yeah.. series really to a turn for the worse.. Its not even that the Ideas were thin, its was just the writing team sucked. They couldn't fully commit a season to the overall plot and had to put in these filler episodes to space it out.
I wish we saw more of the dark part of Purgatory, or just actual monsters in general. Hopefully in the final season, we'll get real monsters and not human possessed creatures.
@@michaellorah9051 wasn't it said that the Leviathans were the Old ones? Or rather the 'Real ones', as In Universe Lovecraft saw the Leviathans and wrote about them As the 'Old ones' I'm curious, would that Imply Roman is cthulu? As he's the leviathan leader
@@jerod5636 yea.. the first thing I thought of when I seen jack take his power was the last air bender as well. Kinda anticlimactic. Not as upsetting as the last episode though.
I really liked how they ended season 7. I know the season, in general, is hated, but the season’s finale was done pretty well... especially Baby’s return! And, ya, in my mind the series ended after 15x19.
A scary end to a season. Honestly though, the most terrifying season end I believe is season 3 when Lilith comes to collect Dean's debt. And the final shot is Dean in hell suspended in chains piercing part of his body with him crying out to Sam for help. Then the screen goes black and we hear the desperate cry of "SAAAMMMMM!"
That shit made me feel sick thank god i wasnt watching it when it came out newly i wouldve lost my shit waiting for the next season and just keep thinking that dean was tortured in hell
Fun fact: In Dante's Inferno, the fourth circle of hell was a marsh swamp where souls would torment each other. It was where people consumed by anger and hatred basically fight and rip each other apart for all eternity. It may have very well been where the showrunners got their inspiration for Purgatory in the show.
@@abduljah9355 Well, Supernatural's world is pretty messed up. I mean, Bobby got sent to hell because Crowley had the reaper that took Bobby in his pocket, and if something like that can happen, pretty much there's no guarantee of anyone going anywhere. I was always curious though. In the Supernatural world, I always wondered if a Christian vampire or werewolf who never hurts anyone or kills anyone could make it to heaven. Like, Dean went to Heaven, despite the fact he was a vampire at one point, and he was a demon at one point. And we do see demons can be cured and turned back into humans. So would it be possible for a "good" demon or monster to make it to heaven?
@abduljah9355 I know I'm late, but Jack changed how heaven functioned and put all the people who Chuck sent to Hell in Heaven where they belong. I think it's safe to say he wouldn't keep the trend of "All monster go to a bad place when they die" seeing as he's the son of lucifer and turned out to be good.
Season 8 could've been an amazing season in purgatory. Sam and Kevin walking in as Roman exploded was perfect to take them to purgatory as well. Sam, Dean, Cas, and Kevin fighting their way out of purgatory. Season 9 wouldve been insane because upon getting out after a year, they return and realize that while they were away Crowley has released more demons, and has been ruling freely in their absence. Returning to another war after leaving the last, and having to push back the demonic forces risen to earth from the time they lost while in purgatory.
Because there is no archangel around anymore. Gabriel was killed in season 5, lucifer and Michael are in the cage and Raphael is also dead. God cas smited him.
@@amoghkudva8925 I'm pretty sure he got snatched up by Loki and that's why he didn't do anything. But I feel like he still would've ignored it probably.
@One User yeah later the writers decided to bring him back, but in that time where the other seasons wasnt out gabriel was actually dead. He was supposed to be dead in season 5. Supernatural should have end in season 5. Do you understand my point ?
The fake out was stupid. I loved the season. I consider it the show's 3rd peak. However, the only reason to stab him with the fake is to give the audience an "uh oh" moment. It makes sense to have a decoy, but I would have written it that Dick gets and breaks the decoy during the fight because it makes sense for him to still be cautious, and not get stabbed in case Crowley did break their deal. He's extremely intelligent. Which is at least half of why he's so threatening of a villian.
likely that bastard smiled because already knew ''the secondary effect'' of the bone on Cas and Dean, although this was the end of his empire and the doom of the chompers, likely Eve finded out a form to kill him again in the purgatory, this time for good.
I know Cass left to protect Dean from Leviathans, but he could've and should've stayed to help Dean take care of what was around first, then burn off...
