I ran out and bought the LaRoche Posay cleanser and Ponds Moisturizer! Dr. Idriss is spot on....the Ponds totally brings me back to memories of my Nana, who was doing a double cleanse way back when! My Nana used Ponds cold cream to remove her make-up, then used a cleanser to wash her face! My make-up kit is similar to my skin care...a mix of price points, but all great! I cannot wait to try your serum, Dr. Idriss!
I trust you whole heartedly. I’ve never been disappointed with any of your recommendations! And they are always budget friendly! I can’t wait for your skin care line! 💕
Jessica….did you claim your prize? I also received this reply, just wished to know if you feel it is legit? I know there are some bogus offers to many of subscribers on this channel, as subscribers have identified as such. Thank you
Since the early 80’s, my favorite eye makeup remover has been Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I tissue that off and follow with the Garnier micellar water for waterproof makeup, which works great! Love your videos! You’re so engaging and I’ve learned so much from you! ❤️
What is your skin type? I've been through so many cleansers and moisturizers 😢🙈 I have combo sensitive acne prone skin. Trying to find the right combo of things that my skin likes lol 😅😅😅
Thanks! I'm obsessed with my #touchbeauty body device REVIVE. Love its RF technology so much. Pretty easy to use with the no-button design. I can see my legs are much firmer than before. It is my essential device during the workout. :)
so excited for your skincare line, Dr Idriss! the serum looks amazing! would you consider formulating a sensitive skin version of it without niacinamide and kojic acid for us sensitive sally's😃🤞
yes, exactly! even the most basic brand like Cetaphil recently reformulated to include niacinamide in all their products! such a bummer! hope this niacinamide takeover will end soon as it's getting harder and harder to find gentle and simple products. Niacinamide is quite literally in every product I come across these days
I have faithfully watched your videos every Saturday since finding you a year ago! I love how you break down ingrediants, routines, layering, and what works with each type of skin. Your insight on specific ingredients has helped me figure out an effective routine that finally makes me feel confident about my skin!! Thank you so much for all the videos and insight! I'm very excited about your skincare line and anticipate its release date (wheven that may be)!!! Thank you Dr. Idriss!! 😊
Thank you so much for producing these videos! I’m so excited to have discovered your channel! I’ve been dealing with melasma and rosacea for over a decade and it was so moving to hear about your experiences. Thank you for not only sharing your knowledge, but also how these conditions have affected you. 💖. Do you have an opinion about Heliocare Advanced (oral vitamin B3)?
Hi Dr. Idriss, quick question. I noticed that the Pond's moisturizing cream has isopropyl palminate in it. I was under the impression that this ingredient is very comedogenic. I have extremely blackhead prone skin and have been avoiding said ingredient, among others, like the plague. Have I been misinformed? Could you maybe please do a video short on ingredients to actually avoid for skin prone to open comedones? Thank you!
well technically petroleum jelly aka vaseline is not comedogenic but plenty get acne or milia when using it due to their genetic disposition. i am one of those people. so I say it depends on the person.
Hello , I have found this particular Ponds moisturizer with the light blue lid to be fantastic. The label says won't clog pores and it doesn't. If anyone is prone to getting acne and/ or has large pores , this has been the best non irritating facial moisturizer.
I found a product that can take my make up off, spf, oil and all dirt that acumulate on skin during the day, and it's still gentle to my skin. It is greek cosmetic company, Apivita Black Detox Cleansing Jelly, I can easily found it in pharmacy store here in croatia. Thx for profesional advices over the skin care for free 😁🥰
I got a free sample of Aurelia London miracle cleanser would love to know what you think of it, it seems to take off light makeup and cleanse at the same time however with heavier makeup I still need to double cleanse
what about cleansing the neck? are we meant to? I always include my neck but I wonder if I shouldn't be. I am a huge fan Dr Shereene, thank you for all you do, I love everything about you. love from Australia
We should bring almost every skincare product down to our necks, even cleanser. People say washing the neck on camera is awkward, but I don't see why. I *always* cleanse my neck, then put all my serums and moisturizer on top 💖
She makes me love Saturdays even moreee 🎥.. have you ever tried « Purity Made Simple » by Philosophy ??? II love it ( surprisingly ) with my dear sensitive skin rosacea prone.
