_"Peta is THE organization to listen to you. They love animals so much, they would kill one to prove how serious they are."_ That roast though, didn't expect him to bring that incident up
@Violets Are Blue did you hear Scott talk about how the people saying how dumb peta is for what their statement on tanookie mario fell right into their bait? You did too congratulations
I'm going to play devil's advocate and say that Nintendo probably killed more animals if you count all of the animals that their employees collectively indirectly killed by eating meat and doing other non-vegan activities.
@@itsallcaleb Scatt is a nickname he used to be called that he uses as his username in some games. Look for anytime he plays smash and you'll see a player called Scatt. There was also an instance where the word scatt came up in a video and he said "look thats me." Smh my head what a fake fan
I like how PETA’s immediate response was “Mario killed that tanookie!” as if they never heard of costumes before. I wonder how they would react to a furry convention.
That made me laugh so much because, 1 - Mario doesn't even interact with an actual tanuki to get the suit, he just touches a magic item and A - it's clearly not a real tanuki skin as tanukis are shaped significantly different, so Mario is obviously wearing a very elaborate costume or pajama set.
15:00 Holdup... The boomerang flower is a "worse version of the fire flower" It's got it's perks. The boomerang isn't affected by gravity like the fireballs so it's easier to hit flying enemies. I also like how the boomerang still has an active hitbox when it is returning to you. Not used much but i can't say that I agree that it's worse
whattt lol idk how yall could say that its a boomerang that can depending on your direction hit multiple enemies and get coins and shit you're too lazy or unable to get too. Idk im biased tho its one of my favorites I love using it anytime I get to haha
Boomerang also collects coins/star coins upon touch, so it makes it very satisfying to use it when you have a lot of coins spread around you. Boomerang is *much* better than fire flower IMO, as the fireballs' only advantage is their range, which is not very useful when most enemies can only hurt you up close, or if the stage isn't a small flat area with walls.
"Obviously this is a way to get attention. If you're somebody going online to discuss how absolutely ridiculous it is that Peta thinks Nintendo is promoting animal abuse, congratulations! You did exactly what Peta wanted you to do." Congrats, Scott.
Exactly. They've also done it several times before. Like they of course did that with Pokemon and Super Meat Boy. Funny thing is, they even released a shitty clone called Super Tofu Boy, I kid you not. But yeah. It's all for attention. I believe almsot nobody in that organisation looks at 3D land and thinks: Yep, that's animal abuse. It's basically a Troll, and pretty damn good one at that. Everytime they do this, they get countless gamers absolutely pissed, that will share it, talk about it, make entire fucking Videos dedicated to that Nonsense. So actually cheers to PETA for that actions. Great Trolls, 10/10.
@@sagichdirdochnicht4653 hang on i may be mistaken but didn’t the meat boy devs actually have a hand in making them even do the super tofu boy thing as a means to get peta to promote their game, them adding tofu boy as a means to shit on him in the game as a flat downgrade character
@@XenobladeNerd Well no, the game Devs had nothing to do with super Tofu boy. Peta being Peta just shitted on super Meat Boy, cause you controll a pile of meat and released Tofu boy. However yeah, the og devs of course noticed that and to make fun of the Peta campaign, they implemented Tofu boy. Wich was a pretty hilarious move .
“It’s truly an awful situation when you re-experience something you initially loved but upon closer inspection it’s not as good as you remember it being” Existentialism at its finest
It do be like that. I think it's because of his constant uploads where you think, "oh I can skip this," only to click on it and it's another gem... Or Mario Kart, I can't tell at this point.
Scott needs to do a vid on 3d dot game hero's. He uses the song "breakout" from it in his outro and I loved this game dearly. 2009 was one heck of a year.
I always mix up "Super Scott The Woz 3D" and "Super Scott the 3D Woz" One is our regular, everyday Scott, and the other is Scott in a Paper Mario-like world where he is the only three-dimensional member of his family, and having an extra dimension within that universe brings him not only shame, but a pain unyielding. To this day you can still hear his cry of agony: "ah, frick, I stubbed my Z-axis"
This game is a warm can of soup on a cold day. It isnt special, it isn't amazing, but when your in the mood for a relaxing gaming session it's always there for ya.
@@Freakazoid12345 Simcity, diablo 3, one of those f2p games from steam that close servers after a year, a dead mmorpg, the satellaview games from snes, and many more
That really sounds like something he could do, if his channel wasn’t almost solely dedicated to games. I’d actually want to see a History of Agriculture Scott the Woz video though
@@AlphaStormMusic I don’t mind what he talks about, but it would definitely be cool to listen to historically important stuff described by Woz the Scott
This game brings me so much memories. Even though my abusive dad only let me play for 30 minutes a day, it provided me so much entertainment and it borrowed my attention from the fact we lived in a small apartment, my mom was always working and the beatings my dad gave me every other day. This game helped me through a lot
@SHANON ROBB the youtube comment section is like a free therapist office but the therapists are on crack discord is like the crackhead therapist got some therapy himself
I remember preordering this game i think i might have been in 5th or 6th grade. But it def got me thru those hard days. I still got the keychain it came with
I thought he was looking at the 3DS given how it cuts to a first person view of the 3DS afterwards. Slowed it down and I see what you mean, but still think it was intentional 🤷🏻
@@CAVFIFTEEN As a video editor, he just have had to use individual frames to cut to the next shot. So he probably accidentally didn't do a couple frames, if it was intentional he would have done at least a couple seconds, not a couple of frames.
