Why Sully Erna Says This Is The Final Godsmack Album! 

After 20+ years of touring and pumping out albums, these guys earned their stripes. They deserve a chance to slow down and enjoy life.

Godsmack will never go away, just because they have chosen to put out a final album doesn’t mean they’re done. The great thing about music is that every song can have a different meaning or impact you in a different way each time you listen to it. Godsmack has found a way for a single song to reach massive amounts of people who are all going through different struggles, triumphs, and other life changing events. Take a bow gentlemen, you have achieved more in your life times than most others can, and you have touched more people in this world than others can. This isn’t “good bye”, this is more like “I’ll see ya later”.

Nothing wrong with doing “Greatest Hits Tour” and ride until the end, at this stage of the game. This band has already earned its prestigious status.

Sully is such a good person. I'll truly miss new music from him, but I will always appreciate what he did.

Sully and Shanon, your drumming has inspired our now 29 year old son to become a fucking monster on the drums as well. We took him to one of your shows when he was 10, you changed his life.now he plays for two bands. Can't wait to see you live again with him in Pittsburgh! Love you guys! Godsmack has been a kickass band from the beginning. I absolutely love their music.

I got into GS in 1998. I finish work at 5:30pm. I went to a computer shop, to buy a game. Has I walk in they we’re playing moonbaby. And I thought WOW this song is amazing. So the next day after work, I went to a record shop, which was across the road from the computer shop. I bought there first album 1 week later. And I’ve been a fan ever since 😊 Thank you GS for many years of great music and beautiful memories 🙏

Sully Erna you are one of the best musicians of all time. Whatever you want to do in your life now after music do your thing man, do what makes you happy, it was nice knowing you and I enjoy listening to your music you're one hell of a talent.

I've never been this excited for an album to release. Legends Rise was way beyond my expectations.

When I first heard about this I thought it was a cop out. I've now watched two interviews with Sully about it and I completely respect what they're doing. They've given their fans 25+ years and they want to enjoy their lives. Good for them.

Always a go to band, never disappointed.

Love Sully but really haven't liked a godsmack album prob since early 2000s.

For one The old bands will kick your ass you guys don’t have what it takes to be legendary like Aerosmith like AC/DC

These guys have MORE than earned the right to go out the way THEY want to. They have ALWAYS tipped the cap to those who came before (see Sully's comments on touring with Metallica) and they have ALWAYS tried to give some to those to come (see "Unforgettable" video). Bravo gentlemen and kudos for always doing it YOUR way. 💯👍🏻🤘🏻

Good band, but glad they are somewhat hanging it up... They haven't really been great since Faceless.

If you don't plan on playing like the stones at their age, then why make a band or befome a musician? I, at 36yrs of age still want to skateboard to prove to myself I still can. Took a few years off just because of life addictions that took over. Still hungry to prove to myself what I loved to do.

My all time favorite band ever is Godsmack!!!! Ilthey have got me through some troubbling times and through searching for my true self. I will never forget Sully's, or Godsmack's in general, impact on my life. He is the sole reason my dream has always neen to be a vocalist for a band... sadly i never could find or figure out information on where/how to start but thanks to Sully i will never stop singing while doing every day things like walking to work and the occasuonal karaoke lol

personally stopped listening after “The Oracle” still love all their older music, but aftwr “1000 HP” i kind of fell off… this is nice to hear though

There also comes a time when the creative juices, drive and things to say with lyrics start to run out. I'd rather a band recognize things like this and not just keep pumping out half assed, sub par written songs when there prime was 15-20 years ago

Sometimes the creative juices just dry up, it's not easy all the time. They will be back when they are ready Faith no more took 19 freaking years between albums and came back better than ever still hoping for another album from them.

I love Godsmack but I also think that the market of rock music is gone. I'm now 52 almost 53 sad to say but it's all about money.

Wow, he's very different now. I use to listen to these guys religiously back in the early 2000s. I got away from them, but saw this video pop up. Sully use to be a wicked asshole, but he seems to have mellowed out quite a bit. Glad to see it and maybe I'll give them a listen again for old times sake.

I loved Godsmack since they first hit the road running, but their last couple of albums sound like the first couple that they came out with. Songs and music in the background sounds like the same one's they have used over and over again. I'm still a fan of there's but not as big as I was for the first 8 years. Don't get me wrong Sully is an awesome dude and so down to earth when talking to him. In 8 years I seen them roughly 100 times.

I'm a much bigger fan of Sully the musician than I am of Sully the talker. 🤫

I gotta admit. Ive seen pearl jam 15 times. And i could care less if i ever see them play black or yellow ledbetter or even flow ever again. This type of thing is not for the fans.

I've thought this guy was the coolest shit since I was in like the 6th grade. He's held it down. I'm 34 now and I'm more of a fan now than I feel like I've ever been, because we're getting to see it come full circle.

I was excited about their new album, but now I'm saddened hearing this 🥺 but I do understand where they're coming from. It's also sad to hear. I think back to when my sister had an album of theirs on her birthday cake, how is it that they're already calling it quits is where my mind goes, but that was so long ago, that the fact they kept going all these years, is quite amazing and a blessing 🙏

Last album is so plain and sterile. I wish they hadn’t even released it. This whole pitch is just an excuse of a worn out old man. Not a single will top any chart.

Dude I remember the first godsmack song I ever heard. It was The Enemy from WWE Summerslam 2006 and I thought to myself "this song is so fucking cool and then years later I saw them live and until I saw green day that was the best night of my life. So learned a couple songs after I saw them and I fell in love with 1000hp and have been a godsmack fan ever since. So yea when they come around I'm gonna rock out with one of my all time favorite bands Godsmack.

They gave us damn near a quarter century of great music. Their self titled and The Oracle albims are my two favorites. But the growth it took to get from point A to point B in this specific example is exemplary.

Yes we all love hearing the hits by the legends but sometimes the latest album and time zone may be the best or it is just as great and keeps is all going. I'm sad. But, Sully is an amazing singer, the band is brilliant and badass. I've listened to them since the beginning and hope this thing kick arse. First album was magic in my eyes and ears. This new album sounds really amazing.

Finally someone who gets it. Far to often bands keep making music that never seems to capture the same feeling or quality and everyone just wants to here their older stuff they love. Some bands are fortunate enough to just keep hitting homeruns like Red Hot Chili Peppers but Metallica fan's just want to hear anything before Garage Inc.

Godsmack has always been a good solid hard rock band. I've never seen them in the headlines for any negative reason, and from what I can tell they keep their private life private, and keep the fans properly informed about their musical ventures. Though I've never really followed them at all, I do like what I've heard from them, and I respect them very much as musicians. They've had a damn good run. Keep em moshin guys 🤘🤘

This is a very special moment in the life of my son and our life. I just bought tickets for a concert. You have been on my concert bucket list, and now my son and I finally get to see you.

1st band to see in my life when I was 12, no joking, and It was a concert I'll never forget. Sad to see them stop producing music but hey you cant always have it your way. I think this band has earned what they have today, more than a bunch of fans, a great reputation. now the need a chance to get a life, get back to doing what they want to. Thanks guys for being there most of my life and it was a more than great run. Hope you have a greatest hits tour or something of the sort. Most of all go do what YOU want to do.