Try the First aid beauty cleanser, I think it’s strong enough but still sensitive! And I always apply it on dry skin and then wet it after I’ve worked it in! Also do you think it’s possible for someone who broke out terribly from Differin could use Tretinoin without too much issue?
I bought Bioderma micellar bc of you and when it arrived I looked at it … wait , why did I buy this ?😂. I never use micellar water bc I never out make up 😅.
Im always confused about Eyelid skin care! Do you put sun screen on them? Do you use an eye cream retinol? Do you leave them alone? Tips would be appreciated!
Awasome tips!! I'd like to ask Dr shereene 🙏... What are your thoughts on what some profesionales say, oftalmologist ,that tretinoin causes dey eye sindrome,i saw video where it was totally not recomended to put not even near the eye, what are your thoughts PLEASE....oviously you recomend it's ok,still can you detail little bit more why it's said, and you use though...🌻✨🌻✨🌻
Hey Dr. Shereene , I was wondering if using products like tretanoin and hydroquinone for acne and hyperpigmentation could lead to a rebound and worse acne and hyperpigmentation after stopping the use of them? Thank you
okay wait ... so IN THE SUMMER can I use kojic acid, tranexamic acid, azelaic acid, exfo acids (brrrr), (medical) retinol, exfo enzymes, and other stuff without the acid/exfo part (hydroquinone, alpha arbutin, anti pigmentation stuff, anything)? i tried to do my own research but basically they say you can never be sure and patients should be informed about that... or is there a middle way or a golden rule? because i’ve just cut out everything to be sure it wont worsen my hyperpigmentation 😢 my cosmetician even recommended leaving vit C out which is not the best option as we know ❤ i kept salicylic acid only but i really miss my life tbh🤔☹️
I use Dr.Lancer Cleanser for sensitive skin, but it can’t be used on your eyes. I also have Blepharitis, so my eyes are already sensitive. If I use the Bioderma Micellar Water to remove eye makeup, will just rinsing that off my eyes with water be ok? So I can use the cleanser on the rest of my face? I know you’re not supposed to leave micellar water on your skin. Thanks! 😊
I don’t know why I don’t see more derms and esthis using Purity Cleanser from Philosophy. It’s the OG and best facial cleanser for make up removal and overall skin cleanse. 🫠
@@hollygrail2964 Oops! There' s a typing fault in your comment. Don' t you worry. We all know how it really ended: "she also wants to be funny and likable, and she' s neither *, IMO.* " You' re welcome.
This video was exactly what I needed. And OMG I can’t wait to get my hands on that serum and get that glow! I am So excited and extremely happy for you 🍾🎉☘️ oh! And if that’s the packaging for it I think I’m going to love! That bit that we saw looks amazing 😍
Bioderma sebium cleanser is freaking amazing for oily sweaty skin. I have combo skin and it did not dry out my drier areas, really makes my whole face feel balanced. On top of that it can get spf and most makeup off by itself :D (I really dislike oil cleansing bc I found it dehydrates my skin and disturbs the barrier. I use it on eye makeup or now and then if I feel very cakey but not every day) I also really recommend the Trader Joe’s gel moisturizer for extremely hot and humid days. It’s supposed to be a dupe of the Clinique Moisture Surge. I have both at the moment and I can say they are very close, I do think Clinique is just a little more hydrating, but in humid summer that’s not really an issue :) I have pretty sensitive skin and these are my summer holies.
Okay I’m super excited about this secret serum. Some of my absolute favorite ingredients for sure. Dr. Shereene can you tell us when we can expect your brand to drop roughly?
