I think your description of the nurglings is why so many of us are going to have trouble going back to historical titles on the regular... A bunch of people poking each other with sticks... or... this level of awesome.

I feel like not calling the RoR Horrors "The Chromatic Aberrations" was such a missed opportunity. It was RIGHT there! Everyone who knows anything about video calls them that by accident anyway.

@@user-gk2pp8dq9p So there's a concept in video called Chromatic Aberration where the lens can't focus all the colours in the same spot, leading to different colours being out of alignment. The result produces similar looking colours to the RoR Horrors.

I feel like monsters in general should have an innate missile resistance, partly to balance their large hit boxes but also to represent the fact that an arrow is not going to have the same impact against a thirty foot tall daemon as it will against a human being. Nowhere is this need more obvious than with the Keepers of Secrets (and especially N'kari)

Hell, in all honesty they should probably have innate ward save, and at the very least it should scale with their size. Just about anything isn't going to hurt them that much, unless it hits a weak spot like the eyes or the jugular (which Total War doesn't accommodate for). I think aside from Keepers, Dread Saurians are probably the best example: What, realistically is an arrow, a sword, or even a spear going to do to something the size of a building. It could look like a literal pin-cushion, with hundreds of arrows sticking out of it, and unless one hits it in the eye, it just won't care. Even smaller monsters and monstrous infantry should have some: You really think an arrow is going to hurt an Ogre when it has to travel through 6 inches of fat? Armour too, since full plate is practically immune to arrow fire.

that's why human beings have less hp though? monsters are fine as they are, if 120 archers are shooting at something, I expect them to at least hurt it. otherwise they would be severely broken, we don't need a meta of single entity spam

@@user-gk2pp8dq9p think of it this way, if you get stabbed by a hundred thorns, it's going to hurt, but it's not going to damage you in the same way as it would a mouse even if you scale for your relative endurance. There are just fewer places an arrow can hit on, say, a giant where it will actually be able to do any meaningful damage compared to a human.

@@kapitankapital6580 As I said, that's why they have a large hp pool. Even in game 120 peasant archers are gonna destroy an empire swordsman with a volley but they will barely scratch a dragon. Also large amounts of arrows should do better than infantry for example or cavalry that will merely poke their legs. The arrow could hit a potential vital spot such as an eye, but a spear that is a dedicated anti-large weapon in game will never reach a vital spot. Are monsters supposed to be countered only by other monsters? An innate missile resitance would also mean resistance from artillery which should absolutely be a viable option against monsters. Gameplay wise I think that if monsters are not countered by ranged troops, that would make them oppresive. In campaign single entity doomstacks are disgusting enough, they don't need another buff. tldr: from both a perspective of logic and (especially) gameplay, I think your suggestion would harm rather than improve the balance of the game

@@user-gk2pp8dq9p 120 peasant archers will do far more damage against a dragon than a unit of empire swordsmen though, and don't even get me started comparing infantry of an equivalent tier. I think melee infantry are in about the right place compared to SEMs, with normal infantry struggling but anti-large being able to be a decent threat without exterminating them. It's only ranged units which are overtuned; I want them to be brought down to par with other infantry options. Also, missile resistance does not impact artillery, only infantry-sized ranged attacks, just FYI.

I love seeing Demons of CHaos playable now. :) They had such a hard time before with many Draw backs and Problems. Like Lack of any armored unit. lack of almost any shieled unit. Your units once routed. Just died off instend. Meaning thier was no come back for any lossed smaller engagements. Their lords were so expensive. You where unable to get any value out of your large selection of units to combo. Doing a build like in this video was pretty much impossible before.

Would love to see a build with both the RoR blues and pink horrors. And someone to really take advantage of the barrier replenishment. Have them up front take some skirmish fire maybe even eat a charge, but start dumping their ammo early, then pull them back and use the barrier refresh + ammo recharge later on in the game.

I thought they fixed the ranged targeting to not just aim for the corner of a unit. Is it just me or has it got worse again? The gunpowder units especially.

So with the addition of Chaos Dwarves and the changes made to Bretonnia has anyone considered giving the demons a similar system except it's based on the god and gives negatives if around the opposite god? It may not be necessary especially with the campaign having it's own thing but it is something that could weaken demons of chaos a bit if needed and won't really effect monogod or WoC (unless they need it too?)

would personally be against this, no need to disincentivize the one thing that makes DoC fun, i.e creating mixes of units you can’t get elsewhere. deamonic is already one of the worst unit attributes in the trilogy and units pay A LOT for it. reaaaallly don’t need another thing making them bad

@@GabaGhoul0 I haven't been paying the most attention to competitive ranking but I recall earlier when demons were banned from competitive because of how varied you could make the armies and it was even mentioned by Indy here. If they don't need any changes they don't need any changes but I think this would be a thematic change if they need a nerf, and I also don't think it should be the biggest nerf either just like -4 leadership when within close proximity to opposite god. kinda like an anti harmony?

I think that's some of the fun of Daemons. Being truly undivided. Honestly, I'd do away with the Daemon Prince having god aligned choices. It should just be 5 undivided tracks to choose from.

@@Cheeseit99 I can’t speak for land battle tournaments but at least in dom I don’t recall them ever being banned, maybe im wrong though. in 2.4 they were considered kinda meta but only in the context of what was actually meta. they were used as a counterpick into melee grind factions like norsca, slaanesh, and vampire counts which the top tournament players were very fond of. but it wasn’t their variety that made them desirable. just that they could walk all over SL infantry, something very few factions could do at the time. now you very rarely see demons played at all as the meta has moved on and they have such easily exploitable weaknesses. I can’t stress enough that most demons are considered really bad, there are exceptions of course. If you would want some flavor to play around with in campaign by all means! but plz don’t nerf demonettes even further into the dirt just bc they stand next to a bloodletter as that would be incredibly frustrating to play around

@@GabaGhoul0 So I looked at Turin's total tavern statistics and Chaos Demons (which I assume to mean Daemons of Chaos) didn't even have stats before Sept 6 2022, so I think they must have been banned before then, but yeah current stats they are definitely not doing well with demons currently at the bottom with a whopping 29% win rate.