Eh, to be fair Rumble Blast/Super Rumble was honestly the least interesting in the Rumble series? The original and World (yeah, the F2P one) were pretty great, though. EDIT: Wait forgot about the WiiU and Mobile ones, those were pretty bad too. I'd say Super is the worst of the ones which could actually be considered good, then.
When he says "Hey ya'll!" he looks happy but as soon as he says "Scott here" he looks like he regrets everything he has said, and is going to say in this video
I've replayed this game countless times and it is my favourite 3DS game by far. I think what I love most about it is how, despite its sameyness, it really feels like a love letter to classic 2D Mario games. It lets you experience the worlds, enemies, and music from past games in a brand new 3D perspective. It's a wonderful representation of the original mushroom kingdom that I will always love.
The cover art of 3d land is so representative of the game. Blank background, 3d Mario, the tanooki suit, what more do you want? I loved playing it, just very decently made game :J
@@nostalgiaontheairmichaelch9932 The other 3D games are all amazing and the worlds they create are super fun to explore. They create new ideas and areas that are unique to those games specifically. 3D Land isn't trying to do that and draws almost all of it's level art from the old games. It feels to me like that's exactly what they were going for when making the game. I guess I'm a simple man who doesn't want the simple things to be disregarded.
I never played this but it sounds like Mario comfort food gaming, and now I'm intrigued. Good job, Scott. You got me interested in playing a game by flaunting its mediocrity!
"None of the stages are memorable..." I actually do remember the Zelda inspired stage in 3D Land. It was in the top down perspective and looked really good in 3D! But that's all there was to the level... just the camera angle and the "puzzle solved" jingle playing when you light 4 torches in a room... that's it. Pretty solid level, nonetheless.
This reminds me of the original New Super Mario Bros where I hardly remember any of the levels except the one where you're running inside pipes altering water levels with a bunch of one-way gates. I don't know why but I always find that level fun.
What I love about Scott is that you can obviously tell he's from the Midwest poorly based on the fact that he said "Yup" like, 10 times in this singular video
6:24 Just then, a PETA ad appeared to me talking about animal abuse. It was probably chosen to appear, but if not, I don't believe such a coincidence could have happened, it's CRAZY
I still remember getting to the end of the special worlds. Completing that final stage gave me the greatest sense of accomplishment. Returning now and hearing the Mario Drawing Song brings back a ton of great memories. I love 3D Land. It was my first 3DS game and one I still revisit occasionally. I'll be okay if it doesn't get a remake because even though it's not the most stand out 3D Mario game, it'll always have a place in my heart.
Me, who lives in Central Europe: What’s your problem, you don’t have to watch the video as soon as it comes out, it won‘t run away, so just enjoy it when you have the capacity to do so.
Definitely the most underrated 3D Mario ever. I once played the game on my friend’s Nintendo 3DS a few years ago and I really enjoyed it, good level design and excellent controls.
Nothing surprises me about PETA, tbh. They’re an awful organization, and this isn’t even their only parody video game (not even including their in game protests in Animal Crossing)
They sometimes decide to be upset with video games every now and then and *love* to pick on nintendo. I think the earliest thing i remember them doing is a cruel and brutal cooking mama parody, it's just fucked up.
They also made a few Pokemon ones from what I remember, for the "animal cruelty" in the games, a lot of blood and such. Like really?? Are they just trying to make kids sick with all this gore or what?
@@bluscythe910 They target Nintendo probably because of its reputation of family friendliness. Saying "this cute friendly company you love is TORTURING ANIMALS" is a lot more dramatic and scandalous than saying the same about a company that publishes violent, gory video games, especially when they can make a violent and disturbing parody of one of those cutesy games. I love their first parody game of SMB, though, because throughout the game you see Mario, depicted as a nice guy just trying to save the relevant damsel in distress (one of their celebrity supporters, I forget who), keep getting unfairly beat up by either angry animals or angry mobs. He's just so oddly, sympathetically tragic for someone they want you to believe is this cruel animal abuser getting his just deserts.
@@renkousami417 The philosophy was probably “let’s use characters from children’s games to get kids interested in this stuff” The result was looking like idiots because it looks like they’re focusing on children’s games more than the actual causes, because they *became* idiots that focus more on children’s games more than the actual causes.
I’m completely blinded by nostalgia when it comes to this game. This is that one game I would take EVERYWHERE with me. I must of sunk over 100 hours into this game. So many great memories especially with the super obscure levels
It just so cool that this man puts in the work to where he not only delivers on making last week's show to this week but still gets his weekly video up on time this week! I will always remember him for just this trait of quality.
Scott is the gift that keeps on giving. Uploading a halloween special about memory cards on Friday and then coming with another video on Sunday. I did not expect Scott to upload on time considering uploads were so close, but I'm happy.
I'm giving Nintendo some credit for this game as this greatly uses the 3D effector and it works well without wearing 3D glasses. I would also like this more if there are less levels involving shadow mario following you on the special worlds.
I was never a huge Mario fan, so this game was my introduction to Mario games and I loved it. I 100% completed it and loved the aesthetic of the game, the tight controls, the 3d effects and the short levels, as well as being able to play as Luigi. Whenever I play 2d Mario games I find myself disliking the platforming because I feel like I can’t be precise, like it’s too slippery, and the 3d All-Stars collection on the Switch is just good so far but my mind hasn’t been blown. Odyssey was great though, it controls well and has great levels and a ton of varied content. I would say that it is my favorite Mario game with 3d Land as my second favorite. And after that.....uhhh.....well so far, it’s just those two.
