The shills can go screw themselves. I already made my decision long before the game came out that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was garbage to begin with. Plus, I wouldn't really care much about IGN's review either because their reviews on games, comics, films, and TV were never that good and aren't sometimes completely honest with viewers.
Imagine if the story for this game had been Batman taking on the Brainiac-controlled Justice League, instead of the Squad doing it. He heads to Metropolis, armed with the Fear Toxin he started using after the end of Arkham Knight, going full-on Tower of Babel mode and using contingency plans he thought up to take each of them down one by one (non-lethally of course) and, after freeing them all from the mind-control, leads a full-scale assault on Brainiac and his ship as the leader of the League. Maybe he’s forced to ask for help from Lex Luthor at some point, using Lex’s advanced technology to finalise his plans and create new gadgets for taking on the League. I imagine Lex has a vault full of Kryptonite stashed somewhere, so that mostly covers Supes, some cryo tech or Speed Force disrupters for Flash, yellow-coloured weaponry and the Fear Toxin for Green Lantern and maybe just a full-on martial arts duel with Wonder Woman, à la the Arkham Origins Deathstroke fight. Bruce could end up getting/constructing a Batman Beyond or Dark Knight Returns style batsuit early on that augments his strength and stamina, letting him fight more evenly with the super-powered enemies he’s going up against. The possibilities for what this story could have been are immense and if the leaks are true, they just decided to throw all of that potential in the trash for the sake of making a game that’ll be forgotten in less than a month after it releases.
And we could've properly explored the dynamics between Batman and the other members of the Justice League. Rocksteady could've redeemed itself by giving us some spectacular boss fights in this game.
I guarantee, that the shills will be yes men/women who want their access as modern journalists are. Yet once the fanbase and core audience either hates or dislikes the product, the shills will scuttle away. Definitely reminds me of the avengers game

Most people won’t care one way or another and those that do will either like things about it but not all and those that will dislike much of it except a few things (like experiencing Kevin Conroy’s final role or seeing the JL adapted into a game) despite having to kill the JL.
Having watched IGN and Gamespot's previews, both don't really shill for WB or Rocksteady. They give things they like and also are very vocal about things they don't seem to click with.
it sounds like fun and would make sense to make them like super bosses, but the game itself is strictly live service trash and warner bros would absolutely make more trash if this game succeeds

I hate the fake deadshot cop out. Its dumb and it obvious they changed his race and appearance to more closely match The film version of deadshot and now have made batman stupid for not being able to deduce the deadshot he fought on and off for deacdes was a fake the whole time. I think what they did was wack but it doesn’t make Batman retroactively stupid. The dead shot from squad retired from the assassin thing before he ever got on Batman’s radar. And even if Batman did figure it out ,which the game implies, it wasn’t important in the Arkham games so why would he have brought it up anywhere in those? (It is wack that in truth it wasn’t brought up cause it wasn’t a thing) but it still doesn’t make him stupid because for all purposes who he fought was dead shot.

To play devil's advocate, IGN liked the story in terms of the character interactions and group dynamic. He just didn't feel compelled because he has a feeling it will be rewritten like Flashpoint since it's highly unlikely they will permanently kill off the JL. I don't think he was hypocritical watching the preview. The character banter overlapping over one another was an issue for him during gameplay, but the story cutscenes themselves were better written.

IGN seems to be changing direction and becoming more credible in recent years. It's a slow transition but they've been calling out the industry more recently. But I think the reviewers point is that the story is high quality(good dialogue/cutscenes) but he doesn't like the direction they're going with it.

I dont see how rocksteady shifted away from arkham style combat, it flowed like almost perfectly, and instead went to shooting guns, the ez way out that 90% of games have? it seems like a money grab with little work put in. The world looks so empty with only purple minions with no variation like what arkham asylum had (15 years ago), they killed arkham batman with a gun, when the guy literally saved gotham in one night in arkham knight, but sure he dies to a gun. imma wait for someone to pirate it for me so i get some enjoyment for free.
As a fan of rocksteady and the Batman Arkham games I sincerely hope the game is fun and worth it but I’m not excited for it. I will eventually give it a proper chance but not for awhile.

