Looking good. I actually use Irwin Counter Sinks when drilling anything over 1/2”. I got tired of bending/ breaking larger expensive drill bits. The set of counter sinks I have are expensive, but they have lasted for over 10 years.

Outstanding kit. Very strong. Thanks for this video. I grew up in Wyoming. Where are you located? Get kiddo a helmet so he can watch. He is obviously interested. Teach him early.

Thank you!! And of course hopefully it helps you! I’m in Laramie, and he’s got a helmet, he’s been welding for a few years now. He didn’t want too this time. He’s excited to play with the paint gun on the frame here in a few days though 🤣

@@Kubicon Way to go with your son. I spent 5 years in Laramie from 1977-1982, working full-time at Frontier Cycles, going to college full-time, and riding observed trials in Wyoming and Colorado. Some of the best times of my life. I wonder if the Rand brothers are still working at Frontier Cycles?

Thanks!! And no i didn’t. I’ve done quite a few axles over the years in both mig and tig. Had a lot of cracking issues with tig mostly on cool down. however no issues with mig. I tried to stay off of the pumpkin as much as possible though. Preheating will certainly help but make sure you have cool down blankets to try and cool it down evenly or it will crack. Hope this helps!