I love your content! Bioderma micellar water is the best, I really didn´t find any better. And the Bioderma Sensibio cleanser is amazing too. Specially for sensitive skin.
I’ve tried both- use the same cleansing method & I have found Garnier to be wayy better! Sure, sometimes it may take a little bit extra solution (or it seems..ironically it always lasts longer) to take off certain mascaras, but honestly with both of them… the way micellar water works is you need to wait 30 seconds.. say for eyes very very gently hold wet pads over lashes for 30ish seconds.. then “rub” (don’t actually lol) off the product that came off. With garnier there seems to be more breakup, which is why it seems like there’s more being used. Both take same amount of time I have found Garnier to work just as well, be more budget friendly, and also don’t forget it is cruelty free as well. I can’t justify bioderma, not better for the skin with most people.. no benefits over Garniet, just a higher price point. The only thing that I find to be a “problem” with a bunch of different micellar water is that most of these brands have gotten the dispensing method all wrong, if not careful you can spill it. Probably by design..but still not a true problem. Don’t waste your money on old French water ❤
I 💯 agree, Garnier never ever aggravates my skin, Bioderma was nowhere near as good for me. I use all the Garnier ones - green cap, pink cap and orange cap! ❤
Try Skin better Cleansing Gel! It’s unreal for a first cleanse! Gets it all off! 2nd cleanse with Skin better Oxygen wash (let that one sit for 30s) then cleanse
Looking forward to dehydrated combination acne prone skin that is sensitive so can't tolerate harsh ingredients in the same kind of hot ,humid country please? Alternatives to vit c , retinoids or benzoyl & salicylic too drying 😓
I don't have oily skin. I live in the Pacific Northwest (Eastern Washington state) and the climate here is quite dry. I am looking forward to your products!
I followed your advice and cleanse my face only with water in the morning and it works wonders for my skin. I double cleanse and I alternate with "Dermaceutic Foamer 5" wich includes 5% glycolic acid and leaving it 2 minutes before rinsing leaves your skin soft and clean.
Your channel provides so much value! After watching your video on HA, I started to wonder if that was the culprit why my skin just always felt so dry and tight. I experimented and eliminated one HA product, and I could see and feel a difference within a few days. I stopped using anything with HA almost completely, and really, my skin is starting to feel so much better again - thank you for sharing your knowledge, Dr. Shereene!!
I’m so happy I started watching you! I started using neutrogena makeup remover balm and my eyes got so dry and irritated! I started using micellar water and no irritation around my eyes!! Plus it’s not oily and just feels like water!! Thanks again!!
When you said moisturiser, I expected any one of the more hyped prominent ones. The minute you showed Ponds, I was completely blown away. It had always been a fav of my Granma. And she had super duper beautiful skin. She always had a Ponds tub on her vanity. 👍🏻❤
I loooove my Ponds Dry Skin Cream. Anytime I've tried a different nighttime moisturizer, my skin freaked out. The second I go back to Ponds, my skin goes back to being smooth, supple, even-toned. It simply loves it and you can't beat the price!
My Grandma is 73 with smooth, beautiful skin. She uses this exact Pond's moisturizer and says it's the only thing that's worked well for her. I'm sold, buying some later today
👏🏼 Love this and super excited for your products to be available to us geeks!! Also love Ponds cold cream to remove my makeup. Please Botox tips would be so appreciated 💘
I recommend Mad about skin gentle cleanser! It takes everything off and leaves skin soft 😃 I'm also super oily and I thought it wouldn't do the trick but it does ❤️
I've started washing my face on dry skin as well. I find that I wash for 60 seconds and not worry about buring my eye balls off or washing the cleanser down the drain. I'm excited for your skincare line, that serum looks bomb!
