Giving my thoughts on my Summit TX25 tractor after 24 hours of use. Also discussing my first problem with the hydraulics and first impressions of Summits customer service.
Very informative, the kind of info people like to see. Minor issues noted, we focus on continuous improvement. Pleased to hear your favorable comments about how our team helped resolve the fluid leak without the need to take the tractor in. While we do not expect Summit Tractor owners to fix their own tractors, for those that have the desire, we believe that all they need is a little guidance and access to the parts. This saves everyone time. Please note that we are sending you a replacement mirror on us.
Yes it was very convenient to be able to do it myself. This saved me load up time, gas, travel time, dealership time, and return pickup! Jake with Summit was very helpful and made it a very simple process. Thanks! Very much appreciated!
Really like mine so far, but I am about to have to make my first call on mine and see if its covered or what i can do before i make the 2 hour drive to a dealer. I just hit 15 hours on mine and washed it off and parked it in the garage and noticed few days later noticed I have puddle antifreeze underneath so that is tomorrows job is to figure out where that is coming from.
@@bearsmouth5722 Let's hope this "New Investment " was a Good one! Just get the "leak" fixed an "Rack-Up" a 1000 more hours of trouble-free service on the already 15 hours to make Your "Investment" a Good One.
We just got an Atwoods in Hutchinson that opened a couple of weeks ago and I saw their tractors and thought I would RU-vid it last night to see if anyone was doing anything about them and seen that your buddy had you on his channel and looked your channel up tonight. Thank you for the content and I am glad you are close to me. Not many RU-vidrs in Kansas. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Sorry for the long winded post.
I own a GC1725M and love it but I did look at the Summit when it was announced, it is a next size up for me so maybe when I get a bigger property might be something to look into but I will also definitely look at the next size Masseys as well. The Summit does look to be a heck of a tractor overall, and I feel like as we see them grow we will see more smoothing out of operations and all that. Great job! Very informative!
Great video, I am looking st the Summit tractor. I am interested in purchasing one of these tractors but I have yet found anyone around North Carolina who sells them. I will wait till they come around here. Thanks for the positive review, more good news to come out I am sure they look like they are made very well.
Awesome. I was almost sold on the b2601 Kubota. I am now (after watching all your videos) seriously considering this tx25 summit tractor. Ty for the information.
24 hrs. Wow. Clearly an experienced review! Hey, I bought a tractor. Look at me. Do reviews after you actually put it to work long enought to formulate a real opinion
Heh, keep up the great work on the updates for this tractor. I can't wait to see this tractor with factory Cab with heat and a/ c, supposedly being released later this summer. Take Care.
Ya seems like they have a decent amount of options, attachments, and a bigger hp tractor being released this year. Just got the email this past week about the new BoxPlane they are releasing. Looks pretty sweet!
You mentioned that Summit is expanding their locations, and I had gotten an email a week ago that was the case for the SouthEast. I checked and they're going to be available via Home Depot here, 4 stores in a 30 mile radius, the closest one only 6 miles away! Woo-Hoo!
Looks like a nice tractor! Just wanted to throw this out, a friend bought a new Bad Boy 35hp with a loader for $19,000, probably before taxes. He's impressed!
Enjoy your videos and Good Works Tractors on this tractor as thinking about getting one next year when I retire. I live in NE Kansas so hopefully they get some dealers closer than 3 hours from me. Got a 8N Ford but would really like to have a bucket and grappler to do some things on my 15 acres.
Hey, the same tractor is sold under the brand „solis“. I think you cant buy more tractor for the price. I own a solis with gear Shift. So far i am happy with it. Greetings from Germany
My first thought is that the wheel spacers could be made from 2 inch thick solid round steel. Doing that would also add weight right over the back wheels. It would be easy to counter bore so the lug nuts wouldn't be sticking out so far, and then drill and tap for studs for the new lugs to put the wheel on. Of course I have a problem over-engineering everything. I am looking for a mid-sized tractor or a larger track loader than I have. I will be looking forward to your reviews. While I am rough on my equipment, I do maintain them very well. I'd rather buy a larger unit than I need over finding my unit is too small for my needs.
I bought a koit 2510. 2.5 years ago. It was used. New was 22,000 with a backhoe. No 3rd fuction kit. Last week at the dealer this tracter is 22,000 with out backhoe. Now thats 9,000 more. Have seen the summit tractor. Wish i had it. The only thing i would add right off would be a grappler on the bucket. Not only a safety feature but a must to move brush and other thing.
