your comment makes me incredibly happy, i appreciate it a lot! i was worried no one would remember this game, i've spent a LOT of time creating content for this game. i always loved super brawl 2 as a kid so getting to recreate it from the ground up as my own installment in the series is like a dream

that makes me happy to hear!! c: i'm planning on releasing the beta before the end of the year, the main thing i'm trying to finish (other than the standard tournament mode) is the movesets for the first 8 characters (of which i have about 4 completed). every fighter has had their moveset greatly expanded from the original games they were in to the best of my ability, and i really want these characters to show that off. all the other characters are playable in some form, but it would take waaay to long to finish them for the beta haha. as four tournaments, i really just need to add bosses and the bottle breaking minigame. also!! i can't believe i hadn't thought of blue from blue's clues yet! i've pretty much finalized the main roster, though right now i'm making plans for updates with new fighters/content once all the main stuff is finished. currently considering butting a blue fighter in the same update that i would add characters like DJ Lance or Moose and Zee from noggin.... etc etc. we'll see i suppose.

you're in luck-- i had actually programmed the original camera in before adding the new version much later. the option already exists in debug mode, so it's just a matter of making it more accessible. will be sure to add it! i really appreciate your nice comment! finn and jake is definitely a pair i'd like to add. the show's art style isn't too hard to emulate, so hopefully i can draw original sprites rather than relying on video game sprites.

@@mattp928 I think Finn & Jake should be separated characters because Tag Team mode is a thing, and Fanboy & Chum Chum are two different characters, plus you could brawl Jake with Finn. Also wanted to ask, can you add the ability to choose to play Arcade or Tag Team in Local Multiplayer? It would make a nice touch. I also noticed the computer player having different difficulty levels.

@@nursejoy4397 your comment about finn and jake makes sense, i'll see what i can do. right now, local multiplayer is just arcade mode, and so will online multiplayer. i'm not sure i'm up for the arduous task of programming a multiplayer tag team, but again i'll see what i can do. i've haven't finished writing the code for tag team yet, so it could always change? and yes, the AI have different difficulty levels.

thank you for your suggestions! would you mind elaborating on the second one? i don't think i fully understand what you mean. as for the third suggestion, unfortunately i cannot fully match the art style. i don't have any artists working with me for this game, so i am only able to make original sprites for characters that have art styles that are easy to replicate. i've been able to replicate the style of danny phantom/my teenage life as a robot for stages-- but found that i can't make fighter animations because i am not a proficient animator. so a lot of fighters use pixel art because they're from games that provide enough art for me to make fighters of, if that makes sense? its a change i would definitely like to make. hopefully if i ever come into extra money i'll commission some updated fighter sprites?

@@mattp928 For clarification on the second one, the problem I see is that when you hit your opponent, they barely go anywhere horizontally. I think they should fly a bit more out when being punched and be shoved back slightly more when kicked like in the original Super Brawl 2. Blocking should also push you back, but not as much as non blocking. Super Brawl 1 had no knockback when blocking like this game, which allowed some fast characters like Dr. Blowhole to infinitely attack you when blocking. Also I get what you're saying for the third one. Maybe if this project gets bigger someone can find a way to make updated sprites.

@@NintendoLover2005 oh, i see what you're saying. there's some knockback, but i'll mess around with the settings to see if i can make it more pronounced. thank you for explaining it to me!

thank you! i decided not to use zim's super brawl world sprites because i consider the zim from super brawl showdown to be a different fighter, and i wanted him to have different art to reflect that. at some point in the future i may replace all of the pixel art sprites with original art once my situation allows me to. i also chose not to use those sprites because at some point i may add that zim in an update/dlc and refer to him as 'classic zim'. when i first started making this game i wanted to include every fighter from every previous installment, but some roadblocks prevented me from obtaining all of the assets i needed, and i realized this was unrealiztic. i still want to be able to add fighters from previous installments, so i've left the door open for that to be possible (programming-wise anyways)

i personally really liked it so i redrew it to see what a high quality version would look like. i have been thinking about altering it for a while though. pretty much everything about the ui design is subject to change, in older builds it all used to look a lot different

