It's weird, since I've become responsible for a family, I second guess myself going in to confrontations and find myself walking away more often now. Not because I'm afraid but because I'll be missed and leave a void if I wind up in jail or get hurt. @@MrAnurajCJ

Almost everyone thinks theyre an untouchable badass after they learn martial arts but in the streets you never know what the other guy could do or have, even the most trained martial wont be able to beat someone who has a knife or even worse a gun
i dont think it was much about self defense in the street, more to say that if you can dodge, or step back to avoid the hit, its always better. I think that's why he run again when talkin about elbows, cause you can still block it but risky and potentialy hurtful so , "get out of it".

5:37 7:37 Toally buy that. Force is from the hip, and the key is balance, so there is no need to lower the front arm. Nowadays, two-fold, three-fold strikes or counterstrikes are pretty common e.g. backfist strike following a missing kick , superman punch right after a kick.
Throwing the Teep was one of the only things I could think of to keep me safe from the long reach guys as a newbie. Torso, thigh, face, it works for me in MMA.
That's good to hear, because I just started sparring and the teep was the only thing I could do against this aggressive muay mat guy. I'm glad that's a legit thing.
