Just the video I needed 😊 I freak out if my pot goes slightly over 50 lol, guess I should chill out. I've never adjusted the pop-off valve, doing that would give me more peace of mind 🥰
Thank you so much for this helpful video, I’m trying to understand what and how a pressure pot for resin works! I have a question, how is the air compressor set up? And what is that little lid pop used for?
Here is a video on the air compressor. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wqIWYf3dhs4.htmlsi=cMExMBR4LUio4JVg the pop off valve is a safety measure to ensure you don’t over pressure the tank.
I'm curious how long you put your resin in to degas it? No doubt, it will depend on how much you put in at one time, but say a pint or a quart quantity?
Lots of people use the 2.5 gallon and are quite happy.. I cast bigger things, so I use 5 gallon pots… on a good quality pot I go to 65 psi.. but just make sure it’s below the max rating for your pot.
Hey Jake. Great show last week. My new pot is coming tomorrow and I can't wait. I'll be a beginner at this so I just got the 2½ gallon pot. Just one question and I think I asked you before, but I forgot. I'll just be putting 1 or 2 small molds in at a time. Did you say keep them in about 4 hours? Thanks and I'll see you Saturday.
@@JakeThompson I ordered Total Boat High Performance. I thought measuring 2 to 1 would be easier for a beginner. Would it still be 4 hours? Thanks for getting back to me.
I recently purchased this same pressure pot and I noticed when I connected my compressor the pressure gauge on the pressure pot does not move. I'm new to this and haven't been able to find any answers to this issue can you help? I would really appreciate it. I even called the company and they didn't know
I would go to the simple stuff… can you hear air going into the tank.. does your air compressor have air in it.. ( I’ve had someone not know they had to have the compressor on and the out valve open.. Is the regulator letting air in?
@@JakeThompson hey Jake thanks for the reply. I am able to hear air going in the pot as well as my compressor pushing the air in. It's just that the gauge never moves at all so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Perhaps a video explaining these steps would not only be helpful for me but for others as well. Especially anyone getting into using this tool in the future. I've looked everywhere for an answer and can't find anything explaining this which is odd.
