Supergirl season 2 episode 1 | First look at Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) 

he wasn't that bad in this first appearance but god he's so much better now in his own show

After watching Superman and Lois I'm revisiting some of these old clips. They really nailed both Clark and Superman character with Tyler. Probably my favourite version of him ever.

i'm really happy people are thinking tyler is a good actor and nailed superman. i always adored tyler during teen wolf, he's so underrated but so talented i fucking love him and incredibly proud for having this type of role and good compliments.

Not gonna lie he's nailed it, those 2 minutes felt more Superman then the entire runtime of BvS

Still my favourite episode ever of Supergirl. Tyler Hoechlin nailed the role immediately, and he and Melissa had fab chemistry.

Coming back to watch old clips after the pilot episode of "Superman & Lois." Absolutely loved it. Tyler Hoechlin did a great job in the role, he has won me over. Hopefully the good writing continues throughout the series. My only gripe with Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, is his Superman appearance in the pilot. Let his hair grow out a bit more and get rid of the five o clock shadow. Otherwise it was some of the best Superman we have ever seen on TV.

Tyler does seem good as superman. I was a bit sceptical at first but I like his portrayal from this video, I might actually watch Supergirl now.

I though he was saying "mr Wayne" at the beginning before I realised he was talking to Perry White.

Tyler Hoechlin does the role justice but Supergirl writers have done him dirty so many times. At least now he gets treated right in his show and hopefully it stays that way.

Tom Welling and Christopher Reeve will always always be the goat for me but Tyler smashed it and doesn’t deserve people hating on him, does a brilliant job

FINALLY! A Superman that makes sense to me! I've seen a whole bunch of comments about Hoechlin not being "Buff enough" to play Supes, but I think the exact opposite. The physics of Superman never really made sense to me because in my little nine-year-old mind I was always like "how is it that a guy who gets his powers from the sun can be so ripped?" I mean, seriously, if you think about the process of building muscle like that, there's no way anything short of power lifting the entire city Metropolis on a daily basis could offer enough resistance to promote that much muscle growth in one person. So why does Superman ALWAYS look like he's been juicing with Bane?? Seriously, how does the man BREATHE under all of it? Long story short, Hoechlin NAILED IT and I wanna see more.

I bet this show was riding high after it first introduced Superman. Especially after season one's strange off camera cameo's of him. But then they went and had him take a backseat to Supergirl in everything. I get that it is her show, but now on his show, Superman and Lois, they take revenge by pretending Supergirl's universe didn't exist, lol.

I gave so much flak to Tyler on this show for playing Superman. I said: “ Oh no he’s too small in height and Jimmy Olsen is taller then him or he’s not this or not that”- but now?.... I don’t have these same thoughts anymore, Tyler is SUPERMAN!!!!

Just give him his own show already.

I feel sorry for Henry Cavill a bit because the films suffer from "The Dark Knight" syndrome where everything has to be dark and brooding, which doesn't work in Metropolis in my opinion. Superman is always optimistic and ready to save kittens from trees, have pictures taken with kids and throw nuclear warheads into the Sun, something that has been lost with the new movies. Also he has been unfortunate to have Zach Snyder as a director which didn't help matters. I think he Henry Cavill would do a good job of Supes if given a proper chance. This Superman is great I think, he's exactly what I expect Superman and Clark Kent to be. Yes it's a little cheesy, but at the end of the day Superman is a goody two shoes and whether you like it or not it will come across as cheesy.

I no this is nit picky, but does it bother anyone else that Supergirl fly's in and out of her apartment all the time, like a neighbor has got to have put it together right?

This has to be one of my favorite scenes from the cw. the introduction of Superman, and showing the differences between metropolis and national city and how they appreciate their heroes.

I love Routh and I love Cavill, but Tyler is my favorite Superman since Reeve. More now with his own series

I remember seeing this episode and starting to freak out because I had a crush on Derek Hale back in the day. I was so hyped and weirded out to see him playing an optimistic character.

His character here is so contesting to Derek on teen wolf but he plays both so well and somehow fits both parts perfectly even though they're opposite!

I'm just so happy that Tyler play's Superman because if he didn't then I would not know that he used to be Derek Hale (a.k.a Sour Wolf)

Well THATS SUPERMAN, HOT DAMN!

I think he’s my favorite live-action Superman. Other talents are good as well, but I feel like Tyler brings this energy, light, and comedic timing that’s truer to the character as opposed to other, more serious takes like Henry Cavill’s Superman. He’s looser, not as stiff. I can’t wait to see him on Superman and Lois!

Seeing Superman brought tears to my eyes I hoped he'd show up and team up with Supergirl sooner or later

For the Arrowverse, this was a very good and dramatic debut of their version of Superman (with the right kind of dramatic music and scene of Clark running to change into his super suit). Tyler nailed it then and I am glad that the new show is on. Both 2 seasons have been very good and I hope to see more. (Maybe with Melissa coming back as Kara for at least one episode in the future)

Before the premiere of the third season of Superman & Lois with 11 days to go , I came to see old clips when Tyler Hoechlin became Superman and the truth is that he did incredible (my only small complaint is his suit) . BUT in his own series he improves everything and it's really beautiful , a love letter to all fans of DC and Superman , plus he's my favorite superhero 💙
