2022, anyone? Geez, 12 years after and this still makes me so happy, sad and nostalgic at same time. Ryo and Supercell will always be so special for me
@@nahmepin their music had evolved a lot but still its compelling i also liked the old vibes songs like euterpe but the new ones are also dear to me. But overall the nostalgia that kicks in with the old supercell songs is what makes the difference
Fun fact: The guitarist on this song (the actual recording, not the video actor) is Susumu Nishikawa, the same guitarist that played in "God knows..." (And a lot of other legendary anime songs)
2023 and still in love with this and kimi no shiranai monogatari. Once I get married and have children, I will definitely tell them these songs and they'll for sure going to love it. That's how great these songs are.
I miss this type of music from supercell. This song and “Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” are the never ending masterpiece for me.. No matter when I listen to, these two will always hit in the heart..

Girl in the video isn't Nagi. The actual singer is mid 20s +. You can look her up as Yanagi Nagi. She's a real solo artist now if you're interested to hear more.
Zorenar uniforms are a pain yo, without tapering or altering the uniform, it's pretty plain and doesn't give you the right fit. Further more, it restricts on your creativity to dress up
Ugh, even to this day this song makes me feel weird on the inside. That must be sadness. Even without understanding the language (a little, I know). the music can communicate with you without understanding. Very powerful and the music video also helps with it.
5:24 Wow. Its like watching a live action anime. The way the guy is got his bag positioned just like how all the high schooler boys hold it in anime and the way the 'shy' girl hands out the confession note to him. Didn't know the Japanese actually do this. Or maybe its just for the music video..
well yeah they do it but it's quite rare actually, and that's why i said they don't because letter giving is only cultural in anime. If there's anything similar to this, it's the love letters put into their lockers, now this is something they always do in japan, although they also put other stuff like thumbtacks, fake love letters, and.... etc.... it's funny and scary at the same time
Suetsugi Do you live in Japan? Technically I don't either but I live in Korea, which is heavilly influenced by Japanese Culture. Chocolate on Valentine's day is an old tradition in both countries now, love letters are not the most but certainly a quite popular way of students confessing their feelings. The cliches in anime are often exaggerated from a bit to a whole lot but it directly reflects real culture in Japan. If nobody actually did it then the people watching anime at Japan wouldn't have sympathized as much.
..... Just listening to this just doesn't want me to leave High school any more...... I'm gonna play this song on my final year...... Just two more years......to go.......
Wow, this is sad as hell... the singing is nice, but holy crap, that is not a good way to get closure. You just made it worse for yourself. In case you guys missed the meaning of the song, since it's in Japanese, this girl basically fled from the idea of giving a love letter to her high school crush (Ookura), and blew all of the important memory opportunities there. This song is apparently about her chasing her past self to get some misguided closure upon failure when she was younger. The end is the saddest, she says 'I've always loved you, I finally said it' to an empty desk. In the words of Mary Shelly, It is also a duty owed to yourself, for excessive sorrow prevents improvement or enjoyment, or even the discharge of daily usefulness, without which no man is fit for society." I hope she got better, damn. #1 Way to get me to cry, put something involving regret, and pile that crap up as high as you can.
Yukiru Kannazuki it just shows that the Japanese culture or tradition preserves the true meaning of love.. for us in other countries, we occasionally say the words "i love you" easily just the thought that we love that person but what if we deeply love that we cannot find the right or exact words to describe it, that it all comes down to another say "no words can describe how much i love you" or "i love you very very much" is utterly pathetic when you think about... mean while to them just just hearing the words "suki da yo", "daisuki", "suki"or "i like you" means a lot to them and it takes all of their courage just to say those words. I truly admire their preservation of the meaning of love which is "Suki"- to friend or admirer or crush, "aishiteru" - you love them very much, while "koishiteru" Is used best when saying it to someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. We should learn from them.
Kevin So "Love" is only one of the many words they take seriously. I realize it's hard to say to someone in earnestness that you like them, but unless she's practicing for another year with him, what she's doing will likely twist her mind a bit.
Yukiru Kannazuki more than sad, I think she's happy because she already pull out all the effort of making her conffesion (even to a empty desk) late enough for her to say "I lovED you" it's kind of let go of those feelings now that they're already graduated and probably will never meet again. Well at least that means for me #yolo
man leaves an empty feeling when the MV ends.. a girl who wanted to confess but wasn't able to and now she wants to reverse time wishing she would've actually given it during the 3 years she had in highschool. (i think it's 3 years in Japan o_O)
The fact that the boy is actually Sugawara Koushi's stage actor for the Hyper Projection Play Haikyuu, Hiroki Ino. He played as Sugawara in 2015 until 2017 since he graduated.
