I’m not sure you will get this a year after this was made but I am so thankful for this video. I had a big order and nothing was printing the right colors. I tried so many things and nothing worked until I found your tutorial. THANK YOU!
I know this tutorial is over a year old but thank you so much. You were the only one who explained it simply but directly and I was finally able to get the colorsync working on my mac with my epson printer!
From all the videos I've watched, this is one of the best in encompassing key information and addressing it in a clear and concise manner. Not only that, but it was the one that helped me finally resolve this frustrating issue I had been dealing with for so long. There are still some things to adjust and improve but basically got it fixed. Thanks SO much for sharing and practically saving my life as a sublimation printer! 😊🙏🏼
WOW! Been struggling with my colors for a week (new printer) and just like that, 5 minutes and all solved. Amazingly simple and well explained, thank youuuuu!
Wow just purchased an ET2803 and converted didn't realize all the aspects that may affect my print quality THANK YOU for such a clear and informative video for using PC or MAC
Just starting with sublimation printing as a hobby and this was such a great video. The information flow was intuitive, simplistically broken down and presented very well. Thank you
I certainly needed a refresher. Thanks! One thing not noted, when printing with Photoshop/Illustrator (and any other software with the option), is to choose the proper rendering intent for an image. Sometimes perceptual is ok, sometimes relative is better. This is something I've only found mentioned for photo editing, but is important or any printing through Photoshop and Illustrator.
I've been watching several videos on YT re ICC profile and I must say yours is defo the best, it's clear, easy to follow and also has both PC and Mac tutorial for people to follow through. Big Love!
Your video is Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you explanation made so much sense. In South Africa we are all being take for a ride with our first set of ink, there are many companies who aren't selling ICC profiles with their ink. You only find this out when your colour is off and you start googling.
Fellow south african here...i just bought an Epson 3150, how do I know if I need to change my ICC profile? My black ink came out brown after heat press, I tried twice. Does that mean I need to change my ICC?
My skat. Fellow South African here. I converted my Epson L3211 but cant find the right profile. 😪😪. Colours are so wrong. Grey comes out brown, pink comes out purple. Dont know what else to do
I finally got around to setting up my Epson 2720 a week or so ago for sublimation and struggled to find the right ICC profile. I was using A-Sub paper and HIIPPO ink. I tried several profiles, including the one that was supposed to be specifically for mine, but they just weren’t right. Reds were too pink, black was too green, and colors just weren’t vibrant. After going back and re-watching your videos, I eventually landed on one for the Epson 4700. I had to adjust my press time longer to get my blacks to turn out not green. But the thing that finally got me where I needed to be was to calibrate the monitor on my macbook. That made all the difference!!!
I just came across this video and watched this one with many many others. I can't get my ET 15000 to print good colors at all. I think I've tried everything.......I am a beginner however. I was doing fantastic and now seem to be going backwards. I use Hiipoo ink and A-sub paper. It's 4am and I will give it another shot after watching this video!
Great video; and very helpful as i was extremely frustrated with my Epson F570 printer; thankfully your Epson Hippoo 4700 ICC profile did the trick !! Thanks so much !!
Thanks for your video. I was going crazy, I converted an epson 2800 and the colors were not good, they were horrible. But in your video you said a key phrase to me, I tried other profiles from the same manufacturer and I downloaded 2760. Bingo, perfect colors. Again, thank you so much for making the video available.
This video was great! I was having issues with finding the right ICC profile and I ended up emailing the manufacturer (HTVront) to see if they had one and thankfully they did :) it's still slightly too blue, but it's SO much better!
Finally I found a video about how to install on pc lol. Hopefully this works for me as I'm trying to sublimate a full black tumbler with red writing and its showing up green
Love your video… all my prints come extremely red and my brown comes out red. You will be a lifesaver! I have an Epson ET 15000 is there an ICC profile for that one and I use Photoshop.
Thank you! I have a bunch of different ICC profiles in my drive (linked in the description below the video). Try these and see what works best for your printer!
For me nothing works, i have tried all these suggestions, changed ICM profiles, played around with color sliders, my A-sub ink and my epson ET-2760 are just not happy together, all my greens print bleuish all my oranges print yellowish etc.. the only color that prints properly is black. i have watched probably all the videos on youtube about this topic, it is just not happening.
