Arkham Batman was god tier in both gaming and comics He defeated death stroke and Ras Al ghoul in hand to hand combat, fought countless ninjas and lady shiva. Beat a 10 foot alligator and super human bane, fought an entire militia. And he just sits on a park bench and gets shot in the head by Harlee.

Hate this game. How the hell did this game both respected yet disrespected Batman at the same. especially since this is Kevin's last role. I refuse to see this is a part of the arkham game. Maybe a split timeline but not within the canon story. Did they really think no one would be mad at this. Someone is definitely getting fired.

If you consider that there was the part inside of him still conscious, aware, and forced to witness himself murdering his Bat-family and the citizens he swore to protect, then it's not far-fetched to believe that somewhere deep down, he maneuvered his brainwashed self into being defeated and subsequently killed--because he was too dangerous when he was not in control of himself and on top of that, all of his other contingencies failed. And how poetic that he would die the same way his parents did--undignified, by a loaded gun, by a criminal on the street.

Batman should have came to his senses by the end. There is no reason to kill such an icon in gaming just for “shock value”.

My 2 cents is that Batman always had to die in this game. There was no way around it with or without Conroy being alive. That being said, they chose such an anticlimactic way to do it. Whether or not Bruce was still conscious inside the mind control, his body and spirit should've remained instead of being motionless (unrestrained mind you). Batman is the personification of willpower, moreso than even Green Lantern, and as such he can fight through nearly any physical abuse. He got shot a few times and got tired. There was no nerve element to Harley's fear gas, otherwise the rest of the squad would be immobile as well. To top it off, he simply gets shot in the head on a park bench. No grandiose send-off, nothing cinematic about it, just a simple headshot and they move onto Superman. I won't scold Rocksteady, the entire Internet already it, but I will give ideas on how I would've done it differently. Firstly, Batman would've either been a double agent or would've snapped himself out of the mind control. If anyone could snap out of it, it would be him. If he was a double agent, I could see them bringing in the Zur-en-arrh personality. One personality is taken over, the other is helping the squad. Secondly, I would've given him a true hero's sendoff. He would've died giving a deciding blow to Brainiac that would give the squad a fighting chance against him. He would've gone out like a hero, not like his parents. This Batman deserved more than he got. Say what you will about the fates of the other Leaguers, but we never knew them. We followed this Batman through hell and back multiple times. I think they pulled a "Last Jedi Luke Skywalker" all over again

Honestly they could have had Batman regain his senses and die via a last stand heroic sacrifice deal. That would have been fine. Death by Headshot from the slutty clown psycho sidekick of his long dead archnemesis was in no way a good or even entertaining end for the Dark Knight. Absolutely awful.

This game is such missed potential. Why did it have to be “kill the Justice League”? To have it be “save the Justice League” would of been way more interesting and would have definitely caught on a lot better. Seeing the villains of the Justice League stick out their necks to bring them back would have been so poetic.

Tbh I’m not disappointed with Batman dying at a park sitting on a bench deal, it’s shows how the man behind the mask is a normal human being and all it takes is one bad day and a bullet in the head to finish the job . What I’m mad asf with is the path, the road and what it took to capture Batman. They disrespected the point on image and perspective of Batman that they produced in their past and phenomenal Arkham games. We had the chance to experience the perspective of what it’s like to now be the haunted, the perspective of the people who we as Batman terrified and beat the shit out of, being haunted of something that is more intelligent always studying you in the shadows and planning how to expose your weakness something terrific that in reality is just a human. If somehow in the game we would manage to outsmart him in a creative and climatic way while experiencing the true fear of being the target of Batman then this ending would be a fitting one and actually feel satisfied cause of the hard obstacle that we would need to go through. It was obvious from the scenario of the game, but the fact that they killed these heroes so easily, that is, even the reason for their deaths, was extremely absurd. First-class villains such as Arkham Batman, especially Joker, Deathstroke and Scarecrow could not kill the man. Second-class villains, whom Batman caught as a daily routine, killed the man, and with a simple bullet, I was wondering how these characters could do it. I didn't expect that they would kill me anyway, it turned out to be lower than my expectations.

Wait so Lex experimented on Batman and just DIDN'T FIND A CURE? NOTHING? NADA? Bro Lex is a genius and could have easily figured out that if you "Kill" him the brainwashing will go away and then you can revive him right after. Having Batman team up with the SS would have been a crazy moral decision for Bats and the Squad. Could have even had Bats say that he needs the Squad to hold off the Brainwashed League while he enacts his plan. Later in the game you get more League members to join the fight and we could have got so many cool Character cameos during a final fight. Not to mention this is Arkhamverse Batman, Batman in general always has a backup plan for his backup plan but Arkhamverse Batman stands on more business than most and would beat Brainiacs ass especially after all the brainwashing he's already been through. Hell imagine if Bats unleashed the Joker from his mind to attack Brainiac in a mind battle? That would have been BONKERS AND it would have let Hamill and Conroy team up one last time! I know it won't change the fact Kevin is gone (Rest now our Dark Knight) but..... RETCON! RETCON! RETCON!

But for that to happen the company needs to put its heart and mind just like other games eg: God of War, Zelda, or their own game the Arkham trilogy. my other guess is that maybe Rocksteady ran into time constraints, where they needed more time to make the game better, but they didn't have enough money and resources to push the deadline further, so they just pushed out whatever they had. (but again this can be highly unlikely given that the storyline planning is done way before the game making)

It looks like this was a suspenseful set up for Kevin Conroy to return in the sequel to this game...then he died. This got me thinking about the concept of a horror game where you play as a criminal being stalked by Batman. Here’s my pitch so far: You play a low level thug being held in Arkham Asylum. One of the big players (Joker, The Scarecrow, whoever) has enacted some grand scheme far beyond your knowledge and suddenly and without warning all the staff and guards have been killed or run off or gone mad and all the cells have been opened so the inmates can run loose. Of course, Batman eventually shows up to restore order. Your goal is to escape from the asylum while avoiding Batman. It would be something akin to Outlast or Alien: Isolation. The idea of your character facing Batman directly is laughable; he would beat you to a pulp almost immediately. You will have to run, hide and cause distractions to slip past him and hope to go underneath his notice. I see something akin to the Alien: Isolation AI where Batman is patrolling the asylum semi randomly and you have to try and get past him without being noticed. Imagine the shadows and the flickering lights in the dark, decrepit corridors. The ancient pipe work whistling and clanging in the walls. Maybe a vent or ceiling tile suddenly drops in front of you. Is that him? The Batman? You see another inmate at the other end of a long, dimly lit hallway and suddenly a swirling black shape drops from the ceiling and carries them off into the shadows, kicking and screaming in terror. There could be a section where you encounter The Scarecrow and he intends to use YOU as a distraction, and infects you with his fear toxin. Now you have to navigate a distorted, nightmare version of the asylum that’s like the other world in Silent Hill, all the while being stalked by demonic Batmen who may or may not even exist. I swear, there’s a really good game in here somewhere.

Suicide squad would stand 0 chance against the justice league. This game shouldn’t exist. Just make a superman game or better yet a justice league game
