Clark being a dork for 5 minutes and 20 seconds straight Thank you for watching ! Tyler as Clark Kent / Superman is honestly one of the best thing that has even happened Everyone, watch Superman and Lois, I promise you won't regret it
@@tasiashiraori i think nobody does Actually. i mean, most People who prefer Snyder Supe, go into the Cinema, watch it and forget instantly. most Fans hate Snyderman, but this is a version that even brought me (Someon whos more into Gotham Guys) to love Superman the first time since the Chris Reeves Movies.
This is why I love Hoechlin's performance as superman so much, his Clark Kent is so dorky and adorable which is what Christopher Reeves was like. He's doing it so well! I love it!
Ikr, both men are perfect at doing the adorkable Clark Kent we all know and love. Idek if anyone says "adorkable" anymore, but that's what Clark is. An adorkable corn-fed farm boy from Kansas who just happened to be born on another planet and as a result has superpowers.
@@crzysnkeman4653 yeah, though he was instructed to basically imitate Reeve rather than do his own thing. Love that he got a second chance playing the role in the Crisis crossover with that Kingdom Come look too. :)
This is how superman is supposed to be! He’s a fucking sweetheart from Kansas. Hell I’d rather him be a happy himbo than another brooding jaded edgelord.
Tyler's CK is almost exactly like Chris Reeve's CK, an adorkable, slightly bumbling sweetheart of a corn-fed Kansas farm boy. When the series ends, which hopefully won't be anytime soon, I'm ordering it off Amazon asap. I freaking love this amazing series!
Both his Clark and Superman are perfect. He's so kind, dorky but in the lovable way. Not since the Reeve days has Clark and Superman felt like two completely different characters but at the same time felt so the same. You can see the good nature of Clark always shining through. It's just amazing.
@@lolzguyl Oh I love that scene. The simmering danger Clark showed, his protectiveness of his family, the fact hecdidn't want to fight in front of the guy's daughter, they're all perfect. And everyone in the diner's reaction! They all thought Clark is just some goofy, likable but harmless guy, and then bam! Mess with his family and Clark will tear you apart. And since he's frockin' Superman, that becomes literal.
I honestly fail to see what Tyler has to do to get you to see he was basically born to play superman I mean 3 season in and he just keeps making me love his portrayal of superman and I was never a fan of the character to begin with I mean I know about the character and know his history but it's case of this show and most importantly his portrayal that got me to like superman
@@ajwebhead21 I said in quotations about him not looking the part. He is great 10/10 it's just a bummer that Henry Cavill didn't get this good treatment
Bro that fight on the football feild when he gets punched... He had to think about how much to react like... "is this a fall down amount of force? Yeah?... Yeah. Im gonna fall with that one. Ok go."😅😂
Considering this is a CW show, it has exactly ZERO business being as good as it is. The version of Clark is so goddamn good. Hes a huge dork, a good parent, but also a nice guy without being naive or corny. There's drama, but not the soap opera shit the arrowverse turned into. Lois is a strong female character with her own agency without being a "girl boss" and making every man around her look like a moronic caveman. Even the kids are well done. It's just a damn good superman show
@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 -- In Season 3, Lana eventually chose to honor the previous mayor by landmarking his name, and his memory. I sincerely respect this after certain unpleasant events in Season 2..
“I used to call it the Kessel Run” “What’s that?” “*Disappointed nerd sigh*” I can’t put into words how much I love Hoechlin’s take on the character, he’s perfect.
@@SamaritanPrime Right? In that Scene I was like: "Clark, why are disappointed? You are the Dad, are you NOT?! Wasn't it YOUR responsibility to FORCE your Son next to you on the Couch and make him watch Star Wars with you?" "Don't you worry Son, you gonna love it!! YOU'RE 🤡GONNA 🤡 LOVE 🤡 IT 🤡" So.. you are looking for disappointment Clark? Try the Mirror!
Kid: "Cool costume!" Superman: "Thanks! My mom made it for me." She did, too. I mean, the colors and design were copied from his swaddling clothes when they found him, but she really did make it.
