she left to focus on school, then came back to debut solo with 24 hrs and fullmoon as a comeback, they were such big hits. that style of music she did then was all really jyp, it was how he made his solo artist sing, very breathe-y and minimalistic i guess. a bit later, she came back with wondergirls but as a band, i really hope u check out i feel u and why so lonely! and they disbanded and she came back with the big ass hit gashina and it was really the type of music she wanted to do and loves to do! not to mention how jyp wishes he had gashina under his company catalogue lmao

Sunmi came back to wonder girls in 2015 with the 80's retro hit "i feel you" and closed out with group's final hit in 2016 with "why so lonely". In 2017 they disbanded with a final track called "draw me." I recommend all three songs but I REALLY love the Dingo's tipsy version of Why So Lonely. I think Sunmi is a little more than tipsy in the video....🎉

When the Full Moon video came out, she was forced to change/tone down certain parts of the choreo (Im sure you can guess which ones) for music shows...so yeh, you rarely see anyone covering the original choreo, just depends on the show, company, etc.

Yeaaaaaaaah "Heroine" is one of my favorite Sunmi title song but it is sooooooooooooooooo short! Dreamcatcher JiU and Dami did a smexy cover of "Full Moon" during their first online concert in 2020 but I think it is kind of difficult to find it (even in the VOD they removed the cover). I also love "Siren" for the meanings in both lyrics and MV. And you did not mention "24 hours" (be careful of how 🤯🤯🤯 this one is) and "Noir" (such a great song!). I haven’t seen the LOONA cover but I think they did the broadcast version of the original Full Moon choreo? Back in the day, they had to censor the OG dance for broadcasting purposes bc it was too sexual lol. For some reason, her songs with JYP as a soloist were very sensual. You can check out 24 Hours (I believe it’s the debut as a solo artist) too! After she left, her music became super different. I like “both” Sunmis tho. :)

I think Noir and Black Pearl are two very cool songs from her. Black Pearl doesn't have an MV but there's an official lyrics video... With no subs. Still it's an incredible song and one where she really dug deep and showed a pretty raw side of herself. On that note there's also Borderline which talks about what she talked about in Running Girls. I remember Sunmi saying that she wants to be a mom (I don't remember if it was during an interview or on LieV or something), she's going to be an incredible one.

Sunmi's original was very sexy. Loona's cover paid good homage to it but it was toned down a bit. Maybe the Loona member preferred it or it may have been a stylistic choice. It could also be that trends have changed in kpop mvs and most girls don't do things quite that provocatively anymore.
