I understand the physics of flight, yet somehow it still amazes me that a machine this large can get airborne.

My one aborted landing as an F/A on a Northwest B747-400 was in MSP. I was in the aft jumpseat. It felt like my soul was being sucked out! Incredible g-force. I remember trying to pick my feat up.

A superior aircraft is referred to as ‘The Queen’ of the skies not the king. Reason the pilots didn’t wave was because (if you’d been listening) they were receiving their airways and departure clearances.😮 NB: I am a Military Veteran Aircrew Officer resident in The United Kingdom.
