I recently picked up a Super Nintendo. It refused to play any game. So I opened it up and pretty much found out what was going on. Most of the time, it's such a simple issue. You could see the solution in this short video

Hi there I have a super Famicom it was working good except for super FX games like Yoshi island, but super fox runed well and also every game of my Chinese everdrive. I give it a cleaning with w40 and alcohol inside and take away the cartridge slot and cleaned it with alcohol and w40 then the fuse burned. I use a 3 ampere fuse of a car just to see if it was the fuse but now she turns on but black screen y tear down the cartridge slot again and now not even the led of the everdrive turns on. Only the led of the console turns on the one of the red light. What should I do?

Thanks for the info. How did you take the shield around the cartridge pins off?

You unscrew both screw on each end and the connector will lift off with a little bit of wiggle

Cartridge to test mario kart if the cart show "Nintendo logo) then black screen means something bad with the audio chips smp and the other an form to test is you could test with the rf cable or make an jumper from the rf video pad to av video pad

When you have this black screen of death, do you hear any sound at all from the game?

@@darrenmccoy I have video and sound now. Mostly :;D I think its a loose contact in my snes. I opened it and cleaned it from dust and other nice stuff. In my Opinion its better now. It could be, that the other problem was my TV that didnt regognise(d) the Snes correctly. I got my Old Grundig Tube TV and it works fine now ;D (sometimes the picture causes problems when i move the snes or change the game. But mostly it works :)
