That bloated Buick stomped some torquey ass over the rest of the crowd. Probably had the A/C running and cruise control on. Love those 455 twisters! I had a '71GS, and will never forget the low end grunt in that monster.
Thanks much for posting partner. looked like it was a great day of racing for the typical classic muscle's - and some not so much collected - Pontiac Bonneville and Catalina land yachts. I had a '63 Bonne and loved it so they'were my favs and if I could I would have a '65 Catalina 421 / 4spd weekender with a '65 Bonne 389 / auto as my cruiser. They were heavy sisters with the Catalina slightly devoid of luxo trim to make it lighter, the Bonneville,, it was wonderfully trimmed out with chrome everywhere. Front and back seats were luxurious.
14.15 for a full size, mid sixtes Pontiac (Bonneville or Catalina maybe?) is pretty quick. 8 lug wheels and maybe a 421 under the hood...sweet! Thanks for posting!
455's get all the credit, but those 421's were screamers. I had (worst mistake was selling it in the late 1990's) a 1973 trans am with the 455 SD super duty in it, but you talk to the old timers about super duty and they are talking the original 421 super duties of the early 1960's.
Yea, the shaky camera is annoying but, I'm in the stands with a zoom lens so, nothing I could do about it unless I spend a grand on a good super stability lens. Hopefully one day I'll get a new lens/camera.
I was holding the camera in a mono pod, a big part of the problem was that I was using windows movie maker and it suks, I upgraded to Veags Pro and it removes all the shakiness very very good so, hopefully in the future the new vids will be very stable and I could resave all these video through Vegas pro and it will clean up the shakiness very good, I did a test on a oil spraying under carriage video I have that is horribly shaky and jus t about unwatchable and Vegas pro fixed it perfect so, I have to upload that video again and I used Vegas pro on my newest lexus video an d it came out great. Like ya said, windows movie maker was to yesterday.....and it was free and now I know why! lol
I wonder if we're talking about the same thing. The kind of monopod I was referring to telescopes so as to rest firmly on the ground (or floor, or ??), and has a tilting head. Used correctly you will not get that shakiness, but can still pan and tilt all you want. It's always better to have clean original footage than trying to "clean it up" in post.
Ah, yes, the length has 3 levels that slide in and out and yes, it is much smoother when swiveling using the ground as a sturdy base but, it gets tiring after a few hours or other spectators are in the way to my left side and it makes it tough to use that way sometimes but, I understand the disappointment of the shakiness, also drives me bats sometimes. I'm going to a event at either LValley or NEngland soon so, hopefully it'll be smoother.
And your Einstein know it all, there up in the stands , probably drunk, if you were not so serious you'd hear they're funny because they're not trying to be know it all. You re jealous because you don't have a video or a friend to go to the drags in your ? Are you hating because they're mistaken sometimes. Lighten up
Korie........... I think the dude filming is hilarious......I bet money he is drunk. It is almost like being there because there are always drunks up in the stands talking about the good ole days. Shit, if I ever go again I will be one of them......lmao!