I live in Georgia. We had a tornado come through some months back and knocked the power out for over two weeks in some places. My neighbor bought one of the 25 HP Summit tractors a short time before the tornado hit. He called me and asked if I had a spare generator that he could borrow as his was having carb issues. I told him that I had a PTO unit that I use on my 1977 Ford 1600, and it was already hooked up on the tractor as we had just used it for 3 days continuous before our power came back on. I was expecting that he would just come drive my little ford 1600 back to his house and use it, but instead he brought his new shiny Summit tractor for the task. I helped him disconnect my old 45-year-old tractor and reconnect his new Summit tractor to the PTO generator. He heads off and gets the lights on in his house and all was good... well good until sometime into the night when he said the lights went out around 1am. I get a call and he sez," can I come get the old 1600 Ford as this POS Summit engine let loose last night and oil is everywhere" I said I would bring it to him and help get it hooked up. Long story short is that my 45-year-old Ford 1600 had ran nonstop with full generator load at wide open throttle for 3 days at my house and 2 days at his house with zero problem. These cheaply made tractors are good for the weekender but may not hold up to heavy usage. We bought the Ford 1600 new and it now had 5100 hours on it. The engine and transmission are original. It is on the 3rd clutch...
Just spotted these on display at our local agricultural/farm supply store. I have an old John Deere 2-cylinder tractor (1944 Model B) that does not have hydraulics and I basically use just with my brush hog. I've been thinking of replacing it with something more versatile and useful especially since my daughter has horses and we could use a tractor with a front loader bucket for manure cleanup and etc. and the Summit TX25 really interests me.
Bought one in May '23. Only have a few hours on it, maybe 3. Popping coming from front wheels. Looks like loose lug bolts and at least one destroyed washer.
They need to have a way to disable self leveling system. There are times when I need to have bucket tilted back to prevent items from falling out of bucket
Like anything, consider the resale either for you or your heirs. Kioti makes a nice tractor but resale is pitiful, just like Mahidra. Something to think about. I checked a Summit out today on a dealer lot...third function on the loader and the rear remotes are a nice touch. Not crazy about mistubishi motors due to past parts issues. Specs aren't too bad but pto hp is only rated at 18. Good luck! Really, with any tractor, it is all about the dealer.
They have changed the joy stick for the bucket so it's not that tall one anymore also they do have a backhoe attachment I've seen one on a Summit tractor here where I live . I'm not a fan of the self leveling bucket either but if you use it for lifting pallets or totes their fine but rolling the bucket back to get a full bucket of gravel or what ever your using it for can be an issue. I guess you just have to decide which would work best for you and purchase the equipment that best suits your needs. Overall looks like a fairly decent little tractor.
TYM 2515 is they way to go if anyone is interested in 25hp Tractor. I bought a JD 5103 500hrs and a New Holland TN70A with loader 1500hrs for the total price of $25,000 both per emissions. About the cost of one new 25hp tractor. Prices on New Tractors are outrageous now!!! I would mind having a TYM 2515...
I have one kinda big issue with mine. The High/Low range selctor had a lot play in it, nearly half in play. It was not letting me go into low, sometimes high. I found that spring roll cotter pin was bent and compressed too much. I could pull it out with my finger tips. This was like that from the time I picked it up. I temp fixed it today by flipping it around but I need to order one. Mine also does the creep thing too. I usally have to tap either reverse or forward to get it to stop.
That’s not a very fun thing to have happen 😂. Bummer to hear that it was like that straight from the store. I’ve gotten use to having to tap one of the pedals to get it to stop. You been pretty impressed by your summit tractor so far?
Really like your videos.. I have a 1025r 2020.. really good little tractor harder on fuel like you said! Its to late for me to trade but how is it for trade in value or re-sale .. have you heard anything? Looks like a good tractor!!
Thanks! Your JD will definitely be valued higher in a resell because they are a well known brand. Don’t have any stats on a resale on this since it’s so new and doubt any one has sold a used one yet… Time will tell on the resale value. Most of that will depend on the company and how well they do. So far very happy with mine.
I have looked at these at my local Atwood’s in Siloam Springs. So you say there is a Summit repair Facility in Rogers AR? I had asked a sales associate in Siloam if there was a close repair center and they didn’t know.. I wonder if they will also have a backhoe attachment available? I suppose they have pallet forks available as well. Thanks for your video. H, I see your in Pittsburgh Kansas. I used to drag race an ole 55 Chevy at the Mokan drag way there back in the late 70’s. Take care. Tom
Hi Tom, the website has a lot of info, says they have backhoe coming out soon. also a factory cab for the TX25 and new 38hp model. I just bought land in Big Cedar in Le Flore county. I looked for land up your way, very beautiful.
Quick question. Does this tractor have float position for the bucket? Thanks. Good information on this tractor. I’m thinking about getting one of these when they become available closer to my area.
I love everything noted about this tractor BUT. There is nobody within 800 miles of me that sells or services them. I wish the company well, and hope they expand. But until that happens, I have to go with machines that are close both for purchase and service. And that is John Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson and New Holland.
