Great Video Mel! Fantastic job on camouflaging the hardware. I try to hide everything the best I can as well on my pond. I use the same polyfil on my pond and tanks as well. Banging video braddah!
Thank you so much but also check out these videos they will help you out on a clear pond!🤙🏽💯🤙🏽 much love aloha to u! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-po81A8buCh4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVsUdYQ8GQY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgVc1nz27JI.html
Thanks man. I bought a property with a big koi pond that had been neglected by the previous owner and right now it's a giant breeding ground for mosquitos. Unfortunately the fish are dead and I was trying to figure out the filtration system so I could hopefully bring the pond back to life and your video helped out a bunch.
What did you use as pump for your water fall filter? Because I'm planning on making in indoor stock tub pond in the basement where I keep my fish tanks.
Hopefully the recall of Newsome continuous despite his trying to save his sorry butt by opening up the state again once it became obvious the recall was gaining a lot of sigs.
Oh I have a couple videos for you with that!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVsUdYQ8GQY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgVc1nz27JI.html
So you need to tell me if the spillway pump has a intake tube running from the pond. I assume it's buried and the pump can pull that water uphill without issues. Right?
That would be cool I look at CAC’s as like the dream team! I love your guys stuff, enjoy the videos, I’ve learned so much from u guys, I tried to make it to the last pondemonium just u know Ballin on a Budget lol but i feel so honored that you would reach out and even consider me to become a CAC... this comment just made my day, I nerd out on all of Greg, Ed, Brian and Chris’s videos.. team Aquascapes! The best of best! Much love and aloha 🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽
I like your creativity but I’m doubting this would work for me. Later this spring I’m redigging a 2000 gallon pond. I have 2 inch lines and with a 2000 GPH pump I think it would overwhelm that box. New sub here though. I like your content!
Oh dayum Braddah Joshua u doing it big... yeah this definitely not the way to go with that size pump man that pond is gonna be sick my man thanks for the love and support 🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽
Loved the video, very informative. I'm new to this pond diy. I just finished digging, and mine is 10x8 and 3 ft in depth. Would I need an additional filter, besides the one you illustrated in the video?
@@Misha4real Yes, about 6 x this size filter, even more if you plan to have fish. I create biofalls filters using loft water tanks, 3 -4 layers of foam and then highest quality bio-media on top placed in a mesh bag - as much as you can
Thanks SO much for this very informative video! I am 71 and have lived at this 100 plus year old Victorian home for 30 years now. It came with an in ground cement pond 450 gallons but I am still trying to figure out how to set it up as far as fish , pump , filtration etc. since the pond is under a pomegranate tree and a bush I am trying to figure out how to keep debris out.plus put enough oxygen in for fish. I am low income so this is great news. I will definitely try this. Thanks again!
Mahalo! I'm nearly finished with my pond and I actually have already purchased a spillway just like yours. I'm happy to have stumbled on to your video about your diy filtering system. I missed where you said you bought you bag of "media" I think is what you called it . I appreciate your advice. Be blessed and thank you!
Oh yeah here’s a video for you on my media it’s good you’ll find this super useful when it comes to ponds ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ButmWKIV6Zw.html
Ohhh here check out these two videos I explain it more in detail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ButmWKIV6Zw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVsUdYQ8GQY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgVc1nz27JI.html
Thank you for the detailed show-and-tell filter video. I'm all about the budget. Your pond and scape looks so beautiful and serene. Stay safe my friend.
Ah thanks Sabrina appreciate it and I’m glad my video helped you out... here is a video for you, it’s all my secrets, enjoy 🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-po81A8buCh4.html
Thanks for the video. I’m all about ballin on a budget! A small outdoor pond is my next project and you have saved me considerable $$ with your vid. Much love from the land down under 🤙🏽
Wow, how cool was that?!! Super awesome. I gotta look up the pond video. Such a serene place to sit and relax with the beauty of nature. Thanks for the tips. 😁
I put together one of these but I didn’t get one of the sponges so I used lava rock in the bottom. I will get one of those sponges next time I go out. But just adding the falls to my pond has made a tremendous difference in the water clarity. That little extra filtration is really doing it’s job. I want to add a bog filter to my pond as well. But at the rate I’m going it’s gonna take me 10 years to finish my pond lol.
Thank you for explaining all this. I kept seeing commercials on what these look like but I never understood how to set it up. This gives me a better idea. Thank you!!