I am glad I found your video. I am having trouble all of a sudden with my Epson ET2800 I use Cosmos Ink and Crafting Besties paper. When I print black or blue it is red/purple tinted. How do I fix this?
I have an Epson ET-2840 and that isn't shown as an option. I downloaded 2800 and 2850 but in Color Management it doesn't allow me to add a profile. What can I do?
Hi, I have an issue. I've gotten the correct ICC file from Hiipoo for my printer, ink and sub-a paper. however no matter which program or which setting I use the image is orange, it prints out pink and is still pink even after pressing. I've done 15 tests all with different setting. nothing changes. do you have any suggestions? thanks
Unfortunately, this is a hack and there have been a few people it hasn't worked for no matter what they've tried. I think that's the risk when converting a printer! You can try other ICC profiles if you'd like to see if they work, too.
What a great video, i will try all the icc profile that you share. I still struggle with the grey colour, its print brown, Hope the icc help a lot. Thank u so much,,
Thank you! Unfortunately, if I don't have the ICC profile in my drive, I don't know if it exists. Have you tried using other ICCs to get your color to be better?
I found pj profile made things worse. But noticed my computer as a check mark next to allow applications to perform icm color matching. Should i uncheck that
I was printing very well, I had before calibrated my monitor everything was well ,i also made a iMac icc profile directed from my Mac, Noticed the brightness did sublimation then all of a sudden an image I had printed for a tumbler damn colors came out light blue instead of teal help!
I have an epson 2720 using cosmo ink and printing with photoshop and using cosmo ink profile and my colors are still horrible mostly my reds they are orange and dark reds are brown. I am feeling defeated is there anything i can do? Please help! 😫
That's so frustrating! You can start by using this form to request an ICC from Printer's Jack, and then maybe see if you can have a conversation with them about getting that color right: printers-jack.com/pages/icc-newsletter-subscription You can also test other ICC profiles (even if they aren't for your printer or ink) or you can do some of the manual color corrections I mention in the video. Finally and worst-case scenario, you can drain the ink and try a different brand. I don't have a video for that but they do exist here on RU-vid. Hope that helps!
is there a profile for an epson printer et-2803, asub paper and hiippo ink? My colors just don't come out right. they are way more pink, red than brown.
You can check my drive for that specific printer, and if I don't have it you can try others: :drive.google.com/drive/folders/12lM5zT_pUG5pntAD73r6ktCKiXYlRhMr
I am on a Mac and have watched both of your amazing tutorials but I still can not find my ICC profile when I go to print. It is in my color sync library but not an option from any program during print. I've deleted and re-installed it. Deleted it and restarted and installed and restarted and still not there.... PLEASE HELP
Have you had a chance to watch the MAC video? I updated it recently, which may be helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S_h12_wtDc0.html
I have followed all of the instructions, have the correct drivers, have downloaded my hippoo ink ICC profile and dropped it into the correct place, but when I pull down the color matching profile menu, that profile doesn't appear. I tried to restart the machine just in case and still nothing. Its in the library when I look, but not in the dropdown, though a bunch of others are there. HELP!!
Is it possible that the name of the ICC profile changed in the drop-down? Is there anything else there that doesn’t look familiar? I’ve had that happen before.
I loved your video I should have researched more, unfortunately with amazon in spain because I live in portugal and the supplier did not pass me the partridge and does not even answer me, now I have an ink that I do not think about, the jetlifetech inks and I do not find anything about them very sad . but thanks
Hi I really appreciate your video. I have just purchased a printer Epson ecotank ET2826, and I work with a Mac, could you please help me get started, with what inks to buy, and how I get a ICC? I purchased some ink from the ink experts, but sadly had to cancel the order, due to they don’t offer a ICC for macs. My head hurts with so much information. I really thought it would be as easy as just putting your ink in the printer, and then if you go, sadly this is not the case. I really don’t want to purchase a windows computer, as I love my iMac. Thank you in advance, I have everything crossed that you can help me. ❤❤❤
How new is your Mac? The current operating system doesn't allow for ICC profiles (as far as I can tell), but older versions do as shown in my video. You may not even need an ICC profile. Some of the newer inks on Amazon (like Printer's Jack) say they are "ICC-free" but I haven't tested them. You can always try and adjust your color manually, too, without a profile!
