How would I make this with thinner yarn?

It would take quite a bit of adjusting. You would have to cast on more stitches and knit more rows to match the length and width of the pattern. To keep the cable large and in the right spot, I'd make sure to knit about an inch and a half before working the cable and then the cable would likely have to involve more stitches to keep it big and chunky.

I truley do not understand how to knit the wrong side wrong it is causing me alot of grief so much so I have knitted one glove all knitting right side, I have watched this tutorial over and over atleast a dozen times it looks regular feont side I just do not understand can you please explain and show with the needles what knitting on the wrong side looks like sorry it looks the exact same to me I can't see the difference

It’s just the opposite side of your work (flip the needles to work on the other side) You might be doing it and didn’t realize it. You kinda have to so you can finish the project 😊

@@whitneyjones2745 hello my issue was my cast on, was "half a row" so when i would do row 1 it would be on wrong side instead of right side so every row was off, now I long-tail cast on and have no issue, I've been making those old style slipper socks from the 1940s just needed to work out or be told that a thumb cast on would make me start on the wrong side not the front side, i was utterly confused untill i worked it out comparing to tutorials