The game to me is just a trend chasing game. Building a game around a live service model. Outdated game play, i wonder where to shoot this enemy? maybe the big purple weak spots? Enemies dropping ammo pack's, defend this spot against waves of enemies etc. I honestly don't think this game is going to do that well.
Honestly I’m not surprised because of how much of a mess this game has been since the beginning and the leaks and how messy the story is and errors in continuity everywhere like the review to me sums up the game.
Honestly I am not surprised even though the title is not misleading for better or worse but how bad the Arkhamverse universe brand will turn out once it officially comes idk. But I do want to clarify something about my last comment I have to take a L I was wrong about the Rocksteady pitch of a Superman game that was actually from WB Montreal's cancelled pitch. It's just ao unfortunate that it took 9 years tor Rocksteady to make another game after their last one and I know stuff happened but wow. As for WB Montreal the fact it's been 9 years since their last game and although I beat Gotham Knights and it's 5/10. The reason I wrote this even though their has been other DC but not a triple A quality games in a while and the fact WB Montreal has three cancelled games it's ridiculous. One the Suicide Squad game by them, a Superman game and Project Sabbath aka Damian Wayne game that later transformed into Gotham Knights. And the fact Marvel has more upcoming games by other companies is sad. And lastly this situation just dumb and honestly in my opinion. The Suicide Squad game should have been a Superman game to help tie in for Superman Legacy and for WB Montreal get a time machine and go back. And not cancelled the Damian Wayne game because honestly with the Nemesis system and the other stuff that was going to happen would helped make it stand out.
This feels like a game that will be seen as "underrated" or a "hidden gem" in a few years even though it doesn't deserve that and in reality its just that people don't have any new games with these characters and in there head they make it better than it actually is
It looks like a weak attempt at fan service masked as a mundane live service game. I did reserve a day one rental from GameFly just to satisfy my DC fanboyism.
Honest opinion that I know people aren't gonna like but the James Gunn/ Warner Discovery really does suck. Film wise we have a Batman not in universe that only works if you deny everything you know about the character and say he's Batman, Flash film failed, Aquaman was barely recognized alongside Blue Beatle, and alot of promises with very little backing just telling fans "Oh it's coming". Games wise well just look at Gotham Knights and this game. The animated movies have completely fell off in music, style, and stories which is funny because they are study "adapting" iconic comics which in reality comes off as bad fanfiction and the only show that seems to be doing well is Harley Quinn.... do what you will with that. People blame Synder for alot of the problems, blame Warner Media which is not untrue and definitely do deserve some blame but look what the "fans" have gotten since Synder left absolutely nothing
I noticed that a lot of the people who played the game have gave out similar thoughts, even when they disagree on whether or not the game looks good. There's a lot of people saying that the gameplay itself feels energetic and fast paced, with the main issues brought up being a minor issue of the default settings having the damage numbers take up too much of the screen (reportedly, there is a option to adjust that) and the less minor issue of the gameplay sometimes becoming chaotic and difficult to keep track of what's going on, which the Flash boss fight is frequently listed as an example of. The former issue could be easily fixed, but the latter issue could apply to the full game, so I consider that something reasonable to be concerned. It might turn out to become more annoying after playing the game for a while or less annoying once you've gotten used to how the game works. The weapons is something I've heard get said wasn't really seen closely during the early gameplay, so that's something else I'm keeping an eye on because it's looks like it's going to be a major focus of the game. It seems like you can make builds around different combinations of weapons and I've heard it compared to Borderlands, which is one of my favorite games. But Borderlands is a much grindier game than the Batman Arkham games, and my opinion may not necessarily be reflective of other Arkhamverse fan. So even if I end up liking the game because it's a shooter game, I wouldn't blame people if they disliked the game for that same reason. The story writing is well liked from a character standpoint, and the main complaints I've seen about the writing are dislike towards the premise of Killing the Justice League itself and the Deadshot Retcon. It's still unclear if the game will actually let us kill the Justice League or if the story is just playing around with how impossible the task would be. We'll probably have to wait for the game to release to find out, which makes the game's title feel a lot like an annoying clickbait video where you want to know what it's about just because of the title alone. I don't personally care enough about the changes to Deadshot to have an opinion on it.
i think everyone knew it was going to suck from the get go. Live Service is dying before our eyes unless its a very niche thing or was one of the starters. People want single player games or an MP mode they dont have to worry about FOMO or anything. Like i said before, this is going to sadly kill Rocksteady for a while, cause loads of poor layoffs and put Arkham and Batman in the dirt for some time.