Oh, Don't forget the stages with music for me. Rudy's School & Chalkzone World with Chalkzone Theme Instrumental & Happy Smelly Ending by Guy Moon (Both from Chalkzone) The Jungle with Stampede from The Wild Thornberrys Movie (The Wild Thornberrys) & Blue's House with Blue's Clues Theme Seasons 5-6 version instrumental (Blue's Clues).

i've actually already started working on sprites for a rudy tabootie & snap character. i'm not sure if they will make it into the final game's main roster, so we'll see. if not, i'll try to add rudy and snap in an update later on, because they're definitely a character pair i have a lot of ideas for. i'm not sure if i have enough art to make a thornberry character, though i can definitely work on adding a stage. blue's clues is also a great idea! i hadn't thought about it before, and it wouldn't be too hard to make. much to consider!

It's not available right now, but you can subscribe to Grrlware.itch.io and you'll hear when I upload it to there. I'm pretty close to releasing it as a Beta, I just want to fix some of the bugs first. Arcade, Tournament, Local Multiplayer, and Watch Modes are all working. The Vault doesn't work yet, but everything can be unlocked using Debug Mode. Online Multiplayer is almost done, but you probably won't see it in the first few updates. Wubbzy, Dark Danny, and Zim are the only new characters that are playable and fleshed out. Some of the new characters are playable but have no moves. The first four characters + Bessie and fully completed. Pretty much every character after that up to Monkey (+Korra) is playable but is incomplete in some way. Right now, some of the other main things I want to add are bosses to tournaments, story-based tournament modes, a lot of stages, and Artifacts-- which are items hidden on every stage that can be used to summon assist characters when brought into battle. The main roster is more or less confirmed, but I might change one or two. I plan on adding more characters in free, themed updates once the main game content is completed. Mostly focused on Nick characters but I'd like to expand to CN or Disney shows if I get the chance. You can request any character you want and I'll look into it, but the main thing holding me back in terms of characters is art. I am able to make my own art for some characters, like Wubbzy or characters from Chalkzone, but for more stylized shows like Avatar are much harder to do and I have to rely on existing sprites from Nick games and whatnot. I'm the only one working on this game so I don't have someone elst to focus on art for me, y'know? I really appreciate you asking, it makes me happy to know people are interested in this game!

at the time when i made the stage, i wasn't able to find the original music in good quality. i have the music now, but i'm thinking of playing the original music only hwhen there's a boss battle on that stage. in the character select screen, each character will have some text that explains how to unlock them. most of them involve the vault.

i think you'll be happy to know that not only is vlad plasmius one of the new characters i've already added, but some of the character you've mentioned i have already started working on as free dlc/updates to the game once all of the main fighters are finished!

no, it appeared in super fall brawl and was later removed. it was lost media for a while but i had some help tracking the old files down. this video shows an older version i patched together from RU-vid video screenshots

@@cool5608 po ALMOST got in, since i had originally planned on adding all of the fighters from super brawl 3. however, i have been unable to retrieve sprites from super brawl 3, so characters like Po, Amon, Korra, Adult Aang, Sanjay and Craig and so on had to be cut. If I ever am able to retrieve those sprites, you can expect those fighters to join the roster in a future update. The only other ones I might add are the ninja turtles. They have some sprites from previous Super Brawl games, so I could definitely take a shot at it. I'm not super familiar with them, so I can't say they will 100% be in. If they do get added, I imagine I would pick two of the ninja turtles to be fighters, and the other two would be assist characters/artifacts. Maybe Garfield.

@@mattp928 i will be glad if all 4 turtles are here. Then we can find out who is stronger penguins or turtles. Well, or look at their teamwork

that's an interesting idea! thinking of adding DJ Lance as a character and then allowing you to switch between the characters kind of like pokemon trainer in smash bros? they probably won't appear in the main roster, but after i finish all of the characters in the main rosters ill start adding additional fighters in updates. hope that works!

@@mrpoopoofarts4206 preschool characters provide an interesting diversity within the roster. it's fun to see dora or wubbzy wail on someone, and it makes sense considering they are technically nicktoons and are popular.

@Supercat5 interesting suggestion! i'll consider them for my list of future dlc fighters.

why do you want to use it? you pretty much just open it and choose from a list of commands by pressing a number