@@shadowbandit3975 the problem is the show doesn't even try, the moment Dean reveal Crowley betray Dick, he should have been alerted, maybe try to escape since there is a weapon in the whole world that can kill him, or maybe take Cas hostage.
So like, let's just nit run and stare at the beast emitting weird waves smiling as he's dying. On a side note did cass just disappear on dean right after he says most likely ripped to shredded?
Teleportation was explained later in the series, no problem here. And that was actually the first time they introduced the purgatory thingy. Every damn cursed creature ends up there. Alphas were dying like ordinary nothing, but that dick somehow managed to bring his killers with him. That's just lazy scripting, nothing more.
@@majzerofiveI'm just saying, blowing up creatures and weird deaths isn't a first, and at that point in the series red flags should be a run que, I guess it's human nature to stare at danger like a really toxic curiosity. lol but why did cass teleport leaving dean alone?
Yeah Dean Winchester can kill the alpha Leviathan. He can defeat Lucifer. However when it comes to a vampire from the past he gets killed by a f****** nail
@@nesenda no it was a nail it was not a rebar it was a literal nail that people who work at a farm hang stuff like horseshoes on. Also if somebody is mistaken about something you shouldn't be calling them an idiot. The word idiot is a man-made word just like the word race there's no such thing as a race everybody is the same everybody is that equal. Yet again you ignore my entire statement that Dean Winchester chilled Dick Roman the alpha Leviathan he killed Lucifer he killed Cain but yet again he gets killed by a f****** nail. The only reason I made this comment is the fact that Jensen ankles announced multiple times than 5 years him and Jarrod wants to make a supernatural revive why else do you think right before the rest of the season started Jared and Jensen constantly said we will be back we will will be back in terms of after Supernatural
@@nesenda I find it's so idiotic how 5 people liked your comment after you call somebody a idiot when in fact you are the only person that's an idiot here you don't know the difference between a rebar and a very big nail. Just like what the other person said if it was a rebar about 6 in it would have stabbed Dean right through his heart. He wouldn't had never been able to talk for more than 5 minutes. Also you do realize there are small Nails there are big nails and there are very huge nails like what they use to build railroads. That's basically what killed Dean it was a very old railroad nail. You know how I know because you can tell from the shape of it the height of it and how sharp it was. Not to mention on Farm they don't use rebars in Barns. Most people use rebars in construction work.
@@nesenda also you do realize the whole rebar thing that people have been staying at all Supernatural that is a f****** meme. People made a joke how Rick Grimes can survive hours of being stabbed by a rebar but Dean couldn't barely survive a nail. Food for thought a meme is not always accurate that's like you trying to use Wikipedia to write a college paper and then you cry because you failed because Wikipedia is not an academic source.
They could've made season 8 to be half Dean surviving and looking for a way out/ half Sam trying to get him out, making morally grey deals in the process, but noooo... they just skipped It.
I'm pretty sure that first stab would have actually killed him if they used the right bone i don't remember them ever saying anything about needing to stab him in the neck for it to work, seems like they took a unneeded risk that almost didn't work i mean Roman saw him slowly pull out that second bone if he had just the slightest bit of self preservation i don't think either bone would have been able to make contact especially the second one as again Roman saw Dean pulling it out and also would have easily had the time to react and stop the attack Cas likely wouldn't even be able to grab his head in time before Roman stopped and likely killed Dean, Dean pulled the bone out at 1:09 and Cas grabbed his head at 1:11 in those short seconds Roman could have easily killed Dean, stab his hand into Dean's chest, snap his neck or push him into the wall so hard he dies on impact with him quickly turning around and killing Cas who would have no real way to fight back as Dean had the bone which would either be out of reach of Cas or already broken by Roman
Dean 100% the type to do the fake out stab, but it actually work the first time, then be absolutely confused as to why he didnt just bring the real one anyway.
