To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Super Mario 64, I am remaking it as a series of 2D levels using Super Mario Maker. The third level in this series recreates Lethal Lava Land, Shifting Sand Land, Hazy Maze Cave, and Bowser in the Fire Sea.

honestly I've never heard of you in my life but I saw this in my recommendations list and after watching it all I have to say is you my good sir have earned yourself a sub :) awesome level design all I thought to myself while watching it was wow this is about as close as people are gonna get in Super Mario Maker to Super Mario 64

We need Super Mario Maker 3D. With games such as Captain Toad Treasure Tracker ( cause why not? ), Super Mario 3D World, 3D Land and of course SM64.

Well it would be MUUUCH more complicated, longer, and more frustrating to make and QA test There are still plethora of glitches bugs and unintended features riddled in mario maker, and it doesnt have TO much of basic mario assets It doesnt have any snow, desert, water/grass, volcano, or sky themes (Im not counting airship as sky) Its missing plenty of enemies It only has 1 "boss" enemy (Unless you count bowser jr) There isnt any way to resize the roof of a level, and make a vertical scrolling level The issues with 3d? WAY TO FUCKIN LONG TO TEST THE PHYSICS, it would take twice as long to properly fix the physics in a 3d mario maker rather then 2d You would need to add textures, much LARGER levels that players would probably not bother to finish. they can make kaizo levels EVEN HARDER, there would need to be some terrain deformation tool or else it would just look like minecraft the ugly levels you see in the 2d mario maker would just be x10 worse

Sm64 Was actually my very first video game. My mom was busy working at IHop trying to support the family and so we went to daycare. One day I find the cartridge in a box full of stuff the desk woman was about to throw away, And I asked her if i could have it. I instantly fell in love with the game even though I did not know what i was doing LOL. My brother has autism, And he has beat the game more then I can count on two hands. I really feel they should remaster this game, I would go and buy a new nintendo just to play it. But, Anyways the commentary was perfect! You were talking like you had never seen the game before.And You used your imagination, I mean you used a mole and a spike shell for a bully, And you still made it to where we knew what it was. Great level my dude. Earned yourself a sub!

Yeah, in order to fit these three levels in one Mario Maker level, I had to make some compromises. Hazy Maze Cave suffered so that Shifting Sand Land could look like a desert.

you probably forgot but if u go into the volcano then die in the volcano mission then enter lethal lava land again, you'll automatically enter the volcano again. You'll only be able to be in the volcano until you pause and exit the mission or collect 1 of the 2 stars in the volcano. You probably wouldn't be able to recreate that in mario maker, though.
