M. Fatani - I agree. I also know that my F150s and I have 1 F250 & 350 & 550 have all been great with no repairs. The oldest was my F150 that I replaced with the Toyota. I also have 6 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X for the ranch hands. They are very good as well. They see hard work. In the end I think all the trucks are really good, Ram are not quite up there but still good. I think Toyota are really good but if you follow Toyota’s routine maintenance program for 5 years of warranty time, you could replace a tranny or motor on one of the other trucks. Even with following the other brand’s routine maintenance program. That would have eliminated me purchasing another Toyota itself. It did actually, just as much as the problems. My new truck is a GMC Canyon Denali Duramax. We will see how things go with that truck! I have friends with GM 1/2 tons that don’t stand up too well for heavy ranch work. The powertrain is great but the rest, switches, body panels, etc are not so great. My friends think I am nut with the Nissans, but one guy is trying a couple of Toyota Tacomas to see if they stand up. He is also shopping for a couple of used Frontiers with the 6 foot bed (king cab or crew) . He wants to compare but is amazed he can get 2 used Frontiers with less than 10,000 miles(1 or 2 years old) for the price of one new Tacoma. He could also buy 3 new Frontiers for the price of 2 Tacomas. Ah well, I am rambling. If I was going to own past my warranty on my personal truck, I would only buy Toyota. I am too fickle to hold a truck that long though. Stay safe out there.

+htbud11 My father has an 01 Tundra that he bought new. He still has it today with 240k miles on it. It still runs and drives pretty much like the day it was taken home. My parents split about 2 years after he bought the truck so I haven't been in it very often, but I'm still amazed every time I get in it that it feels just like that day I remember it coming home from the dealer and going for the first ride. I mention it to him every time I get in it how well it has aged. It has an exhaust leak, it's getting rusty (it got the new frame though!) and the stock clutch is finally getting towards the end of it's life, but other than that it's a great truck and it'll be around for a while... I'm hoping to throw him an offer when the clutch finally packs it in. :) The newer generations still feel like they're just as good of a truck as the older ones.

and how else would they test this bolt on kit with factory warranty? The Tundra does not come with a manual transmission so how does the Tundra suck in that regard? So does that mean the Raptor sucks too? It too has an automatic transmission.

@nickt2964 8 лет назад
true about the manual in general. We don't have the option of manual in Canada for the Tundra either. I know in other countries they did but didn't know Mexico still had the manual option. The only option for a manual is the Tacoma. For this comparison, I don't think it sucks because it didn't have a manual transmission. Either way, manual transmission or auto, it is still a damn fast truck after that supercharger install. I'd buy it!

As someone who works in the industry I can tell you the only true major issue that plagues the Tundra consistently are the Air Injection Pumps which affects all the three motors the chassis used from 2007 to 2012(3UR, 2UZ, and 1GR). It's about a $2k fix if it requires all the parts you will need on top of the labor to install. I can't speak for the Raptor, which are sweet, but after owning a Tundra from 2010 to 2015 I can tell you that my old 2011 Tundra was an absolute sweet heart if not a bit thirsty for fuel and would own one again.

I drove a stock 5.7 Tundra for 4 years and supercharged for a year now. It’s a very noticeable difference. The car picks up and goes with less gas. My mpg would average 12.8 with a level kit and 2018+ trd pro rims and tires. Now 15.5mpg with 35s, 4.5 lift, 4.88gear, and the magnuson s/c. But also have to run premium now. Still worth it imo

My 08 tundra has 160k miles and with my supercharger smokes all of my buddies brand new Raptors. None their little garage queen trucks can tow my toyhauler fully loaded with my quads or dirt bikes in the back. All of them have less than 50,000 miles and they all have had suspension issues, electrical issues, tire issues, and other stupid issues that a brand new truck should never have. I know my 11 year old tundra with 160k miles have not. I changed the water pump at 140k miles and that is all. Ford guys can't touch that especially when I used this truck for 10 years to haul heavy ass toyhauler, bikes, utvs, quads, snowboards up and down the California and Az fwys. I once had to to load a buddy's truck on a uhaul car trailer and take it back to LA because he broke his axle running it in the dunes and AAA would charged him a 1000 dollars. No Ford didn't fix the axles under warranty either. Blamed it on owner error. What a garage queen of a truck

and the cost difference too.. the trd supercharger is like 2300 bucks.. the tundra itself can be had for as low as 13,000 you're looking at a 500 hp truck for under 16,000 dollars. and its gonna be beating 90% of other trucks that even want to step up. and you'll have all that power to really help with towing things and just get moving in general. And then the raptor for that same year as the one in the video easily will cost you 35k to 40k and its no way going to outlast the tundra. and with that supercharger its not gonna beat it. just gotta love how tundra's are all around great trucks.

Toyota/Lexus, simply the best. Ford: Found On Road Dead. Fix Or Repair Daily. Toyota leaves crappy Ford in the dust.

only in America truck drag racing is so relevant. because they are built for that right? one of the them wouldn't haul and do what a truck is supposed to do...and a slightly difference of 7 years...yeah, 7 years....today, the tundra is still running. the raptor is a junk yard for parts.

so, lets go get a pavement pounder with a blower and an extra 100hp, then drag race it versus the closest thing to a factory baja prerunner without a blower, at 5600' elevation (where the blower makes that much more difference), and compare interior noise at highway speeds when the raptor has all terrain desert tires on it (substantial increase in road noise), and of course a drag race where it's not even a question, 25%more hp from a blower at mile elevation isn't even the same f'ing sport. This is so biased it's not even funny...

I`m not either a ford man or Toyota man..But they should have used the ford lighting.A buddy of mine has the ford lighting with a the supercharger.I took a ride with him in itone day.He stopped and said watch this..I was like what?He stomped the gas pedal, I actually started to defy gravity and was lifted off of the seat.Thank god I had my seat belt on.

my Toyota yaris has the same 0-60 time than the raptor😂😂, well I mean that's not great because that's at sea level so if it was tested there it probably will be around 14-16 seconds

You got a raptor and a supercharged Tundra and the test you decided to do is MPG? Really? Why not test the panel gap consistency; speed of which you hook up a baby seat in the back, and how fast you can get banana milkshake stains out of the back seat... That would be just as useful for those 2 trucks.

Cool but that what it looks like when you race a Raptor vs a 3.5L Ecoboost F150. Not that impressive, plus the Tundra is Ugly.

Well no shit. The Tundra has a supercharger. A supercharged Raptor would win no problem. What a stupid and unfair comparison.

6.6s vs 8.9? If that's the case I'm pretty sure an identical NON boosted toyota tundra would have bested that raptor as well...

Wish Toyota would get their shit together when it comes to the interior of these trucks. Update the engine, add an 8 or 10 spd, update the interior without quality materials, offer a rear lock and boom perfect truck.

Now wait a minute, the Tundra is supercharged where the Raptor is naturally aspirated, why dont u even it up? One's forced induction the other isnt, not a fair assessment.
@billgateskilledmyuncle23

The raptor has those giant tires for offroading and is naturally aspirated above sea level. And who on earth drives a raptor for drag racing? Up next, a semi truck vs a pogo stick.

hey lets test trucks that are 3 years apart lmao hey lets put a blower against an NA Raptor lmao everyone is comparing power added cars or trucks vs naturally aspirated ford cars and trucks lmao

Not fair, there are some Raptors that are supercharged too. Both trucks should have superchargers, the Raptor will smoke the tundra!
