You know, Nintendo has shown Metal Gear more love in these 30 minutes, than Konami has the past 5 years

Snake defending Luigi's honor gives me life.

Snake wanting to capture and eat Yoshi is just the most Snake thing he can say and I love it.

After hearing Snake and Otacon's conversation about Samus, I think we can safely say that, yes, love can indeed bloom on the battlefield.

I love how it's implied that Snake knows close to nothing about videogames except Luigi and Captain Falcon so he needs to ask Otacon and the Coronel for most of them

Ironically Snake respects Luigi for being the under dog just like him.

Giving snake separate codec calls for every single other fighter is exactly how you represent MGS in Smash.

You got to love how snake talks about the characters. Sometimes they give you tips, back stories, abilities and what are they. Also snake has a crush on samus.

Snake doesn’t like Sonic because hedgehogs eat snakes in real life.

Fun fact: Snake's Japanese Voice actor is Akio Otsuka, son of Chikao Otsuka, the voice of Dr. Eggman. Now you know why Snake hates Sonic.

My respect for Snake has skyrocketed due to his defense of Luigi. I love it

For anyone who is wondering why the fighters not in Brawl did not have Codec calls: It's because Nintendo did not do any out of respect for the late Japanese VA for Colonel Campbell (in Japan, voice acting is a respected culture, and Hideo Kojima has said Roy would never appear in another game after the Japanese VA died).

The fact they went as far as to include Codec with the characters voicing them is an attestment to how much effort they put into each character. Like how when youre fighting Dracula, his first form only takes damage to the head.

You can tell they had so much fun writing these, this is wonderful. Totally would fit in a proper MGS game - though it sounds like they just reused the voice lines from Brawl, since they mentioned it.

I'm sorry, but to me, these will always be 1000x better than the Palutena's Guidance convos. A hardened soldier just trying piece together what the hell's going on amidst this Picasso amalgamation of a roster is way more entertaining to me than forced meta humor from a few anime characters with personalities I only know from ONE 2012 3DS game.
