Great ranking man, and I like your personal touches to it. Effigy is my stone-cold classic and I like your placements for Pinnacle and Blood Oath! I feel they're still underrated! And agreed haha, Effigy is the best artwork of all time XD.
I was starting to think that I'm the only one who ranks Souls to Deny high in the ranking list. Thanks for defending that album because it's a masterpiece and one hell of a comeback album.
This is another band I've known about for ages but havent heard any songs. I gave Fleshgod a listen after your video so maybe I'll try Suffocation out too. Also the album art is definitely fucking awesome
Ahhh Suffocation is great but I have not listened to all their albums. But pierced from within is not only one of my favorite Death Metal albums ever. It’s one of my favorite metal records ever in general. (Also I believe it’s time you do a Bathory and a Ahab Ranking)
Effigy of the forgotten is a top 20 of all time album for me. Hands down. Its suffocation best album imo. Also some of the timing changes were way ahead of their time.

What about Despise the Sun? It might be an EP, but the material on it is of the same high quality as Suffocation's best full lengths like Pierced and Effigy, and I would definitely rank it their third best after those two only due to it's short length. Hell, Funeral Inception is a Suffocation staple song, the title track has the sickest riffs they ever wrote, and the rerecorded version of Catatonia is ten times more intense than the original on Human Waste.
Suffocation are amazing. Along with Broken Hope, the pioneers of brutal death metal. Effigy of the Forgotten is an all time classic. I'd recommend Broken Hope for those who want to hear the contrast to the tech side of brutal death metal in favor of a more catchy, groovy, and grinding sound. Check out the first two albums of Broken Hope (Swamped in Gore and the Bowels of Repugance). Both bands are important to brutal death metal that paved the way for bands like Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, Disgorge, Nile, among others.

Frank sounds like a damn beast that crawled out of a pit on that one! I agree that Breeding the Spawn has trash production but the songwriting slays way too much to toss it at the bottom

My favourite death metal band... previously. Now they became a coverband with guy on vocals who doesn't want to play drums in other great band to become a rockstar. Ok, who am I to decide My rank worst to best: Of the dark light - new drummer and guitarist... no, NO. Poor AF Pinnacle of Bedlam - AMAZING riffs and arrangements destroyed by awful sound production Suffocation - love it, but sometimes it's kinda boring to listen Blood Oath - slow but great, groovy and proof of top notch musicianship Breeding the Spawn - masterpiece destroyed by bad production. But it is artistic AF, Suffo never did that after Souls To Deny - great comeback. Beside of some boring stuff I love it so much Effigy and Pierced. It's like Peace and Rust by Megadeth. Impossible to decide. Anyway thanks for ranking!