What I love is that THIS is actually who Clark or Kal El really is, Superman is his serious acting persona. I can see a clearer way of contrast if Clark ever meets Bruce Wayne not as their Superhero identities but as this. I imagine Bruce being all stuck up not standing Clark thinking that the latter is acting, without him really realizing that this is who Clark really is.
honestly really love this kind of relations in superheroes like the mundane bickering like capt, thor, and stark talking about mjolnir elevator, or batman buying the bank for supes
@@yuugael4010 That is my point, Clark for example was raised by a very good and moral couple. People that had a great heart and treated every person no matter how different with love, compassion and courtesy and they were the ones that passed on these principles to Clark not Jor El nor Lara, but Martha and Jonathan Kent. Yes, his biological parents were also good people, but they could never understand Human society, they were ALIENS only similar in appearance and morphology. So, as Kal El was brought up as Clark Kent, he grew to be as he grew, a regular guy, dorky, but well meaning and humble. Then he learned about his abilities and origin. He loves Chili Cheese Fries, he loves the rural life and hard work. He loves people and he understands the difficulty of them not having his power and the responsibility to manage who he is and what he can do. I too love the mundane regular talks and hang outs of superheroes, and I saw this first on the epilogue of the DC Comics KINGDOM COME graphic novel. Then like you said, in the ASM films and the MCU, and that is what makes these heroes relatable. And what in my opinion has made the Superman and Lois series the best Superman of them all, as good as Christopher Reeves.
@@enderduck4253 I just read part of the comic where Batman was discovered about his "Contingency files" on the JL, when it was used on them. But this was a flashback because of the comic that had a robot "Failsafe" as an answer to Superman when he asked what was the contingency if Batman went out of control. On this moment when Superman asked him, he raised his voice to Batman telling him to take off the mask or he would take it off him because he wanted to talk to Bruce, not Batman. The comic deepened on Batman's psychological damage because he created "Personalities" in his mind that are basically different and alternate and spoke like a patient with a multiple personality disorder. He had to access his "Batman of Zur En Arrh" because regular Bruce was getting his butt kicked all over by the android. This Batman persona was extreme and in fact would kill and was accessed because this persona was the one that built the android. Look it up, you will like it if anything, at least for the art.
@@EternalRoman so do you think if another surviving Kryptonian refugee ever crash landed on Earth that Clark would be the best one to help him or her adjust to life on Earth and eventually enter into human society? Asking for myself, as I plan to write a Superman fan fic over on Wattpad.
And to think so many people doubted Tyler Hoechlin and this show, just for them to give us the best Clark Kent *AND* the best Superman onscreen to date
When you cut them together like that it really does show off that Tyler's Clark really is dorky which is a nice side of his version of Clark Kent. I don't think any other actor who's played Superman really showed off Clark's nerdy side it's either been Clark being a bumbling mess or super serious like Superman. As one of my only nitpicks about Dean Cain's take on the character from the early 90s he didn't really separate his take on both characters.
Chris Reeve did it perfectly, too. I'd bet my next paycheck Tyler studied Chris's Superman films when he got the part so he'd be able to do the adorably dorky Clark Kent that Chris was so good at doing.
@@SunsetMagicMC Smallville was good but I felt that Tom Welling's Clark Kent repeated the same lessons. It was like the writes were having Clark repeat the same mistakes again. All in an effort to hold off on him becoming Superman.
My favorite bits in any iteration of Superman are when he has to pretend to be injured or weaker than he is. Like when he got punched and fell over, or when he had to pretend to need help with lifting that thing.
As far as Tyler goes being Superman, he's got geeky Clark Kent down to a science. Reminds me what Christopher Reeve said in the second movie. He liked being Clark Kent, except for having to make a fool of himself so no one would figure it out that he's Superman.
This guy is the best Superman since Reeve. This show abandoned the idea that Superman is supposed to be cool. This was objectively the correct decision. Superman is a boy scout, he's a dork. He shouldn't be menacing and enigmatic; he's a farm boy from Kansas, he should seem approachable.
Right. Superman is supposed to be easy-going and friendly as the default. He's only supposed to be threatening and off-putting to the bad guys. I love this show. Not just for Tyler as Clark/Supes but his chemistry with Bitsie who is possibly the best all round Lois, and the fact this family thing it does works so well. I've still not had kids myself yet but 'SuperDad' whether in the comics or in this show has been my favourite development of the character in a long time.
