Hello, friends. HiTop, HiTop Films here with another classic HiTop Films Video Essay. You might think this a joke, you might think that I’m trolling about my love for DC League of Super-Pets, but I, HiTop Films, HiTop, am being 100% serious when I say Super-Pets is Beautiful. DC League of Super-Pets is loving, caring, and entirely sincere in it’s storytelling and love for the world of DC. Krypto the Super Dog, Ace the Bat Hound, I’ve always been huge fans of the furry friends of these beloved Icons. You might be deterred from believing me since I usually do Superman, Batman, Spider-Man Video Essays, but dude, just check this movie out for yourself. Super Pets might be my favorite Superman movie since Superman 2, Super Pets might be the most accurate (classic) depiction of the Justice League? I asked WB to Please, Make a Superman Movie and I guess they did? Insane stuff. I hope you enjoyed this Super-Pets Review, Super-Pets rant.

I lost 3 dogs back to back a week before watching the movie. As a result, several parts brought me to tears and I really ended up loving the movie for what it was. Ofc that could count as emotional bias, but whatever, I loved it, and I'm sure my doggos would have loved it too up there in the rainbow bridge.

It's a shame this is in theatres at the same time WB and DC seem to be imploding on the movie front. I genuinely thought this was the best [theatrical] Superman movie since 1978. Not as good as Lego Batman but the WB animators are once again proving they know what they're doing.

I loved it too! There’s just nothing like a bond with a dog. The movie was really fun, sincere, and heartwarming. The tone was great, allowing viewing for everyone and not just kids , like Pixar. The turtle being voiced by Natasha Lyonne and cursing up a storm had my theater howling. I, too, got immediately emotional in the beginning. That display of devotion and loyalty that a dog has, followed by the line “he’ll need a friend” just rocked me. Perfection.

This is how you know someone LOVES what they do. The Rock doesn't do a THING to hide or change his voice up. It can be pretty distracting as you just see him in a recording booth not the character he is. But he's having such a fun time that like with Moana, you get sucked into it. You love that he loves what he does.

Hey HiTopFilms, just wanted to say just like how the movie had a bigger effect on you than you were expecting, this video had the same impact on me. Life is kinda hectic for me right now with what feels like people pushing me to live my life in different ways to the point life feels complicated. But listening to that part at the end about your dog made me remember my own dog and there was something very clarifying and simplistic about that. I know I’m being vague to not depress anyone with the details, but just wanted to say thanks for this video, it felt like a breath of fresh air in a tough time. I've had that same feeling. The feeling of seeing something from your childhood being recreated or modernized and being handled with the upmost care and passion. It really makes you feel like a kid again. It's so validating seeing that dumb thing you liked as a kid be so good.

I wasn't planning on watching this movie, until I saw the notification of this vid. I went with my girlfriend and during this year we have seen Buzzlightyear, Thor L&T and Minions 2 at the cimema. And we both agree that DC League of Superpets is definitely the best one so far. Still amazed that this movie had better (way better) jokes than Thor. A better cast than Buzz and a better plot than Minions. The movie was special. Great vid m8 greetings from Chile.

I partially think why DC has been working lately(I’m sure that will change with Zaslav), is that they are using the brand an letting filmmakers do whatever they want with them. The overly connected universe was fun, but I think it’s time for something different. Something that doesn’t feel like just another ad for another movie.

I watched it just recently, and I can agree with you that it was amazing, but for different reasons. It had so many twists, the fact that they all got adopted at the end, and that the villain's two sidekicks were betrayed and ended up joining the heroes. And don't even get me started on whiskers.

I saw it on the Sunday after it opened, didn't love it but thought it was pretty fun. I thought Ace's backstory while a bit cliche and done before, was very emotionally effective. Also I thought the message about sticking together and overall bonds was nice. Great video as always made me think about the movie in a more thoughtful way.

Just saw the movie. Liked it. It was fun, and honestly contained my favorite on screen representation of Superman. I saw it with my 9 year old brother, who is kind of getting into superheroes. (He loves Spider-Verse and Teen Titans Go!) He walked out telling me it was an incredible movie.

This movie was a lot better than it had any right to be. I dreaded seeing yet another Kevin Hart & Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson film hit theaters, but that all washed over me when I saw the good reviews and the heart in this project. The animation style likewise grew on me as the film went on. I wish they would've advertised the talent behind the scenes instead of the voice actors, and even then I only remember seeing Hart, Johnson, Keanu Reeves, and a bit of John Krasinski being advertised. Natasha Lyonne absolutely killed it. Not once do I remember seeing a tag like "from the creators of the Lego Batman Movie" in the trailers, which would have made me feel more at ease about the project. I was mostly alone in the theater at a 9:30 PM showing on a random day of the week and I was chuckling in my seat and grinning from ear to ear through the runtime. This film rocked - I just wish the box office reflected that.

It was my partner's idea to watch this movie. I was reluctant. I thought, as you said, it would just be another 3D talking pet movie. I was honestly a little disappointed just at the idea of it, but my partner pushed me to watch it together. They figured it would be fun, or we could at least make fun of it as we watched. We were both shocked that it was genuinely a good movie. What a total surprise it was. We both cried while watching it as well.

Also I literally loved and always will love Natasha Lyonne with all my heart! She is so funny, charismatic, quick with her wit, gorgeous, and a TRUE NEW YORKER! I love anything she’s in. She did amazing and fit perfectly for the old turtle, she often describes herself as an 80 year old woman trapped in a younger body.
