This is a speedrun of one of the most difficult run forms in Super Metroid, aiming to beat the main bosses in reversed order, which forces to go through heated or water filled rooms without any of the suits for constant energy loss or greatly restricted movements. With an optimized route featuring new speed tricks and boss strategies exclusively developed for the unique conditions of this run, a completion time of 26 minutes is reached.

666666 666666 Not so. If you get the X-Ray scope you can X-Ray climb into Tourian. You can also X-Ray climb to get to a save spot during the escape after beating mother brain, save and reset, which then ends the escape counter. At that point you can then go beat the other bosses.

The animals would have been killed anyway because the chozo statue was undefeated so it was waitting to Samus to appear again. The animals tried to escape and when they got to the room... the chozo statue... oh my god, it was horrible.

TAS are actually an amazing art. Just because they're not a live performing art like non-TAS or ballet doesn't make them something to scoff at. Lots of effort goes in to making these incredible sequences that complete incredible tasks. Remind you of another art form? Yeah, programming! Nobody scoffs at that, now, do they?! God job. This is a masterpiece.

Incredible. I was cracking up laughing the whole time because I didn't know how else to react. I know theres some tool assistance but these skills are sick. Not to mention the time and energy it takes to know every room like the back of your hand and every essential power up worth the time getting. Plus the amount of times the health got down to like 10 when your about to spawn in a heat/enemy filled room and somehow survive is unreal.

WOW that was completely crazy... doing lower norfair without any suits... that is just insane... and awesomely good!!! Grats on that... really... wow :) and i know how TAS speedruns works... i did a short 1min once... took about 10mins to record while playing in slow speed... was fun... but nothing close as being as amazing as this one... everything is just so perfect... :)

Seth Kauffman It's a simple beam combo. Charge up wave beam while power bombs are equipped and 4 wave particles come from off-screen toward Samus in the shape of an X. You can see power bombs decreasing every time he does one.

I know this is a TAS, but it still felt so tense after the Ridley fight as you just waited for the door to open, just barely getting enough health pickups to make it to the Energy Tank. Crazy that this is even possible, even if doing it in a reasonable time definitely seems to not be humanly possible.

Richard Dong It would be impossible to do MB first since you need to defeat the other bosses to get to Tourian. Also, killing MB activates the self destruct, so you couldn't defeat the other bosses

There's a heavily glitched true reverse order, where you kill MB first and kill all the way backwards to Bomb Torizo. The self destruct is avoided with the x-ray glitch.

Have Power Bombs selected and charge either Spazer, Wave, Ice, or Plasma beam on their own. It uses up a Power Bomb, pretty cool little trick.

Jeez...I can't even imagine how difficult this must have been, especially that first part. There's a reason you don't go into Lower Norfair or Maridia without the Gravity Suit... Also, I'm guessing Botwoon, Crocomire, Spore Spawn, and both Torizo statues count as sub-bosses and don't count toward the reverse order.

Weird that the game calls it a 26 minute clear when the video is 50 minutes long.

that's because the game only counts time when samus is active on the screen, going through doors does not count and since samus is going so fast between screens there isn't enough time to be counted in game. also you need to take into account that the cutscenes are not skipped, there are at least 7 minutes between the intro, the ending and the credits.

Urban_Shadow_001 Still inaccurate by speedrunning measurements. Very few games use the in-game timer for speedrunning - the classic Sonic trilogy being the most notable of them all. 99.9% of TAS runs still use real time for the end amount. Edit: Thanks for clearing that up though, I was also confused about the description vs video length

This was a tool assisted speedrun, so somebody played this game frame by frame to get all the RNG in the world and the best possible inputs, although.... RBO is still absolutely mad in terms of difficulty. I just started a run with savestates on an emulator, and leaving the room with the screw attack without space jump is driving me nuts. And I already opened the green door from the wrong side -.-

He uses the arm pumping technique every two frame so that he is able to run fast enough to get throug it. Speedrunners cannor armpump that fats so they have to use mocball.

He couldn't save the Etecoons and the Dachoras because they are located in the Torizo statue Room. If Samus were to enter there, the Boss Fight Would Trigger, Even during the escape sequence after Mother Brain. So he would've had to have fought the Torizo Statue to save them.