This is such a perfect read on the Clark Kent/Superman character. When he's just himself he's a slightly gooberish and dorky man. Its only when he puts in the suit and people see Superman do they change how they act around him but he never fully changes
Right? He's not a dork when it comes to facing the bad guys or saving people. He knows when it's time to be serious. And yeah, he's a dork as Clark but even some of that he exaggerates himself when required like when he's deliberately trying to look weak when he's being pushed about as Clark as seen in towards end of these clips. One notable exception is when he, still as Clark, confronted Candice's dad in the diner, because you do NOT mess with Clark's family. That's when you get a Clark who has no time for any silliness. I like that Clark still had control. He was angry but he didn't lash out. He sternly made his point and only used his superpowers to no-sell the shove and to pin the creep onto the bar. Also loved this bit before it all: Lois: "This isn't a job for Superman" Clark: "He's not going" :)
Yessssss Honestly Tyler Hoechlin really really shines as Clark The Dork. My god this vid is cute and funny. This is going in my “emergency serotonin” playlist lol I love how high pitched and silly his voice gets when he’s being goofy.
The ways he’s been portrayed in the last 15 odd years really show why we needed this show and this interpretation. It’s different and does it’s own thing, but it never betrays the characters or their key factors just because a writer/director/studio thought it’d be cool. You can have a cool, awesome SuperMan adaptation who is also just- a guy.
Lois: "I think I'm pregnant." Clark: "How?!?" Lois: "Clark . . . ." It's a fair point considering they're not the same species nor from the same planet, but it does sort of sound like Jonathan skipped the birds and bees speech for a second there.
Right, plus in some continuities it's impossible for Kryptonians and humans to interbreed due to their respective DNA being incompatible, as we learned in an episode of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. That Jon and Jordan even exist at all in DC is a miracle, tbh.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING WHAT I HONESTLY BELIEVE MIGHT BE THIS FANDOM’S FIRST HUMOR VID!!!!!!! 😆😆😆 DIED over the editing and commentary!!!! PERFECT tribute!!! 🤣
I can tell why this show is so good despite coming from the CW DC universe. The dynamic and chemistry between Lois and Clark is amazing and Tyler Hoechling just radiates wholesome dad energy.
Always loved the contrast with Bruce Wayne; while in that case Bruce is the fake persona and Batman is his real self, *this* is Clark, the dorky farmboy.
@@DayumSonny Agreed. Snyder's Superman is pretty damn good, but this rendition of Clark Kent was much better. I swear, if we combined the two we'd have the absolute best version of a live action Superman.
@@DayumSonny Snyder didn't get anything from Superman right. One of the differences between Sups and most of the other heroes is that he doesn't use his alias as another persona. He isn't another being when he is Superman. Getting Clark wrong is getting Superman wrong. Snyder didn't understand ANYTHING.
Ubknow, i realy love this live action version of clark. He seems to me to be the closest to the Christopher reeves Clark. He's not a sullen badass like the cavil versipn ,nor is he too quickly shoved into the fray like in smallvile. This version feels really well matured while maintaining his optimistic friendly nature.
Superman should be warm, powerful, and stately. Clark should be dorky, approachable, and kind. If David Corenswet can pull that off, we might very well have our definitive on screen Kal-El
I hated Henry's superman. Nothing against Henry's acting, he did what he was directed to do, I just think DCEU Superman looked at Superman and fundamentally didn't understand what Superman is. It's the equivalent of making a Captain America character more like Soldier Boy.
Hey Smallville was also good in that aspect. I think because TV writers who understand Clark and have the time to actually develop it. Clark is dorky and good, Superman is good and competent.
Tyler is without doubt the best live action Superman/Clark I mean we’ll see what David can do with the role in Superman Legacy but until that day comes for right now Tyler is Superman.
This type of character can go so wrong and become weak, frail, and not any “hero” to look up to… TH really delivers such a likable and CAPABLE dork that it fits perfect!
Tyler's my absolute favorite Clark Kent. He sells wholesome and dorky BUT smart and capable so well. If the series were just him and Bitsie doing investigative journalism in Metropolis, I'd probably watch it.
Idc what anyone says, he's the best live action Superman. I've thought that ever since Supergirl 2x1. Henry Cavill was fantastic casting, and probably could've been the best with good writing, but this here is peak Superman like we've never got anywhere else.