Slow down take your time is the best advice I can give you. Been running tractors for about thirty five years now and speed will damage your equipment and get you hurt. My dad always said tractor work is slow work. And it has served me well all of these years.
hi,,, it should work like new with 25 hrs on it... seems like a nice tractor, but i dont like the long joystick for the bucket, seems too high for me, but thats just my opinion :) lets go Brandon
Probably not, unless they offer a mid-PTO option, which looks like they do...but they don't have a mid mount mower deck as of yet from what I can find. Maybe for a wide open area a tractor that size for mowing would be OK, but even my sub-compact tractor with the 60" mid mount mower is a bit large for my yard LOL.
@@tool_time Cool, its just not available in the US at the moment, looks pretty much like most of the other mid mount mowers for tractors sold here in the US. Thank you for sending me to your channel for reference.
@@wildbill23c one thing i have to say, i dont think the midmower work with that tires from the summit, i have lawn tires on my solis and they are much bigger. there is, with my tires, exactly 10cm (~3inch) space between ground and mower at the upper position.
Sometimes the buy something new bug bits and whether or not it is a necessity the urge to own new is hard to repress. Nothing is wrong with my 1997 Kubota B2100 with backhoe , only 825 hours on the clock, it runs great does not burn engine oil at all or leaks from any place or fitting. I maintain it better than factory schedule , it has the best engine service accessibility hood and removable side panels of any compact tractor that I ever seen .When considering a buying a new tractor given the features that are standard on The Summit tractor make it a serious contender for any brand, over 3400 lbs weight , full frame , third function , loader joystick that is not a rod that has more bends than a country road etc. ect. The one thing that I do not like about this tractor so far is the self leveling loader. It may be a feature that is really great for farm use, but not for my needs, hopefully the next generations will include a T25 that has a conventional non leveling , keeping a full bucket is not possible with a self leveling system . The next thing that is missing is a backhoe , that is a must for me. Reading from Summit website a backhoe attachment is in the pipeline for 2024, but will it be ? Then is seeing it in person , Runnings and Tractor Supply are common in my neck of the woods, but , are they going to stock these like the orange , red , blue , green , dealers do? The next thing is market longevity , absent dedicated dealership service for people who are not mechanically inclined or physically able to do more than greasing joints puts the owner at the mercy of any authorized repair center that will undoubtedly put servicing these tractors last in line preferring what they sell ahead of them . Already that is a problem when somebody brings in a tractor of the same brand into a deal that sell it, first question WHRE DID YOU BUY IT ? Was bought at another dealer or state for better pricing and such not a good answer , automatic end of the line, private sale gets treated with less disrespect but still not to par with their patrons ...and they have to wait weeks as well sometimes depending on what failed on their machines. Of course waiting to see what happens causes their prices to go up immediately after their lower introductory offers , but what good is a tractor as nice as these are to the extent that they are if 4 years later the brand is no longer making them? Branson belly up owned by YTM . many of their models already extremely difficult to get part for . BOBCAT is another typical example... they partnered with a Korean maker , 5 years later that ended ..those tractors are like Branson serviceable parts wise. After a long hiatus BOBCAT reentered again by rebranding Kiotis , the news is that it will manufacture its own in house version soon , those are cans of worms that few want to open , least of all me. I would prefer to be wrong about SUMMIT , but I see destined to be like Montanas, Branson , Bad boy , and many others like them, if their retailers do not develop their own service facilities.
Agreed!! Tractor Supply's on the 'I'll do without first list..' They sell some feed bunkers tht I'm going to drive a long way outta my way to purchase and make absolutely sure tht I'm not spending a dime with the mulveiny crowd...I don't give a rats fanny if they're the last store on Earth with TP....I'll do without b4 doing any business with them or any of their demonic socialist associates.... they need prayer in the worst way ever....but so do I. I'm not paying their way and they can stay out of mine. Purchasing one tomorrow... Atwoods
Just look at one at running they had a older model beside the newer model bucket was way better buit on the older model hint you can tell the older model by the bucket control the older model has a straight joy stick compare to the fighter joy stick
Thanks for the video. I'm in the market for a small tractor. John Deere and Kubota are on top so far. Kioti, Bobcat and Bad boy are not on the list because I have three friends that bought them and all three had major problems. Summit was of the list until I saw a servicing dealer in Game a KS. Hopefully it is as reliable as a Kubota.
Actually second problem. First problem is you had a mental lapse buying a summit craptor. Only gets worse from here. You fell in love with the beat-me juiceless crap in the tires.
Sorry man…. Got a Rode mic with a windscreen but the wind here in Kansas has been crazy lately. I’ll have to look into something else maybe. Thanks for the feedback
@@McClureMadeOutdoors I could hear the wind in the background, but it didn't interfere with anything that you said. I could hear you just fine on my cellphone.
Sorry to pick, but "actually" you say "actually" too frequently. It's unconscious I'm certain, but if you practice, you'll be aware of the usage and catch yourself. Great review! Summit might be ok.
@@corvetteflorida I will never kick myself for buying a kubota that does what I ask of it and never fails me. Resale value is good and I have an awesome dealer. I don't have time for cheap junk, time is money.
