Good Evening Skinner Park, and good evening to Queen's Park!! That opening phrase brought back memories man! I didn't see the Dimanche Gras that year, but I taped it on cassette... The late 80's and early 90's were a golden age in political commentary...It's just a shame that this current PNM administration is suffocating the political commentary....
It does grieve me that I wasn't even born yet to see these calypsonians live. But the worst thing is what calypso is today the art form has lost it's sting.
The best song he ever sang....if you come across the longer version, post it please:) he sang it in the Revue calypso tent. That version is about 7 verses long. I remember the crowd kept calling him back on stage and Sprangalang was hosting...real bacchanal :)