Sunset overdrive with DC characters and crap story. Gameplay is probably decent good for a month or two. Till next game. Will it have lasting impact like Arkham, probably not. But time will tell

I'm just glad I trusted my instincts as soon as I heard live service and that the founders of rock study were leaving I knew that this was a skip for me I didn't trust it as a live service model especially after seeing how well Gotham knights did wasn't that supposed to be a live service as well? Personally I might wait until the game goes on sale, if it actually is decent then I might buy it earlier but tbh I’m not sure about the game it seems to be in a Gotham Knights state where it might be ok or boring. I trust the story will be better than Gotham Knights and Avengers but maybe worse than Origins

The odds of ALL of the other people being shills except for JUST IGN don’t seem likely (some of them definitely are though) I feel like it’s just about if you as an individual like the game or not. Complaining about super villains being dark and the flash being too quick during the game is a bit weird though lol

0:50 Arkham City has a 9.5…? IGN’s scale is difficult to interpret but the problem is not as simple as it’s inverted. The Arkham Trilogy proves that. Hell, most nintendo games prove that. I’m not gonna put much stock in story analysis from them. They give almost every Star Wars show 8 or 9/10, which is just laughable, especially when you consider Ahsoka S1 has the same score as Martin Scorsese’s recent film. The inconsistent criticism in the SS game review is pretty standard. They don’t seem to consolidate their writers’ opinions. They have both a video saying Ahsoka is a 9/10 and also that it’s poorly written and indicative of the problems of recent star wars.
It’s so clear to see that a lot of the RU-vidrs who gave their “honest” opinion on the game just didn’t want to lose their perks from WB. They are trying so hard to defend such a trash game man 😂

To me it should of been another Akrham game. U could have the story of JL coming into its own but w/o Batman bcuz of AK events. I’ve heard a lot of people, specifically prominent Comic RU-vidrs (Comicstorian and a few others), really enjoyed this game. As you pointed out, IGN goes back and forth. I feel like they cater a lot to what they think people are going to say about what ever game is coming out. Like you said, there’s a lot of back and forth in their review. They probably wrote the first half a while ago, then when people started shitting on SSKTJL in the last 2 months, they quickly half assly rewrote it to cater to people. The more they cater, the more support they get from people. More support = More money

