I'd really like to see her stats that year, I wonder if she was getting trolled by the award, the applause was actually pretty loud. The mother with her reaction to what happened shows she doesn't let her daughter fight her own battles, but her getting so mad for what sounded like a good amount of applause is weird. Imagine if the coaches were just playing her because of her superintendent Mom pressuring and threatening them, the girl puts up half assed or bad stats on the year and then they name her MVP as a little passive aggressive dig at Mom, the mom would never tell people why she was really mad, and kids all know when a player is getting the "coaches kid" treatment and would probably enjoy the ribbing she got. Message to parents of kids playing sports, if you can sway whether they play or not, don't, everyone on the team will know they didn't earn it and resent them. I could be wrong, but it would explain a lot.

It's totally possible for her daughter to be just a normal kid who has an obsessive overbearing C-word of a mother and that is probably the actual case. It happens more often than people care to admit. So does parents trying to relive highschool through their own kids, pushing or forcing them into sports.

Had the same thought. No teacher or faculty should even have students numbers in the first place, much less text or call them, and most definitely NOT after midnight. Absolutely inappropriate and downright creepy. And you are 100% correct, if it were a male superintendent, people would be outraged, but because she's a female, no one is even talking about that aspect of it at all and that in itself is very troubling.

It's so convinent the superintendent has an MVP athlete for a daughter, isn't it... Regardless, it shouldn't be an issue for people to have a different opinion of who the real MVP was anyway.. The daughter Jessica Phelps has just been admitted to Princeton on a full-ride Softball scholarship, while the other students will have lost any such chance because they were blocked from the team, I fully guarantee you the Tiger mother was just trying to get rid of the competition because she knew her daughter was never good enough. This information is from the daughter's socials, there is no justice done here because the rest of the team will continue to lose out because of her and her daughter.

During my senior year of HS in 1978, the baseball coach's son was captain of the team and was awarded a major athletic scholarship before other more capable students. Within two months of starting college, the kid was thrown off the team, had his scholarship revoked, and expelled for academic under performance. Kids of school authorities should be closely monitored for nepotism.

The girls who got dropped from the team will forever be hurt, not her daughter though. The daughter has just been admitted to Princeton on a full-ride Softball scholarship, while the other students will have lost any such chance because they were blocked from the team, I fully guarantee you the Tiger mother was just trying to get rid of the competition because she knew her daughter was never good enough. This information is from the daughter's socials, there is no justice done here because the rest of the team will continue to lose out while the daughter wins because of her mother's abuse of the other children.

If ANY teacher or administrator has an issue with students outside of school property, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE CHILDS PARENTS. Not by text messaging literal children. Those kids would have saw her outside of school settings as a "parent" simply due to team events and/or practice, etc. It is the same reason as to why the name in the phone was "Marian" and not "Mrs. Phelps", because the information was traded on a personal level.
