Oh man it's been 15 years since I first played Suikoden 2 .. I was just 7 years old. I was so excited when the Mist Monster transformed into another form which resemble a woman and throw out lightning attacks .. good days.

in my opinion suikoden 2 was better than ff 7 much better srory depth characters and shitloads of rpg elements masterfuly put together still in user metacrit and in other sites hold top 1 jrpg position
I'm so happy that I'm not the only who enjoyed this masterpiece of a game. Listening to the game's OSTs here on youtube always brings a tear to my eye.
You forgot the easter egg when the detective Richmond looks up Prime's past he was said to have murdered the evil Queen of Falena, which technically inspired the Suikoden V game to happen. Suikoden is money and Konami is stupid not milking this series, there's so much lore.
Agreed, the first one was good, the second one was better. After that the games went downhill exponentially with every release.... They over-milked it and ruined the Suikoden name....
Too many RPG's came out around the same time so S2 didn't get it's due. plus developers need good enough sales to turn a profit, i don't believe IV or V did. Though the industry is in the billions, doesn't mean that the developers see much return. distribution cost, platform royalties, etc. Why in-game sales, DLC and so on are so popular today. Its sad but true, i don't think we will see another Suikoden game unless game dev fans ban together get the rights and create it. but i'm sure the rights to the water margin are up so it wouldn't be suikoden per se, but it would have it's original inspiration.
welcome to the club, theres a facebook page called suikoden revival movement that has tried to get it to PC for ages, I myself and several others have allso sent Konami emails, begging them to please remaster them and get them to Steam, spread the word and spam them same emails, maybe they will listen eventually
Also one of my favorite games of all-time. Suikoden I and II go together so well; it tells an amazing story. I never knew about fighting 108 battles in the beginning to change the beginning intro to a full color sequence. I first got Suikoden II, for Christmas of 1999. Luca Blight will always be one of my favorite Antagonists of all-time!
This is my favorite JRPG. I got it the year it came out for Christmas, mostly based on the recommendation from a friend to my dad, never having played the first one. I did go out and get the first one, but honestly this game... I just adore it. I enjoyed the first one, and the third one, as well as the fifth one (the th was okay.. But I had an issue where it would freeze halfway through the game, and even replacing my disc didn't solve the issue, so I dunno), but the second one was, in my opinion, their masterpiece for the Suikoden series.
I agree Suikoden 2 improved on a lot from the first game, but Suikoden 1 will always be the most nostalgic for me. I spent the most time with it and it will forever be my favorite RPG of all time, no matter the improvements that came later in the sequel. :)
One of my favorite moments of Suikoden II is that if you have enough people recruited one character will be in your room during the assassination attempt and does nothing to help you 😂😂😂
Am I the only one who thinks that Suikoden 2 should have another plot-line for Jowy Atreides for joining the highland army. I mean it would be awesome to become the antagonist in this game like create a different ending etc. Although that won't probably happen anymore. :/
suikoden 2 will always be my fave, i havent played 5 though but i considering of playing it since its the last installment to the series and i kust found out that georg prime became the one of the main character they shed light to his colorful story. ahm will you also do a review of legend of mana for ps1? i also love that game and it's ost together with the stories you discover doing the quests.

Ironically i didn't know about the black and white scene at the beginning before this video.😄 Started a new game twice. Both times i fought over 100 times before the scene.
I still remember I had recruited enough people into the castle that Nanami (or some other female character) would always hang out in the Hero’s room and that assassin shows up and I still had to fight her alone lol I think a high def remake of this would be ace honestly

This game is opposite of nowadays games, lacks good graphics but makes up for it with story, gameplay,soundtracks you can do lots of things in the game, so many characters to play, this is what modern day games lacks, they are only focusing on graphics now , games have no soul,story or gameplay, thats why i quit on playing offline games long ago.
I just came here looking to see if pushing the door ruined the game, it does not! I got a copy of this game from GameStop back in the early 2000s for $11 when they got rid of all their PS1 games. Had a scratch down the disk, or in retrospect it simply could have been my 1st gen PS1... But I traded it off to a collector for Chrono Trigger, I had no idea it sold for more than $200.

i heard that you can save Nanami's life after she got killed by Gordo. but you have to full recruit every star character in the game. And also, the reaction time for you to decide which dialogue to choose from when nanami got arrowed was less than 1 second in order for this to work too. have you guys tried it?
Yeah, as long as you get every star before a certain point, the rest is pretty easy. The problem is remembering to get them all at the right time. I've played the game about 6 times and I still sometimes miss some stars.
+Hell Fire RPGs does it matter for certain stars to be recruited at certain part of the game? As far as i know, to recruit all stars before going to Matilda and fight Gordo. That's when Nanami got arrowed
yes u can save nanami but you have to complete suikoden 1 first recruit 108 stars and save the game so that u can recruit tir mcdohl at the banner town..you should also recruit 108 stars in suikoden 2 before entering last battle with joey at the x mark spot mountain..when you battle with joey just do not fight..you will see its the best ending of the game.tears may fall.haha
I love the hole saga!!! Only mistake I did was playing 2 before 1 coz I saw that box cover it was infamouse for and was like "Ahh hell no!" but still I recomend this one

legend of dragoon and xeno xeno got too much story you need to know before start the game it supposed that in the ship of the intro movie thier carried deus a kind of god and transport him they wanted to control him deus crashed on a unknown planet etc etc
It's a shame the developers weren't given enough time to perfect the games (1 & 2)...there are definitely parts that seemed rushed. Spelling mistakes, dialogue given to wrong characters in part 1, the Great Forest upstairs not finished, Moravia being empty (no villages), you mentioned the battle system too, etc. Suikoden 2 had some similar issues too, esp with spelling. What was Konami thinking? What is Konami still thinking? -.-
Needing experience creating RPGs to create this one? I don't understand. Isn't attempting something exactly how you gain experience in the first place?
I have an old mobile with an emulator with suicoden crono trigger and hand full of final fantasy's. I'm a happy man! I don't have to buy aa from the corner shop to play.

Hell Fire RPGs I will definitely let u know what i think. I heard part 2 is the crown jewel of the series but i'm gonna play part 1 and go through it the right way :) then revisit this vid afterward! I love the channel by the way