Pekora sings this song for coco kaichou while crying and after seeing her crying while she sings this song suddenly i started to cry aswell. Goodbye Coco Kaichou o7
funny how I knew about this song before Pekora sang it, so I instantly knew what song she sang. beautiful song, even if i dont understand what it means. THANKS AMAZON MUSIC LOL
Gosh it’s 2021 now and I still can’t stop listening to this song. Anyway the NicoNicoCho concert vers is also another version I love, I must admit that Ryo (supercells) writes the best songs...
I cant believe its been 8 years... time flies really fast without I knew... the song is really beautiful indeed, but kinda painful because brought up old memories 💔
You don,t need to pity other for not understanding this language because you only know the melody not the rhythm think before talking big about yourself and about this song flow because you yourself are fools or in japanese it is known as baka or simply idiot wakata omai wa. Baaka😛.
Just come here after rushia news..when i hear this song its remind me to pekora sing this song for coco..we probably going to see pekora sing this song to rushia too.. Damn i hate this feeling:(its always wanna make me cry nonstop
I saw this on my recommandation again and i immediately feels the good old nostalgic feeling right off the bat, damn this supercell song ages like a fines wine!
So I was on Spotify and looked up Japanese anime songs and this one was the first song that popped up. I listened was like attacked by nostalgia! I'm not sure where I first heard this song. I just know that it's been so long since I heard it. I'm 29 turning 30 this year so pretty sure I was in my teenage years when I heard this the first time when I was still living in Japan. Too bad I can't remember where and when but I still know the lyrics and the feeling! It's amazing... I may not remember at all, but my heart does ❤️
The voice is from Yanagi Nagi and the singer in this video actually is dubbing. The MV actress's name is Ema Sakura. It took me a while to gather this information... I really thought that Yanagi Nagi is her. (>.
+yoitsmegirl *Here you go. I found the translation online.* supercell - Goodbye Memories Oh blooming cherry blossoms on this hill road I have to say goodbye to you. Those days where we were crying and laughing Seemed like only yesterday. It feels like this road we’ve walked on Is leading towards the future You were happy that Every year the blossoms bloomed earlier than expected I smiled and said ‘it seems like it’. Just a little while more And we can’t return to this place anymore If I were to open my heart to you And tell you of those indescribable feelings Would I be able to do it? For a beginning, there is always an ending. One day the path we took to go home Will be a precious memory to me. I won’t forget you, Those goodbye memories. When spring comes, each of these roads… I prayed for a day where we would meet again As I silently mumbled ‘Goodbye’. That day the sky was blue like always So I cried a little I purposely took the longer way home Just to be with you a little bit longer… I jokingly said ‘Oops, we went the wrong way’ You smiled so radiantly and looked away I’ll hold those indescribable feelings Of moments on this road we’ve walked on in my heart Do you remember that time when you Called out my name, and We walked home together in the evening I won’t forget you, Those goodbye memories. I am grateful to have met you I wonder how much everything had changed Since we last saw the cherry blossoms in full bloom I took a glance at you and thought to myself ‘It seems I’ve become to like this person’ But why? I don’t get it at all! Since then each and every day had been fun But at the same time it had been painful I’m sorry I can’t say it any better But I… about you.. how do I say it… I can’t say goodbye to you now I don’t want to stay as just friends I thought we could back then. I…you… about you… Since long ago… I’ve always… …Liked you. Ah I’ve finally said it!
Yeah from what I can understand and sort of from the English translation, she's reminiscing her high school days (from the video) and what she did with this one boy (her crush) and in the end she finally says she loves him, even though it's probably too late but it's kind of a sense of closure, finally being able to say what she wasn't able to say back then.
validalready That's quite a hefty task and no one should expect someone to have such passion for learning languages. I've learnt a bit but you'll ALWAYS be coming across between 30% and 80% new words that you don't understand from listening to new songs. The best I can personally do is (while listening without knowing the lyrics written) perhaps the meaning of one 'sentence' or line etc.
Wow, I used to watch this all the time before I went into High School, now here I am about to graduate in 2 months and I like a guy and I still haven't told him yet.... This song hits differently now
@@ajith700 I didn't tell him even though it was the last day of school..... BUT YESTERDAY HE INVITED ME TO HIS GRADUATION PARTY!!!! So I think I might write him a letter and put it in his graduation card, I don't want to tell him word for word because it's a big event for him
@@juneleaf7603 If he gets a lot of letter or postcards then it's going to be tough for him to be able to read your letter. I would suggest talking to him after he gets some free time
I've never heard of this song but once I heard this song it felt like nostalgia, even though this was the first time I heard it and didn't know about supercell. What a great song.