Hi I am using a Mac and have the ET-2812 I have watched Angie's video on how to set this up, but I' unsure on what to do regarding the ICC. Do I have the right printer for this to work? I will be using Hiipoo ink and A-sub paper. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
Thank you for this video but I need help! I recently got the Epson ET-2800 printer and converted it with the Hiipoo sublimation ink and use A-Sub paper. I went to the website and downloaded the profile for the 2800. Added it to my ColorSync profile but when I open Photoshop or any other app, it doesn’t show the icc profile. I’ve downloaded and re-download it multiple times, and of course deleted it before I did that. My colours don’t print as vibrant as the picture on Photoshop when I heat press it. I am also using a MacBook..
I have a converted Epson et15000, sub ink is StarCraft. My gray colors always come out purple when subbing. Is there an ICC profile that can help with this? I'm at my wits end. I've tried numerous different settings and nothing seems to work. My normal settings are: Premium presentation matt, highest quality, color adobe rgb 2.2 gamma, bidirectional off, mirror on. I tried lowering magenta, upping blue and many more configurations. Nothing seems to work, it's making me not want to sublimate anymore. The program that I create in is Canva. Please help!
That's really frustrating! Could you somehow make sure the gray parts of your design are black ink only when you are designing? I don't think that's possible in Canva, but it might be in other design software. Unfortunately, any time you hack a printer there's a chance you won't be able to get it to work. You can try any of the ICC Profiles in my drive (linked below the video) to see if they help.
@@HeyLetsMakeStuff I tried just using blk/grayscale and that printed with a bluish cast. I would have questioned my printer being off but my friend also has a converted 15000, different ink and the same thing happened.
So when i click use ICM in my printer properties my reds all come out looking very pink (on the monitor) when I check use no color correction they appear red. Why are they looking pink instead of red? I have installed the icc profile & such.
@@muzzymel If your blacks are brown, you may be over pressing your project. You could also try other ICC profiles if the one you're using isn't working.
It's different for every program and printer unfortunately. You can try an ICC profile. You can try adjusting the color gradient wheel so the color looks better (away from yellow toward pink, I would think). It's a lot of trial and error.
Hi! Great video btw ..very detailed and thorough😊 I have a problem...some how at 07:28 on your screen , below the yellow warning ⚠️ reads DOCUMENT PROFILE...Mines doesn't say UNTAGGED RGB..and now I feel like since it doesn't say that that it's throwing my colors off...do you know how I can fix it so it can say UNTAGGED RGB?
I dont have half the settings its showing here for windows :( i dont have the premium matte paper option, mirror image option, my color correction only says epson vivid, i think my whole thing is possibly not set up correctly at all. i installed the ICC provided by ink experts but my colours are defo off
I don't think I would dare delete Epson original ICC profile if using more than 1 sublimation printer with different ICC profile, I would not be able set both for system to handle if you understand what I mean
Sublimation is a hobby for me. I don't intend to sell anything. At 70 and retired I don't want the hassle of dealing with taxes and setting up a company and on and on. Thought I would have to purchase/become a member of Photoshop to use the ICC. Not in my budget. I did see the as you put it a "convoluted" way to set it up on my PC and could still use the ICC. Hiipoo has one for my printer, yay! My question is this: I see you deleted the ICC that came with the printer and selected the downloaded one as default. I am in the process of testing several settings that I have seen on RU-vid, but I don't want to delete the ICC that came with the printer just yet because so far, I am favoring not using even the Adobe RGB. Can I leave the settings that came with the printer just in case I like it better? Not ready to completely jump off the cliff without the safety net. So basically, do I have I to delete the printer's ICC before I can use the ICC from Hiipoo?
Thanks so much for this! Any suggestions if the ICC install doesn't work? I have an Epson 4700 and use the Hiipoo ink and even with the install I can't get any pink tones to show up at all. I know you're not a computer expert, but if you have any thoughts, I'd appreciate it!
