I think we can all agree that our thoughts are certainly with the #blm movement right now - please know that I’m doing what I can to share any pieces of information, donations, petitions etc. over on my Instagram right now (@useless_dk saved under the highlight “be the change”). Your pregnant feet will thank you for ordering those birkenstocks- it was the only shoe I found comfortable during both my pregnancies!

I come from a small town in the Kootneys...BC , Canada. My town, Nelson, is known for people wearing Birkenstocks because it is a culture that is and has always been very 'hippie' and in touch with nature and living a very natural lifestyle. I've been wearing Birkenstocks since long before they were so popular and common. When I first started wearing them in the late 80's everyone thought they were really weird and 'ugly'. In Nelson where there is tons of snow we still wear them even in the winter but just with big wool socks. Apart from the odd summer dress, I wear only my Birkenstocks all summer . I have a few different styles. Though I am now transitioning to minimal/ barefoot footwear for the health of my feet and even more natural movement and footwear.

I have those exact Birkenstock’s and love them, and they are lifesavers during pregnancy. So easy to slip on when you can’t reach your feet. They suit your style so well also

I have taken on board all your tips and I don't hae a lot of items but they all work together. Dungerees are my favourite although I am sixty now and don't feel like I can pull them off now. I do however wear bib and brace skirts/dresses alot xx

I wore my Birkenstocks all summer in my pregnancy and still use them now 7 years later. They are the best shoes! Your pregnant and postpartum feet and body will love them! Lovely watching your baby bump grow! Can’t wait to see how things change for you when you become a mum!

Congratulations to you and your husband. I love how you have incorporated your style into your pregnancy wardrobe. You may end up with a new uniform toward the end of the second trimester, it all depends on the baby's growth, your body's expansion to make room and how HOT you feel as summer progresses. I’m in week 19 and have had a lot of fun planning my summer wardrobe, with a mix of maternity and non maternity clothes. I’m just working from home but it’s been a way to have some fun and maintain a sense of normal. ☺️ I actually think I’ll be able to wear most things next summer as well, and the maternity friendly stuff is also very nice to wear post partum of course.

Congratulations! I am half way trough my pregnancy too, can not wait to follow your pregnant jorney along mine. Actually birkenstock's were always very unconfortable for me, because I have very narrow and long feet. It felt hard to keep them on my foot while having the proper lenght. But it might change troughout of my pregnancy. I am also planning to replace my shoelaces to some sort of elastic solutions on my sneakers :)

Love your new pre-loved dress and yes IKKS is a french brand we have many stores here in France (by the way you do love french brands a lot don't you ? Isabel Marrant, Maje). Love Birkenstock too and have a pair of Arizona's that have been with me for a while. My last buy was a pre-loved pair of Swedish Hasbeens low/flat heel in black and I can't wait to wear them. Otherwise need nothing more for the summer, have changed my outfits to "all sustanaible-linen" in the last 2 years so everything's perfect. You look amazing and I'm like you: I do love my dungarees too ;-) Love to you.

I was pregnant last summer and I must admit at the end of the pregnancy I lost my style. It was more comfort over style 😂😂😂 it'll be interesting to see how your style changes/or not whilst your lovely bump grows ♥️

Enjoy and savour the moments of being pregnant. It's not like every time we want to get pregnant that we will. Was pregnant 12 years ago and been wanting to get pregnant again. I missed the feeling...enjoy and take care!

Signe, I have a question. What do you think of the concept of "getting your colors done?" Basically a professional analyzes a person's skin, eye, and hair color and comes up with certain colors that the individual should wear and colors that the individual should avoid. People often refer to "getting their colors done" and they are told what season they are. For example, a person who is a 'summer' looks best in cool muted tones (hazy or dusty cool colors). Black is a cool color, but it may be too "intense" for that person. That person is told their 'colors' are medium grays, navy, chocolate brown, mauve, lavender, dusty blues and greens. I don't really understand this and wonder if perhaps you learned anything about this in that style course you attended. Thank you. 😊

Save the espadrilles for later as they could make people trip over their feet easily. Not a good shoe option for pregnancy.

I think some of your clothes are good for pregnancy, but the dresses will not fit for long as well as many of your shirts. If you do wear them they will get stretched out and wont be wearable post partum