In purgatory your hunted by monsters forever and in hell your burning in the lake of fire forever, there truly is no worst of the worst between the two realms
Man the purgatory storyline had so much potential. Especially if somehow Sam and Dean had ended up in purgatory instead of Dean and Cas. I wish they could have started the God-Castiel storyline early season 6 and winded it up mid season. And somehow Castiel gobbling up purgatory would set Eve's arc in motion. Season 6 could then end with Sam and Dean being turned to monsters(vampires most probably, or any other monster that can be cured) by Eve's disciples and killed to end up in purgatory. Season 7 could then deal with Sam and Dean getting out of Purgatory and dragging Eve along with them or something and Eve being the big bad in season 7, hence avoiding the leviathan debacle. Season 8 could still be the same with the introduction of tablets, which could reveal Eve's weakness instead of the leviathans'. That way, the painful and horribly out of character actions of Sam not looking for Dean could also be avoided and Benny could be a buddy to both of them. I think someday I'm going to take up writing this fan-fiction.
Agreed, Purgatory, Alphas and Eve especially were under utilized. I think they wanted to get us focused on Angels and Demons still, but all that and Leviathan could of been used way better
I agree with everything. Eve was very wrong when she would make a high-level villain, purgatory was not well taken advantage of, and the leviathans were very half-assed creatures. You would be a better screenwriter than they had on the show.
I agree, feel like purgatory and Eve should have been a bigger part of those seasons. Maybe Eve would have been a build up villain like Lucifer in a sense.
What…? How on earth would this have been a good series finale? Jesus I’m glad you are not script writer of any show. If anything, cut Sam being back from the ending of season 5 and that would have been a great ending for sure
I wish they had made a mini season or something going into all the stuff dean did in purgatory or how he escaped those gorilla-wolves back at the end of season 7
Dean and Cas ending up in purgatory was so dumb, they literally just stood there, they could’ve at least grab them both, sort of a “I’m taking you with me” kind thing.
This has got to be Dean coming down with plot-induced stupidity. I don't care what kind of weapon it is. If it causes visible pulses of light to emit from the guy I just shivved, I'm inclined to put more distance between me and ground zero. Also, did anyone else get D&D vibes? Stabbing Dick Roman acted like putting one bag of holding inside another.
This was so stupid? Why did Dean need the fake one if he succeded in stabbing him anyway? A good writer should have made it where Dick beat up Dean and avoided getting stabbed, and then Castiel came from behind.
He broke Dean heart to save him and also it's confirmed my misses always had a feeling that cas had always been in love with Dean and she was right and it's been confirmed
@@robertwhyte4979 No thats just retarded garbage, even if the actor himself is playing that little narrative just typical celebrity leftists virtue signaling bs.....heres a thought.....grown men can love other men as friends/brothers without being flaming homosexuals.....crazy concept in 2020 I know....
Castiel said the moment he was they were in purgatory, he had target painted on his back. The leviathans that all died all wanted Cas' head and Benny had described that Castiel was basically a walking beacon. So, in order to keep Dean safe, he seperated himself from him, keeping his distance.
Bad writing. You have our heros fighting these guys for so long and being shown so scary and unpredictable, for Dean to kill the leviathan with a magic bone. Not only this but most villains get killed in lame ways.
This brings to mind a question of always had about supernatural Dean and his brother are normal humans they fight demons angels other monsters werewolves how is it they're able to physically take out these other supernatural beings who are much stronger than humans much faster then humans , But these two ordinary humans are able to beat them in a straight up fight now I know their instances where they trick them or ambush them but still I've seen numerous occasions we're in hand to hand they are actually able to overpower these much stronger opponents.. truthfully I think they're super power is in a script but all rights 90% of these creatures they shouldn't have been able to defeat or at best 75%.

Awwww hell naw. , I'd shit my own pants of I ended up there. That's a scary looking Hell.... no weapons would work there that I know of and NO BACK UP? YUP IM BONED. ......THERE.
Worst villains in general What happened to them, they used to be angel killings beasts, and demons managed to hunt them down, because they lost their leader? That's BS, the writers just wanted to get rid of them as fast as possible
honestly less angel crap in this show, monsters, demons, portals that lead only to monsterous or demonic worlds i would like to see reapers going crazy too
As Crawley put it, it is because the bone (weapon) has a kick/drawback which sends the user the same place as where the creature they killed goes to when they die. If they used the weapon on a Dæmon like Lilith it would've sent them to Hell instead
