Episode 113
This is Part 1 of a two part episode - To see Part 2, click here: • #SuperMario Super Mari...
Super Mario World, known as Super Mario Bros. 4 in Japan, was the franchise's debut on the Super Nintendo. It was one of the very first games made for the system, but even today it's still one of the very best!
With 74 levels, and 96 different exits to find, this was Mario's biggest adventure yet! This time he'd have help from someone other than his brother, Luigi, because Super Mario World was the first game in the series to feature Yoshi!
So how did this game become such a cherished classic? In today's episode we'll find out, then we'll dive deep into the gameplay where we'll learn:
* The best way to complete ALL 74 levels, and find ALL 96 Exits!
* The EASY path to the Princess!
* TONS of tricks to get UNLIMITED 1-UPs!
* The secret of the ORB GLITCH which will give you an item that can clear levels INSTANTLY!
* How to get through every confusing Ghost House!
* The CLOUD GLITCH - Get an item that will let you fly through levels with ease!
* Where to find EVERY DRAGON COIN!
* How to get a Cape in World 1!
* The secret way to ride an INVISIBLE YOSHI!
* A way to get UNLIMITED TIME!
* How to beat the BONUS GAME, and get the maximum 1-UPs every time!
* Where to find all of the different Yoshis!
* The best strategy for defeating EVERY BOSS... AND MORE!
Thanks for watching!

It can't be understated just how incredible this game was. It was as much of a leap forward as the original Super Mario Bros. was when it came out. Just about as close to perfect as it's possible to get.

@@adventureoflinkmk2 The past ten years for console gaming have been stagnant in the graphics department, IMO. It just feels like developers are just trying to push out games that are 75% playable... I will say though, I really love how the PC community is trying to port old DirectX / OpenGL renderers into raytracing renderers with new Vulkan / DirectX12 API's. I like to believe that is the equivalent of watching graphics change over the years, as new and improved hardware comes out.

For those that grew up with these old Mario games, they were so special, and the music is now so evocative. Every gamer has their childhood console and games that made their childhood. I once randomly bumped into Miyamoto in Brighton about 7 years ago. I was so star struck, just shook his hand and said “thank you”. I think he knew what I meant.

I honestly find Super Mario World a downgrade from Super Mario Brothers 3. There was less diversity in the enemies, lazier enemy designs, less diverse areas, and less innovation in certain game play mechanics in Super Mario World in comparison to Super Mario Brothers 3. However, I did play this game, meaning Super Mario World, straight through for about four to five hours and scored over 4,250,000 points by the time that I had beaten the game.

There's a trick you can do with Yoshi that I've never heard anyone talk about, I discovered it when I was a kid. When riding Yoshi, walk toward a fruit that Yoshi can eat. When Yoshi makes contact with the fruit he automatically eats it, but if you press the Y button to stick Yoshi's tongue out when he starts to eat the fruit, he'll eat it twice for 2 coins instead of one.

When I revisited this game I also started watching videos on RU-vid about it and it blew my mind when I saw all these secrets and hidden mechanics I had no idea existed. Yet again, another game I thought I knew every pixel of, and you showed me something in the first level I never even heard of. Also, I never got that bill and Ted reference. Wtf. Amazing stuff. Nice work, man.

Nice video! Impressive work as always. I first encountered this game at a cousin's house in Ireland, and it was what made me want a SNES. For some reason Vanilla Dome 1 sticks in my memory as one of those moments my impressionable young mind just sort of went "Wow...videogames!" And the rest is history.

Hell yeah! This channel got out of my algorithm for a while and I'd almost forgotten about it only to see a banger like SMW.

yep, today year's old when I first learned that you can control the coin trail by using the d-pad! Wow, that amount of times I played and beat this game and did not know that. Astonishing...thanks UCBVG!

I remember me and my older cousin ragdolled the piss outta smb3, then one day she got a snes and rented SMW. We were both blown away, I remember flipping on the fences clear as day, I must've been 6.

To put something in perspective I started following you at about 10K subs. I said back then World Of Longplays is in trouble, you have completely hit the mark somewhere between them and gaming historian and the world is better off for it. Much love.

I played this game pretty much every day of my life from 4 years old to about 15 when my SNES finally gave out. I can proudly say I knew every single one of this. This was just always a game I could pick up and play through in one sitting while thoroughly enjoying it. This and TMNT Turtles in TIme on a Mame emulator were my go to play sessions most nights.

Your joke about the Torpedo Teds just sunk in to me now and blew my mind. THAT is why they named him Torpedo Ted. Over two decades of playing this game and it didn't occur to me until now.