I don't get the hate. You say it's gonna be just like sunset overdrive and then call it an average 3rd person shooter. People love sunset overdrive (myself included). Sunset overdrive is repetitive yet tons of fun with a bright colorful world to traverse and this looks to do the same thing while expanding upon it. I'm really looking forward to it
First off i have Batman Arkham Origins,Batman Arkham Asylum,Batman Arkham City,Batman Arkham Knight for my Xbox Series X and i love those games i am going to buy Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League the Digital Deluxe Edition ive read some comments where people say cant believe this is the sequel to Batman Arkham Knight well its not its a spin off in the Arkhamverse i will give it a go im excited for the story and the lore and easter eggs that will be in the game trouble is people dont like change so they hate it im glad they are doing sonething different gameplay wise i know alot of people say its a definite no because its a live service game and Marvels Avengers failed because it was a live service game it didnt Marvels Avengers failed because of bad marketing overpriced dlc and not listening to what the fans wanted and they tried a different strategy where as Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League is not doing that they are doing a different strategy you only have to look at there developer's videos to see that there will be one company that will be able to make a live service game a success and Rocksteady Studio's might just be that company lets just say they pull the impossible off make it a success then think of all the extra story missions we will get differebt dlc characters cosmetics and other modes and bonus content that will come in the future endless possibilities so they might pull it off they might not all im saying is dont dismiss or hate on the game because its a different game or its not a batman game if people give it a fair and honest go and form there own opinion once they've played the game and dont just hate on it because they are just going off youtubers opinions because its popular to trash the game that nobody apart from a select number of people have actually played then Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League might just surprise all of us if its given a fair honest chance 😀
My personal grief with what I've been seeing aside is that this review sounds like gas lighting the game. With no chance to replay after the first run of the game. This is legitimately disappointing 😞 😕.
Yup! This is exactly why I get upset because some of my favorite content creators don't tell the truth now. They used to before they blew up and now they try to approach things with the glass being half full. Fully knowing that the game looks like trash!
I'll say the visuals do have that Arkham Knight visual greatness going for it. I'm glad this game got delayed as I've had multiple friends/family members who don't play games see the commercials when I'm with them and them telling me it looks fun and I should get it and I know they would have gotten it for me as a Christmas present if it came out last year... A very small part of me would like a copy as I see this being Dlisted fast and wanting to have a "Rare" game so to speak as someone got me The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game as they knew I'm a big Spider-Man fan and I got rid of it right before Activision lost the license and I saw copies being sold up to $500 and I kicked myself for getting rid of it so soon
Listen Luke I get being cynical about the game and trusting the RU-vid guys opinion is obviously wrong. Overly positive, whether because actually shilling, or just overly positive with games in general. Destin, the ign writer, has covered destiny 2 for years. He ran a podcast for years called fireteam chat(may still be around) he’s always been critical and given his honest thoughts even while getting flown out for destiny previews. ign has never backed down from his opinion. The back and forth wasn’t some mandate that’s how he is. Very honest but looks for the good while calling out the bad. His views on the story aren’t some tennis ball being whacked by editor to writer. It’s very accurate. And he hasn’t had access longer than anyone else. He went to the preview and played the alpha. I promise you Luke I grew up watching your Arkham vids and made a RU-vid account just to subscribe. I love this series, but when I say I enjoyed what we saw in the alpha story is good I mean it . Even if Destin sounded like he was flip flopping it’s not what he meant and reading it that way is weird. Story content can be high quality and good while also being questioned for overall decisions. I believe the saw flash “dyinh” but it’s off screen and boomer acts weird after doing it. What we saw in the alpha was high quality, the end result isn’t exactly good but it’s being told with care in rocksteady fashion. It’s still GOOD story telling, but telling a story not many would want to see. The banter comment is similar. It’s very funny and great writing, but after awhile can get a bit annoying hearing the similar quotes over and over. Also in regard to leaks. Either your ignoring millers new article purposely or don’t know it exists. The main leaker has come out and clarified the leaks you read are either fake, misleading, or missing context. Two days earlier the first leakers said himself he lied and rushed through the plot in order to make people mad. Miller also went on to say the league doesn’t die and is even the focus of the later seasons mentioning flash and green lantern specifically. While he didn’t give context as to how or why they survive, whether that be clones, fake outs, resurrection, etc we don’t know but they do survive the game. I’m not saying pre order or even buy the game, but I will say it’s not as bad as we think. He didn’t mention Batman but said specifically the league survives, so most likely includes Bruce. He’s been very open about everything in the game, from dlc to modes. He’s a freelance data miner, and has no reason to shill for wb. He also mentions some specifics like lanterns barrier staying up after he’s “killed” implying the one who is killed is a fake while the real John is somehow alive somewhere or deadshot doesn’t pull the trigger. We’ll see if it’s true but given it was due to his ego being questioned so he “outleaked” the other dude to proves he’s legit or just wants the truth, he has no reason to lie about what he found. Bringing back the league is actually a genius idea to lure players back in each season. Scummy but smart from a live service stand point to bait the deaths of the league to keep engagement numbers up. This isn’t the game we wanted and frankly I don’t think it’s what rocksteady wanted either, even if they’ve said otherwise, but I think there’s some rocksteady polish that not even wb can ruin. There’s some soul in the studio left for a little bit. Also the ivy thing I still don’t see what you see. Looking for some weird interpretation of a relationship when people who played the rest of that section all say it was just two friends with no implied relationship. I took it as two really good best friends who cause chaos together, and even the biggest wokest idiot wouldn’t imply an attraction from Harley to new ivy. You may say otherwise but personally I don’t see it and didn’t take it that way even with the burning letters comment. Overall like I said I get being disappointed after knight. This wasn’t the game I’d imagine then making after it. There’s also some retconning of Knight in the alpha, mainly how Bruce comes back after faking his death to join the league because the hope Clark provided the world with. On paper not bad, but it’s something I would’ve preferred in a new Batman game or Superman game. Harley being heroic is weird given her matter of family involvement with the theme park owner and killing countless innocents and some kids, but that’s an overall dc issue. Deadshot isn’t terrible, definitely a huge retcon for the character, but overall a better representation of Lawton than Arkham. There’s good and there’s bad, but I don’t think this will be a dumpster fire 3/10 game, more so a average live service shooter with a meh story and fun gameplay.
Tbh at the moment the game really doesn't look bad at all, I do have questions and concerns about specific aspects but I have to see it myself to get a full picture. Sucks I don't have a definitive opinion like most people seem to have, especially like I did with Gotham Knights because when WB Montréal showed that game before release I knew that was going to be bad and it was. I think what makes me feel more possative towards it is that I don't have an undying loyalty towards the Arkham series so any deviation is welcome (also it reminds me of Sunset Overdrive). My current main concern is the looter RPG mechanics (do they actually utilize it well) and my secondary concern is how side missions are handled since the Arkham games had good side missions. Also to add, live service will be really bad if they have timed based stuff, fomo, and if the story of the main game doesn't end so they use the live service to conclude it.

I think what the guy was mostly saying was that he enjoyed the moment-to-moment interactions between the 4 members of the Suicide Squad, but not the overall story about 'killing the Suicide Squad'. That's what I got from the review, at least.
