In this video, we tackle the next set of attachments for our StarCraft 8-in-1 Heat Press: the Plate Press! We're really glad we tested these plate press attachments out when we did, and you'll see why in the video. Overall, we do some test sublimation presses with the StarCraft Plate Press to determine the size of our design and then sublimated plates with two different fun holiday designs that we purchased at Creative Fabrica.
So if you're interested in seeing how you can use the StarCraft 8-in-1 Swing Away Heat Press to sublimate on plates, this is the video for you!

It indeed good idea to test the machines on cheap materials first before on the actual item of purpose i once wasted a number of cups and plate .If i had seen this video ,i would have saved a lot of important items. But still glad since i upgrade machines annually, i will test them like you do.

I watched your video AFTER I sublimated my first plate using my Starcraft 8-in-1 heat press. And guess what? My plate winked at me too! It winked at me using the 5" plate press. I then attached the 6" plate press but instead of wasting a plate to see if it worked, I touched the heating element very early in its warmup stage, and wouldn't you know it, only half of that press was heating up! Actually, the opposite side heated up on the 6" plate press than the 5" plate press. Pretty weird, if you ask me. Anyway, I then took your advice and checked the other presses that came with the Heat Press and they all heated up just fine. Thankfully, I contacted Customer Service at 143 Vinyl where I bought the machine and they were wonderful. All I had to do was send them a picture of the plate that winked at me and they contacted Starcraft and within 4 days, I had a new 5' and 6" plate press. Which both work! Thanks for the video(s), I sure enjoy how the two of you work together. Maybe, if I get my wife to watch your videos, she would be willing to help me because you always seem to be having so much fun! We don't have a Rhodie(sp) though. Please keep the videos coming.

I have a quick question. What woulud you suggest to print on regular dinnerware we would use every day? Thanks for all you do!!!!
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 7 месяцев назад
We really wouldn't. Mostly, dinnerware is not made for sublimation. May not accept it, may break to heat stress of application. Even if there is regular dinner ware capable, it would have to be hand washed or risk fading and bleeding. Goodluck in your task, let us know if you do find something legit.

Were do u get the plates from our what kind can I use to sublimation on
@JustMightDIY

The plates have to be designed for sublimation to deal with the heat and the absorption of ink. They are listed in the description 😁

I totally give you guys a "9" awesome video. Oh I love the puppy so cute. I tried my hand at sublimation a plate but before i could get a good print i first had one look faded and then while one was pressing it cracked. Need I say these were sublimation plates which are very costly. My question any tips you can give me so i don't have any broken plate again i did the 400 for 150 secs. I really want to start on plates for Christmas commemorative plates. I really appreciate your help thank you
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 2 года назад
Thanks for the solid "9"! We would do 2 things to avoid broken plates. 1, make sure the pressure of the press is set appropriately. 2, try giving them a quick warm up before the actual press to lessen the temperature difference during the process Hope this helps, good luck!

What size do you recommend for both plates?
@JustMightDIY
@JustMightDIY 2 года назад
Hey! We recommend that you test yours in case there’s any variance. We ended up using images that were approximately 1”-1.5” less than the diameter, so you can use that as a guide. Hope this helps!
