what you’ve observed in your own life . This isn’t 100% truth
