Superman & Lois 1x11 "Superman Saves Lois Lane" Flashback Scene (HD) 

He was never the problem, even with his first appearance he had clark kent perfectly handled. The writers decided to make him a punching bad to hype up supergirl, I think that's where the problem began

@@midgetline4550 tyler is actually pretty jacked, I think supergirl's shooting schedule may have had something to do with him not being able to get into superman physique on time (I know his suit has padding on this show but even other than his physique is good, check him out in the movie bigger)

@@cecilgoodman2343 - He was originally cast as Clark/Superman in June 2016. Filming for Supergirl's second season was set to start in late July. That meant he had a minimum of four weeks to try and bulk up before shooting began.

I really like her character in this show but her appearances in the crossover were a bit obnoxious. Two different characters in my opinion, she was too political in the crossovers.

Always an awful idea and never happens. Never has a star from a tv superhero show moved to the movies and there’s a reason. It’d ruin the show especially if the movie fell flat. Keep em separated and learn to not be greedy.

The actor was so great at the role that they decided to just bring his character to the big screen instead of recasting. So your comment makes no sense cause that would ruin nothing plus they could just say his big screen version in a variant in another universe to keep the show separate.

I agree. Tyler is doing an utterly remarkable job at Clark Kent and Superman, however, even though he is great...Christopher Reeves is the literal definition of a "LEGEND" so even though Tyler is killing this out of the park, he has a lot more to go before he's anywhere NEAR being able to be called "IS" Superman. If I had to rate them, it'd be 1) Mr. Reeves 2) Tyler & 3) Henry Cavil because Henry literally is greek god superman, but that's all. He is an ass Clark Kent. Tom Welling played Clark Kent the best and Christopher played Superman the best, however, Christopher also killed the goofy, dorky, clumsy, shy, awkward, stuttering Clark Kent which makes him the entire package! Tyler is doing the same we just don't have enough material yet to fully make a fair judgment and compare him to the all time great just yet! "Pending further review..."

We only had 4 Christopher Reeves Superman films which were roughly an hour and a half each, which clocks in at around 6 hours in total. (and lets be honest, Superman 3 and 4 were utter shite, so basically 2 'good' films...) With Tyler, we're probably clocking in at over 10 hours of footage now if you add together this series and all of his appearances in Supergirl and the Arrowverse crossovers. Personally, while I agree that Reeves is still the 'gold standard' when it comes to playing Superman AND Clark Kent, I think Tyler is right up there with him. He's done a fantastic job and definitely nails the duality of the role in a way that the likes of Henry Cavill and Tom Welling didn't. (Although, to be fair, Dean Cain should also be in this discussion too. He did a decent job back in the 90's...) I think the only *minor* thing Tyler has going against him (and this is not really his fault...) is that his face is just a little bit too distinctive. The structure of his jaw, the stubble, the eyebrows and slightly the pointy teeth makes him very recognisable. He doesn't even part his hair differently like Reeves did. There's no way that you wouldn't guess that Tylers Clark was actually Superman. It's too obvious. Reeves' face was slightly more 'generic', if that makes sense. Part his hair differently, put some glasses on and slouch his shoulders a bit and he almost seems like a different person. Tyler always looks like Tyler.

In superman animated series same case. When clark first appeared in metropolis fo help ppl he didn’t have a hero name till Lois looked at the and call him a Superman. Clark was in the room too when he heard that and he quickly liked the name.

@@MaxBrianJung I still don’t believe it was Iris who gave Barry his name. Maybe Iris was what made Barry finally decide it’s the flash, but I still believe Oliver was the one who named Barry. He did tell Barry that he can save people in a “flash”. Maybe Barry thought about it because of that.

And that graphic novel was influenced by the 1940's Fleischer Superman Cartoons as well as the 1950's serial Atom Man VS Superman starring Kirk Alyn as Superman. Atom Man in the original film serial/first appearance was actually Lex Luthor who had adopted a new identity for a criminal scheme.

@@jonarbuckle778 Don't forget that the 1940s Cartoons were based on the _Superman_ radio program. It was the writers of that program that decided to have Superman fight the KKK, which was quite popular at the time. After the radio program, the Klan's recruitment dropped drastically, relegating them to an era gone by.

They're worried about having a good CW show for a season or two then have the writing drop off at the speed of light. Its the CW. Its a legitimate concern. I'm willing to give this show a chance, but other people being wary have extremely valid reasons for being wary.

Huh, I didn't really think of that. That was a good choice, and I'm glad that yes, of course she'd be mad that Superman's taking the attention away from her stories, but not because there her stories but because there the important news. I'm also glad that when he told her he's Superman, she didn't act like "why didn't you tell me sooner?" or she just walks away and she needs time to process, granted they jumped a bit afterwards but still.

I think the issue missed in all of this is that Lois cannot ever be strong enough in the world of DC comics. She is just a normal human being, and Superman and his actual group of villains are miles above her in strength and wits. So no matter what they do, it really does come across as artificial.

You gotta take into account that they are from different periods in their lives. Henry's Superman is discovering his powers, Tyler's already has a lot of years of experience. And not only talking about powers, but the families they built and whole lot of variables. I don't think they should be compared.

But a Jay Garrick & Superman team up would not be dependent on Stargirl. It could happen on the Flash, or Jay Garrick could be a guest on Superman and Lois (in flashbacks, or in the present).

@@CodenamePrince I'll also add that Superman can extend this aura not just to his own clothing, but to objects and vehicles like planes and even buildings, which is how he can do iconic saves without worrying too much about applying force evenly so as to not break things he's holding or lifting. He can also use this aura on people, which is how he can fly/run with people at high speed without them dying from whiplash. He has even used it to save a space exploration shuttle from being consumed by a solar flare on the Sun's surface which is kinda insane.

Unfortunately the show will probably start to go downhill with the introduction of Diggle, just like when Barry was introduced in Arrow. It was good while it lasted though.