Thanks again for an informative video. I've been using your advice for tretinoin under my eyes and face at .025 for 8 months. I'm graduating to .05 in a few weeks. I've even use a tiny bit on my neck. It's slow but I can really tell the difference. As always consistency is the key.
I use tret on my neck, too! I'm able to use it every night directly on cleansed skin, and recently have started dabbing a bit around my eyes, as well. You're right: slow and steady and you will see results!
That's a HUGE tube of tret!! How many ml is it? At least 30, right? My prescription retinoid is 30 ml but it doesn't look that big. Also, I use it on my neck every night now, and my skin loves it. For the last few weeks I've been dabbing the tiniest amount around my eyes, too. Haven't had any irritation, either!
I have been binge watching all your videos since I discovered you ❤️ I was wondering if the effects of PHA in brightening/hyperpigmentation are the same as glycolic acid? Sadly my skin cannot tolerate AHAs
The question that I am sure it has been asked may times before: Is there an estimate of when your products will be in the market? I’m sure just like me lots of people are really looking forward to it. Thank you for everything that you do and for another great video! ❤
Retinoids is pretty much a must for my acne prone skin, sadly. Sulfur or benzoyl peroxide is not available here as far as I know, leave on salicylic acid products so far aren't for me unless I am dealing with blackheads on my nose. Azelaic acid is not bad and I do keep a couple of tubes, but I see more results with retinol and adapelene. But I still have to take care of my skin barrier, so I do love ceramide and centella asiatica/madecassoside/asiatic acid products. I love Nature Republic Green Derma Mild line because their products all have a bit of ceramide and centella.
That's a shame you don't have access to sulfur and bp! Apart from retinoids, those two make the biggest difference in my skin, particularly because I have inflammatory, cystic acne. A great spot treatment of one of them can calm the inflammation overnight. Also love using hypochlorous acid too! You probably don't have that available I'm guessing.
I had taken some time away and boy am I glad to be back! Thank you for this detailed getting unready for summer skin. You look glowy and gorgeous ESPECIALLY after that serum, which we all are now waiting for you to share with us!!
I like that you had an experience with pigmentation so it can help us understand how delicate the subject and the process of removing it is. I always get asked that question and I don’t know how to guide them with the right products to use. I know I’ve talked about it in other videos but I wish to learn more. Please
Hello beautiful! I get pimples around my mouth (above my upper lip) and it has spread to my chin.. Today I exfoliate with a azelaic acid once a week and always use sunscreen at day(year around) . What could I more do? Soon I will incorporate vitamin c in my routine before the sunscreen (slowly) Then I want to incorporate niancinamide glossier (slowly and once my skin is used with vitamin c so its not a shock) After that I will incorporate pure retinol 0.2 loreal twice a week (less is more). What do you think Shereene? ❤️ (I'm 21, active female and workout alot)
I have lived down here in nature's sauna of hot, sticky, sweaty South Florida since I was in my late 20's and I'm now 66. I have combo skin (oily T-zone) that is changing as I age. Whereas, in my younger years, I may have needed to switch to a deeper cleanser for summertime, as I've aged (and areas like my cheeks can get quite dry), I've found that what works best for me now year-round is to use a hydrating cleanser in the morning (La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Gentle Cleanser) to remove residue of overnight oil production, tretinoin and moisturizer, and to use a bi-phasic eye makeup remover at night followed by a deeper full-face cleanser (I still love Purity Made Simple for an effective one-step nighttime cleanse). To answer the query you posed, I have to wet my hands before I apply the cleanser to my face. The totally dry application creeps me out.
Hi Dr. Idriss - is it possible to spray a bit of micellar water on the scalp for a hair refresh, rather than use a dry shampoo? Thanks so much for your content! PS: Ponds reminds me of my grandma, too. And the original Jergens which I just bought b/c of her... :)
I was curious, so I googled it! From what I gathered, micellar water *is* good for the hair and scalp, but not necessarily the one for your face since it can leave a film. There are however, different hair products formulated with it!