Hi there I have the Epson ET-15000 I was hoping you can help me out with the set up on the ICC program for my printer. All my prints come out the wrong color 😩 Please help 🙏🏻
I did but when I got to the printing part it does not give me the option to change ICC profile there is no color management and I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer. Do you think it could be the type of printer I have? @@HeyLetsMakeStuff
I am very confused. I just literally received my ET2800 this morning - I’m a total beginner. I thought I can convert the colors and that was it. My sister is an advanced user and she told me she’s never done this. Not sure what to do 😔 I don’t have photoshop, just LR. Btw, I’m on windows pc
You only need an ICC profile or manual color correction if your colors don’t look good after you’ve pressed. So do some printing and pressing and see what your colors look like before trying to do some color correction!
Hi. I am using a Mac. I downloaded the ICC profile for my Hiipo ink and Epson ET2800 printer. However, when I go to print and click Print Using System Dialog then click Layout, nothing comes up for Color Matching or Color Sync. Is there a step I am missing?
Do you know how I can go back to the original ICC profiles? my color problem is 10 times worse then before. it was just one color. I was having an issue with now it’s everything! I’ve been using it for a year and never had a problem until now.
I am so frustrated its not saving my profile I downloaded into the color sync. I have a Mac and when I download it into profiles it won't appear on my options to print. do you know what I could be doing wrong?
hello my name carmen and I will like to ask question i got printer Epson Et 2803 I keep having problem with the color i did chart color is not coming the same color I will bring back different color. ( i keep having the color blue is not working for me ) if you can help me this i appreciated. thank you
Hi there! Where do I find new ICC profiles? Looking for Hippoo ink, a sub paper, and Epson ET2800. I’m having issues on color with a big order (150 cups😬). How much do you think different blanks and paper make a difference with color?
I am not sure about new ICC profiles but I have a bunch linked in the google drive in the description of this video. You can try any of them, even if they don't match your particular model. I don't think paper matters much, but i do think the blank can make a big difference!
The G3060 is a Canon printer, not an Epson. As far as I understand, the Canon printers use a heated ink technology which is incompatible with sublimation ink. I believe the Epson EcoTank and Epson Workforce printers are the only printers suitable for converting with sublimation ink.
The F170 is a sublimation-specific printer so you shouldn't need an ICC Profile for that machine. If you're having color issues, I'd reach out to Epson.
Have you tested it on a 100% polyester fabric? I like to buy a yard from the fabric store solely for testing purposes. Often times, your blank can also alter the colors in addition to time/temp/pressure.
Yes! You should be able to. I don't have one for that printer specifically but try the 4700 profile in my Drive (linked below the video) and if that doesn't work, try some others :)
Help me please! I have downloaded the ICC file for my printer, ink and paper and still cannot get yellows or greens. My yellow line from the top of your sublimation printer test sheet is varying degrees of pink. The jellybeans (balloons?) are purple, magenta and white, the skin tones are pink, the cactus are blue on a pink background and I'm wasting paper and ink (and material) like I'm a mad woman! I've uninstalled and reinstalled my presets AND my printer. I love sublimation but hate my results. Any suggestions for what else to try???
Hey, I have a mac and from your tutorial I can just print (from preview) and use the icc profile? I've downloaded it all correctly and from preview print settings it's showing the icc profile as available, however I thought I had to have photoshop? please let me know if this is the case or I can just proceed as is.
It should work if you're able to choose the profile! That being said...ICC profiles are notoriously annoying and sometimes don't work despite doing everything right!
@@HeyLetsMakeStuff it’s .icc file. I have an older Mac desktop (probably 10 years old). The icc file is in my downloads folder, but when I drag it to color sync profiles folder it continues to just bounces back. Not sure what I can do, but I’ll keep trying. Thank you for your quick response.
PLEASE HELP....I just found the ICC files for my epson 2720 hiipoo sublimation ink. There are 12 files showing with no names or words or anything. How do I know which one/s to download and install? Nevermind I got it.
I’ve added the Hiippo ICC profile to the Color Sync profiles library but when I go to choose if from the drop down in Photoshop I can’t find it. Why?! Help please.
It is possible the name changed (it does occasionally) so look for something that looks vaguely Chinese. If that doesn't work, another question -- are you on a Mac?