On the waterfall unit... What is the purpose of the plastic nipple on the top of the water inlet? I noticed you did not use that or it might look like it's blocked off. Thanks
I wanted to say THANKS Braddah Mel! This inspired me to build a 125 gallon indoor garage pond for my 2 Oscars useing this same spill way and this same method. I spent very little money on this pond. I haven't got it running just yet as I'm waiting for the pump and some other things but I'm sure my Oscars are gonna love it.. I just recently got these 2 baby Oscars (1 Colombian Oscar, 1 tiger Oscar) I'm having some aggression from the Colombian to the tiger Oscar and am hoping that once I put these 3” Oscars into the large pond, just maybe there aggression with smooth its self out with the amount of space, you may have some more experience on this then me and is my 1st time keeping Oscars. So I value your input/ knowledge. Thanks and ALOHA 🤙
Yea more space equals less aggression but then again each fish personality is different some are Cool other are straight Crazy!! Just gotta keep your eye on them!🤙🏽💯🤙🏽
I wouldn’t use it, because most of that pillow filling has a fire retardant chemical in it, you gotta make sure that the batting is free from that chemical 🤙🏽
This is exactly what I needed for my little 50 gallon pond I'm putting in. Thank you for sharing! This will make my life with my first pond ever so much easier.
Funny I just found this exact water fall on amazon today fo rmy 50gal pond. and planned on doing exactly what he did. So nice to see someone is doing what I planned on and it is succeeding.
Sorry for so many questions but the sbg that is at the top of the spillway, can it be replaced with the lava rock I found in another one of your videos or does it work differently than the lava rocks you use??
I bought the same spillway but I’m having a problem with hose size. What size did you get? Mine looks the same but can’t get it to fit into a pump. What pump are you using?
Saw your video about all in one filer. I looked on ebay and Amazon but couldn't find anything close to what you were showing in your video. Where do I find one like you had in your video. Thanks Dan
Hi, How do you hide the tubing coming out of the waterpump? is the tubing under or over the liner? your advice is appreciated. I am building a waterfall pondless stream and I am unsure how to hide the tubing.
Ahhh yes totally easy Angie!! The tubbing is on the outside I disguise it with rocks just be creative run it behind under however that’s it! Thank you so much for the love and support🤙🏽🐠❤️🐠🤙🏽
Oh braddah I did some videos on that here they are enjoy OHANA!!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ButmWKIV6Zw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgVc1nz27JI.html
Having a hard time deciding on buying one of these or to diy a bucket filter for my small pond. I’m worried if I use this it will over flow out the sides and waste water over time although my pond only has a group of ranchu gold fish any tips or suggestions?
Yeah but definitely not by itself I’d also use an all in one filter with it like this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgVc1nz27JI.html 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Video seems to be for people who already do some type of filtering. For a brand new person to the hobby, its missing the pump, which pump types, what flow rate, how does the inlet look like?
I have an entire series on that in the playlist here’s some more specific videos you gotta check out the channel 🤙🏽💯♥️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVsUdYQ8GQY.html
Hi there. I have a 750 gallon pond with a 950 gph pump. Originally I had a skimmer and 100 gallon skippy bio filter with plants in it. It cracked so I replaced with a 20 gallon tank and removed skimmer ( all per some Northern's advice). I live in Austin, TX. Anyway, the 20 gallon homemade skippy filter has media in it that I purchased from this same northern company. They look like scrubby sponges. The pond has not been clear since. I also tried their beneficial bacteria. No go. I realize I have reduced the filtering tank /system significantly and eliminated the skimmer. I have been thinking of reducing the size of the pond to help matters but the cost to have it done is insane. I can try using your filtering ideas first and see if that helps. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
As of right now with the stock I have the two filters are fine, I currently have 6 small/med koi and 1 Oranda Goldfish one of the filters is equipped for a 1000g pond my pond is currently around 800g
For the Poly Fill, where do you find the sheets of it? I've searched Ebay and Walmart...and I only find up the bunched up poly fill for stuffing pillows/stuffed animals....
Hey I just discovered your channel. You have a great personality and the videos are awesome for beginners. I was wondering if you have any videos already made on how you made the actual waterfall feature. I am looking to build one myself and I am wondering what is the best way to lay out the liner the rocks the landscape and the connection into the actual pond. Like did you carve a trench of dirt from the spillway to the pond and then add a liner? I like the way yours looks so it would be great if I could replicate it. Thanks!
Aloha Braddah!! Oh yes I do have an entire playlist for you to sit back and binge watch🤙🏽😂 here you go enjoy and much love and aloha welcome to the OHANA!!🤙🏽🐠🤙🏽 ru-vid.com/group/PLpHw9_vsV8hvpnhbA8qChhfygPCvNPSYa
